This week I am tackling the impossible, by turning this into that featuring me turing a store bough grocery store cake into a elegant modern trendy wedding cake. The grocery store cake was iced in whipped buttercream icing and I am going to use that frosting to ice the bridal cake. This DIY wedding cake was so easy to make. I will show you how to create a double berrel two tiered cake covered in an edible image so you will see how I wrapped an entire cake with an edible image and hand painted with gold leaf dust, and topped with stunning flowers. Let's do this!

I love it as well. She's so talented, but she makes it seem attainable. Like, I probably won't be able to put the finishing touches as well, but I feel I could cut rounds out of a sheet cake and ice them.

This doesn't look like a first time wedding cake but would work for perhaps a 2nd or 3rd wedding or even an anniversary party. I love the gold on the leaves really takes the design up a notch.

My family got my great grandmother a cake with her picture on it for her 80th birthday. When she passed away 10 years later we discovered that she saved the part of that cake that had her face on it in her refrigerator. I guess she didn’t want to eat her face.

I'm really glad that you kept mistakes because some baking channels cut it out and this is inspiring me to not get rid of the mistakes but to OWN them, and im inspired also to be the real me because I can see the real you, so when I bake, go to school or at home, when I make mistakes, I can OWN them instead of loose them 🤗

Hey Laurie, I'm a pastry chef and a small business owner. When it comes to working with real flowers (which I'm pretty sure those are, if not, they definitely look real) , please wrap up the stems! Even tho this cake isn't for sale and you'll be eating it, better safe than sorry. Flowers are sprayed with God knows what and them touching the icing on the top isn't a big deal. But the stems in the cake could be a problem. Just a little tip. 😊 The cake looks amazing tbh, such a cool idea with the edible pictures all around the cake.

Yes she does wrap up the stems of real flowers, these were silk.
When they are real, she uses floral tape because they spray flowers with anything bad to eat. So I think these are fake or she already had them taped.

Don’t do blue. It looks nice for the first few days but it just turns green and dies your hair. I put mine in before Christmas and it’s still in a bit. I love your purple hair!!! Love you lots! 😘

Watching with subs and they keep spelling it "tear" every time, so this works 😅
Instead of dowels or straws, someone I know uses individual kitkats. That way you can eat everything and you have even less waste. :)
Also, wedding cake can look like whatever you want. I had no tiers at all, I had two cakes, one with strawberry filling the other with caramel, and both were just two layers of cake with a filling in between.

@@c.julietofcampjupiter8557 no idea what pocky is, but it has to be quite strong, kitkats are strong enough that you don't need 50 of them. The shape doesn't matter all that much.
If you turn the rose upside down and twist it in your hands (like how people make fire with sticks in movies) it’ll make the petals expand and give you fluffier looking flowers! 🌷

Laurie! It's beautiful! You are an amazing creative artist! Those who say you're too dramatic, or whatever, obviously do not create cakes! I am the same! I stress over every detail, knowing if something doesn't turn out correctly as it's always better in my mind, the correction can be daunting! And then doesn't work either, so now, it becomes, let's do this and hope for the best! Sometimes it does work out just fine, and no one is the wiser!!
