@@johncochrane6039 Sweet Home Alabama was released in 1974, four years before Werewolves of London in 1978... (for those of you incapable of simple math...)
Same here. :) All three have the same melody, and intro, and are equally enjoyed by me. However, Sweet Home Alabama is the original one, if I am not mistaken.
Him talking about the old lady getting mutilated and then kid rock saying she will forever be part of his soul and can’t wait for night to come right after is a perfect connection lol
My mom loves all three of these artists and she doesn't even see the similarities at all, she thinks I'm crazy for thinking they sound the same. If this video doesn't convince her then I don't know what will.
When I get Sweet Home Alabama stuck in my head, sometimes it changes into Werewolves of London, so I searched to see if someone did it, and I love it xD
Today I learned exactly why every time I hear Werewolves I think of Skynyrd, it's cause Kid Rock sampled both of them and I've heard All Summer Long arguably too much over the years 😂 so they are mentally tied together by Kid Rock
Straight up was thinking about this today and if anyone ever did it. I'm so happy to not only find that it's a thing but that it works really well as a thing. This is probably the most fun party song ever made.
So basically this song is about a group of guys from New London, Alabama having a wild summer, with us getting a clue to their personality and state pride.
Happy Halloween to anyone who ever heard the beginning of Werewolves of London and thought "who added Sweet Home Alabama to a Halloween playlist?" Because this problem plagues me every year.
I had the opposite problem: when I first heard "All Summer Long", my first two reactions were "Werewolves of London, good shit" and then "huh, this isn't Werewolves of London".
It's fairly obvious when you listen to All Summer Long. It basically uses the same piano riff as Werewolves of London (listen to both of them), as well as the guitar riff from Sweet Home Alabama (give you three guesses what they're doing all summer long, hint: it's singing a song).
When I was a kid I always got Alabama and Summer Time mixed up as the same song since i haven't heard them as often. But I always knew Werewolves was another song.
So I first was listening to werewolves of London, noticed it sounded familiar to another song remembered all summer long and this reminded me of sweet home Alabama being in the mix too
I love the underlying riff that is the same in all three songs. I have thought about doing this since All Summer Long came out but I do not have the mixing skills or program to do it. But love this mash up. I'm just curious if there has ever been a lawsuit by one artist against another for stealing their music or are Sweet Home Alabama and All Summer Long considered parodies of Werewolves of London?
Werewolves of Alabama all Summer Long
Perfect name as it is correct order.
Yaaaasss

@@thatguyalex2835 Werewolves of London is pretty different; All Summer Long deliberately sampling from two different popular songs is what does it.
Him talking about the old lady getting mutilated and then kid rock saying she will forever be part of his soul and can’t wait for night to come right after is a perfect connection lol
It made sense to make a mashup of these songs, because All Summer long Samples both werewolves of London and Sweet home Alabama!
I have thought for years of doing *just this* and never quite found the time. This is *PERFECTION!* This needed to be done. Thanks!
same chord progression, key, & instrumentation, and the tempo is about the same

@Owen Upham sadly no
It’s literally the same exact song other than the lyrics and a few guitar riffs, your mom is stupid lol.

Me too!! I thought I was the only one for years until I decided to look it up and ended up on this video now I know I’m not crazy 😂
This is freaking perfect. Needs way more views.
Everyone knows that Zevon copied Ed King’s song -
Great mashup!
Simply epic! So much better than the regular "All Summer Long".

I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic’s

Did you pet him?

This is the type of song that would be played at the end of a movie. Ideally Talladega Nights or something.
This mashup goes super perfectly well together!😄🤩😎👌

This is the greatest thing I have ever seen
i LOVE this instrumental part omg 0:59
This seems like a song about British werewolves having a really great summer vacation in Alabama and Michigan
Imagine if Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jordan Zevon (Warren Zevon’s son), and Kid Rock mashed up their songs in a concert.
What a find! Love those three songs but all 3 together? WOW just WOW!!! Thank you for doing this!
I wanted to do this but I'm glad somebody saved me the trouble.
Alabama Werewolves all Summer Long
Absolutely PERFECT!!!! A combination of all three songs in one!! This is awesome!
All sweet werewolves of Alabama
Sweet London Summer
Nice job, I've trying to get my band to do this!
Thats right dylan I found this song.
This is so darn cool.

Lol well both songs were sampled in All Summer Long, so yeah

I've heard a lot of mashups with Sweet Home Alabama as a base - but Werewolves of London sounds like it was always supposed to be there.

true country
Lynyrd Skynyrd is not a countru band. The song was to have a southern twang to it, but definitely not country.

I caught the mix of both songs in All Summer Long. Up till then I never noticed how similar Sweet Home vs Werewolf’s.
Sweet home Alabama is the best of the three

All Summer Long isn't just similar, it's the Werewolves of London backing track with some Southern American twang on top
