Love it! This is from “A Man called Adam “ filmed in 1966. It starred Sammy Davis Jr. as a tortured jazz trumpet player. Great cameos here: Jackie Leonard, Joe Williams, Frank Sinatra Jr., etc. Mel could swing!
Looks like it is from a movie....maybe "A Man Called Adam" with Sammy Davis Jr? All the personalities...Satchmo, George Kirby, Jack E. Leonard, Lola Falana (she tipped me off - she worked a lot with Sammy)
Yes, that's the source. I just replaced the few talking sections with the actual recording, so you get the full song. Here's another improved slice of music from another movie called All Night Long: vimeo.com/413861295
Yes it is, I came on here to make sure it was Mel, I'm watching this movie right now for the first time, can't believe I've never seen it before, great cast, excellent movie
Don't we all wish we were at that party? I would not have been cool enough or have the clothes to wear and my hair would not take to that chic styling. Those women were all elegant and the men so GQ.
@@TbirdsOf1965 ; Excellent Jazz movie. Patrick McGoohan did a great job on drums, and as a hard ass. Charlie Mingus also shows up and jams. "All Night Long" (1962). For some reason, mutleybird; I get the title of this movie mixed up with the title of, "This Could Be The Night" (1957), Tony Franciosa, Neile Adams (wow), and The Ray Anthony Orchestra.
excellent job editing out the portion where the song vocal is temporarily interrupted with the spoken dialogue between Frank Sinatra Jr and the lady speaking spanish - always thought it ruined the flow

Enjoyed watching this in 2020! Thanks
Mel Torme - the most boring, monotone voice imaginable.
You're thinking of Perry Como.
One man's meat is another man's poison. Please remember. England, October, 2024.
