You did it to us on the first day of the season, it happens that way. Thanks for an enjoyable proper fans’ perspective. A big win for us, a bump in the road for you. Good luck in Exeter.
Been to both games Vs Pompey this season, the best side ive seen in the division this season and no doubt youll go up. First time watching this vlog and really appreciate the objective pov, refreshing. Good luck for the rest of the season
Hard to be too critical when we've had such a good season, but the return of Bishop has caused the whole team to become disjointed and flat and that's beyond question. Trying to fit the team around him simply doesn't work. The fans can see it, JM needs to wake up and see it otherwise we're done. Selling Bishop would allow more money to bring in better team players, which we urgently need. People were criticising Bishop last season despite his goals which was harsh, this season its justified, all he does is bumble about and wait for penalties. No chance of promotion if JM doesn't get a firm grip on this squad right now and get us scoring goals again. We'll lose to Exeter and Stevenage if this rubbish continues.
I've been saying the same for quite a while now, while he was injured it gave the team a fresh look and we were looking for different striking options. I just hope that JM doesn't fall into the trap of just picking his favourites, (of which Bishop is undoubtedly one), he's got to look back at those 4 games after Blackpool and revert to that formation.
I completely get the concern about how we struggle to play since a return for Bishop - and I think we did really well with both Yengi and Bishop on and created a lot today during that period of time. Having said that, he doesn’t bumble around waiting for penalties - he’s scored 12 from 21 games with 5 of them from the spot. 23 games to go!
@@Fournilwrittenalloveritcompletely agree Tom bishop is a player that likes to score in the box I believe he’s never scored a goal outside the box he’s usually at the right place right time he’s just been off the pace a bit lately and we will bounce back like we did against Blackpool. PUP 🔵⚪️
BRFC fan here (in peace). Portsmouth best team in the division by miles. Agree with your views on your striker - didn't fit with the rest of your team at all.
As Always Tom, another Brilliant video, Bristol Rovers are a tough team to beat, they beat us 2-1 at Bolton a couple of weeks ago, Im I'm sure Portsmouth will get back on their winning ways sooner rather than later, Just glad Bolton won again and closing that gap to 4pts Long way to go yet mate, and all to play for, Look forward too Friday's video, Keep up the Brilliant work you're doing mate, Keep the faith and as always play up pompey
We came back strongly after Blackpool loss, and we will do it again. Paddy Lane needs to be starting. Colby needs some time after his injury to get match fit and scoring again. PUP
Gashead here.I think Pompey look well organised and professional. Bishop is a handful,Kamara is decent etc.I think you'll go up,1st or 2nd. Rovers deserved the 3 points and we might yet make a challenge for a play off place.
Hi Tom like watching your videos. Good win for my team today and deserved UTG. You will get promoted i am sure. Just the mid season blip all teams go through. Good luck for the rest of the season cheers rich
Great video today Tom, I managed to watch us on iFollow and oh my word. First half was abysmal, multiple poor players, Whyte had no attacking threat, ref was a joke and Bristol reading our plays overloading the right side as on the left we seemed fairly lost! Second half was just as bad although it picked up we’re never clinical, Colby for me needs to really buck his ideas up. Incredibly poor from us today and deserved the loss however, still only two losses this season and still top. See you next week mate, PUP 💙
We had to lose one away sometime. This game could have gone anyway. But, this team will bounce back again, just like after the Blackpool game. Colby needs time to get match fit, any we are not losing Robertson to the Asian Cup. All positive. Need to start Paddy Lane. We need his goal threat. Need a result at Exeter. I will take a point but hope for all 3. PUP
Hope that you Tom and of course Andrew had a really happy Christmas. I have two main concerns. What does Whyte bring to the team? Bishop is not the raw handful that is yengi. How can we fit both bishop and yengi in the same team? Paddy lane is a must, and sparks is key. Robertson may need a break. Thanks as always for a great unbiased video. You are always fair in your comments. Onto Exeter!
It has to be Paddy and Saydee to start for me on Friday Michelle! Bishop and Yengi finished the game together yesterday at the expense of a back 3, which we then conceded (not as a direct consequence, but as a result of) so it's difficult. Bring on Friday! Thanks for watching
It's interesting to get the insight of the opposing fans. Yes, you're right. We outfought you. You didn't mention or show that The Gas hit the post/crossbar in the 2nd half! Finally, it was nice to get our own back with the injury time goal like Pompey did against us in August. Rovers were set for an away day win! Up The Gas! UTG!
I really hope we won't see a slump like we do this time every season. I still believe in this team but we need to change things up on the pitch, also we need to get things right in January. I trust in Hughes and Mousinho to do that, but the question is whether the right players will be available, time will tell, as always, Play Up Pompey. 🔹️🔷️🔵💙 #Pompey
Promoted teams do not take 1 point off of Bristol Rovers and potentially Cheltenham and Fleetwood. I think we will be able to gauge after the fleetwood game where we will finish. 7 points clear at Just before Xmas and 3rd place by Jan 1st ??
We’re doing so well but, just a little concerned at the moment, we were poor against Fleetwood, got absolutely battered by AFC Wimbledon and were at the very least, matched by Rovers. Hopefully : points against Exeter 🤞
An away defeat at Bristol Rovers after losing in the last minute, Lane got us back in it but it was only a consolation, very disappointing that our away run has come to again, we had chances but couldn't convert. But we go again, PUP. 😞🔹️🔷️🔵️💙 #Pompey
Got home from Christmas visit in time to catch the game on the radio . Seems like we reacted really positively to going behind and the equaliser showed that , a pity to lose it at the last . The Christmas games come thick and fast , they always stretch a squad and rotating players can be important . We need to forget this result and come out stronger on Friday . Thanks for your great coverage as usual lads .
We played our best football as a result of going behind David and the substitutions helped us out too. Let's see what happens Friday where I'm sure we'll get a reaction!
firstly i think mouse is doing a great job better than expected, but i dont agree with dropping Yengi just because colby was fit again, Yengi has proven himself with work rate and open play goals, ideally id like to see them both up top together, i think yengi looks more suited to the lone role up top with greater mobility, pace, but colby has strength it would be a decent pairing i think.
Suprised to see so many negative comments about Bishop. I don’t believe he is linked to any of our issues at all, he works tirelessly holds up the ball brilliantly and scores majority of good chances he gets. He can only work with what he’s got and the player around him our lack of width due to Whyte playing negative as well as narrow stopped us stretching their defence and creating any spaces. Nice 20 minute period in the second half, onto Exeter see you there.
12 goals in 21 with 5 from the spot tells you all you need with Bishop - I'm massively with you. 2-3 chances to score in the 20 mins you mentioned that we didn't take. See you Friday!
