Just finished binge watching your videos from buying the boat to this one! Excited to watch your journey as you are just getting started on the boat and see the adventures as they come. Definitely makes me excited for the day I my own.
Loving your sailing experience. A long time coastal and Lake Champlain sailor wanting to say one thing. You all are sharing the sail experience, real and unfiltered. All the good with all the thinking and working that it takes to sail. Well done, much appreciated and respected....❤❤
Just a heads up....once you're between Annapolis and heading north to the C&D , especially around the Patapsco river the water has a flesh eating bacteria in it. It's called Vibrio. If the water temp is above 60 it is very active and basically every where. When we fish or crab these waters we always carry a bleach bottle with us. If you develop a sore or a red hot spot on your skin go to the hospital and tell them you were in the bay. Many times people don't connect the water with the sore. It can be fatal As far as the logs are concerned they come from the Susquehanna river after heavy storms in Pennsylvania and New York
Your show..... reminds me of the phrase..... Game Changer.....Been watching for a while, you two are often stepping into uncharted areas........GREAT JOB
We sail the Chesapeake extensively and kept our boat on Mill Creek within eyesight of where you anchored. It’s a long dinghy ride to Annapolis from there. That was a lot of sailboats, but not that unusual. I know the water isn’t clear, especially after storms that create so much debris (usually from releases from the Conowingo dam up the Susquehanna). Swimming is really only a problem when the water is warm (like 80’s) as it is in many places on the East Coast. I hope you get a chance to spend a bit more time in the Chesapeake before you leave the US. Fall is the best time on the Chesapeake in my opinion.
It is certainly pretty! It would be crazy to be out there when it is "busy" with boats. There is never enough time to explore each place as much as we would like. We for sure hope to spend more time there one day. Loved that anchorage so peaceful.
50 years ago there used to be a sailing school at Annapolis and they often had a fleet out in the bay. My wife and I attended. We even got in a pickup race with some misshapen on the Sevin (sp?) River. The sailing school used Sparkman/Steven's sloops and it was great.
I have the same problem with my head being very small. When bike riding I have to wear a child's helmet😅 I love watching your videos and love your zest for life❤
That might be one bumpy night, if there is a spot that they let you anchor for the night. That is one busy waterway! I highly suggest anchoring across from Mount Vernon and doing a couple of those tours. We spent a month in the Washington channel anchored there touring Washington. That was another great place to go. but you may want to head south soon. The decks get slippery once the frost starts to land on the boat.
I guess your planning on doing the Great American Loop but what I've heard is that the canals close down during the winter. I guess that's due to the ice. Not sure though. Looks like your going to need a new main sail in the next about five years or less.
Our boat is too big for the great loop (although that looks like a good adventure someday) we don't plan to be back on the east Coast (or in the USA) for a long while after this so we wanted to explore as much as we could. Once we say goodbye to the states we hope it will be a good while until we are back (or at least the boat is back).
@@robertlaird6746 if we remove our mast, but we want to sail and keep visiting foreign countries. It's a great adventure for when we're older in a trawler. We can do a lot more of the side channels in a small trawler than in a de-masted Cat. 🤙
I live in the Chesapeake Bay Region so enjoyed it from your sail and perspective. Presume you must have anchored West of the Cape May Ferry Channel. Neat seeing your "Pirate Ship" - in summer it docks at Lewis and Delaware City, DE.
One of the best UA-cam channels I've found. I don't even own a boat, but I would love to one day!!
Wow, thanks!

Yay! It was so nice to meet you and we are excited for your future adventures too! We'll see you out there!
Keeping it real, classy and it really works. You guys have come far in such a short time frame of sailing
Thank you!!!

Thank you! It's a journey to learn to sail!
It is such a joy seeing you each week. Love the content and the very positive vibe. Cheers!
Thanks so much!
Exciting passage….fun times! Jim and Judy in Texas
Thanks Jim and Judy!
Love your genuine description of new sailors 😮. But. Why are you going north in the fall??
We may never be back here again and we want to anchor next to the 🗽 at least once. 🥶
@@SaltySunriseSailingIt’s not worth it! Lol! Have a great time.
Very happy for thr way you all are living. And great videos Kelsey.
Thank you so much!!

Good to know! Thanks for all the info! So far no flesh has been eaten.
“We are on the Delaware river and it’s beautiful” said no one ever. Where are you going? Head south for God’s sake!
Love you vids.
Haha! Almost! We wanted to make it a little bit more north!
10:09 synchronized headbobbing 🥳😂
Lol I didn't notice that. Pretty funny.

Nice episode! Racking up the NM’s! Wayne’s World… “live in the now” 🤣 so quotable! 😎🤘
Yeah! one of the great quotable movies!

I may have missed it, but WHY are you going north when all the other boats are heading south right now?

So glad you enjoyed this one! We actually anchored in the Cohansey River. Such a pretty ship!
