I remember playing this game often at a friend's house as a kid and as I recall, after you "got it" and figured out how to REALLY play it, it got really intense if 2 people playing who know how to play. Like it was legit a great 2 player game that commanded a lot of strategy and attention. I'm sure today it sucks, but my memories of the game were actually good, and I tend to get bored of and impatient at games quickly.

That aim scheme means you can't shoot at me and defend at the same time: If it's on the left then you want it to shoot right, so you move your saber to the right, which leaves your whole left side wide open, but I can't aim there unless I'm also moving to [screen] right to aim there. The next-level stuff comes in when you see where my saber is - and thus where I'm aiming - and you move your saber to compensate, which makes me move mine, then the seeker moves by itself so we both react, then we react to that reaction, and just when we're getting in the groove the damn thing goes into overdrive and tries to murder us both so we have to switch to all-out defense. It was seriously intense, for its time.

@AllPro777 It is fairly easy. The seeker (the orb in the middle) shoots laser bolts (the lightnings). If it is a red lightning, the blue player must block it with the light sabre, if it is a blue one the red player must block it. The goal is to destroy the shield of the opponent.

Gotta love those sound effect, pure 2600, the gameplays a little lacking, it should be called something like Star Wars: Jedi training, cause there isn't much dueling in the game, was it possible for a 2600 game to use both the paddle and joystick, in a game? Cause I have an idea for a homebrew game that if possible would have you using the paddle to aim, and joystick to move around the playfeild
I am hoping to make game that uses both. These days, there is a web site, where you can buy joysticks for old systems, so maybe they will allow us to customize. I'm too lazy to check.
DaveGX players never control where the orb moves, but control the shots until the orb starts going crazy. The shot goes the same direction as your saber, & is the same color. So it’s not all defense.

Once you understand how to play, this is an intense and quite spectacular Parker Bros cart. My favorite of the Star Wars 2600 games by far!

Was a fairly decent game for it's time, though quite obviously a take on Warlords. Still one of the better games from the closing days of the 2600.
