Hello, I have a question. I did a questionnaire on QUALTRICS and imported this data to SPSS. In one of my questions I asked "What is the year that you were born". When I imported my questionnaire into SPSS the years in which the responders were born are not a scale variable. This means that I cannot easily calculate the age of my respondents. Is there any way I can change these variables into scale variables? Thank you!
I had the same problem and found the following solution: 1. also use time wizard, but use „make date-variable from variable with partial date specifications“ 2. choose your variable and put it into „years“ (this method should theoretically also work for dates only given in months, weeks etc). Click „proceed“ 3. give it a name, description and a format (dd,mm,yyyy etc.). Click „Finish“ 4. proceed as shown in the video. I use SPSS in german so this was my own translation of the menus, but I guess its rather clear what you need to click.
U are great man, ur video was huge helpful to me thank you alot man and good luck.
Thank you , this was so easy to follow
Thanks a lot
