@@kermithead4201 Yes and no, these guys have been around since the 90s and have always done a bit of horror based stuff in their music. I don't remember them doing an album based on different horror movies like this, but horror, gore, etc have been a big theme in their stuff.

Aborted have been consistently heavier and more technical throughout their entire existence, and they haven't missed a SINGLE shot in literally 15 years, this album is another pure masterpiece, the most spot on embodiment of brutal death metal 🖤

I couldn't agree more brother these guys are absolutely relentless with how sheer brutal and precise they are as musicians....I literally remember buying their first CD off my buddy rich Lipscomb (r.i.p) of the old Chicago slam band FLESHGRIND years ago towards the late 90's also pyaemia was another band he turned me on to at the same time so I was just completely immersed needless to say ....these guys somehow keep it fresh through all the albums with that same aborted "formula" yet they still are able to push boundaries in different places musically to keep the listener completely intact!!!!!!! I l ove this brutal shit man and I'm 59 years old mother fuggers🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤷
I personally thought they peaked with TerrorVision, the La Grande Mascarade EP, and some songs like Bathos, Cadaverous Banquet, Whoremageddon, and a few Maniacult songs like Portal to Vacuity, I Prediletti: The Folly of the Gods, and A Vulgar Quagmire. But I overall feared they "had already peaked" in 2018-2020 ish and were on their way to stagnation by slightly abandoning the melodic approach they had on TerrorVision.
Jokes on me, holy fuck Condemned To Rot, Hellbound, The Golgothan, and The Shape of Hate are UP THERE among their very best songs!!! And I say that after just 2 listens. They still have so many cool lead guitar parts, melodic / dissonant leads in the background, and tapping, just like they perfected on TerrorVision.
And all delivered with the standard Aborted dynamics (grooves, beat changes, tempo changes, tasty cymbal work, and tight breakdowns), Sven's iconic growls (and inhales), and an even sicker guitar tone than before - SO sharp and "treble-y" but still pleasant to listen to

Lately any time a death metal record comes out and has me thinking "damn this sounds immaculate and huge" he's the man behind it!
@@DaveOteroTube It's good, and especially the guitars sound amazing. But the drums sounds a bit too resampled/triggered and quantized for my taste tbh. It takes away a lot of Ken's natural dynamics.

This is a tremendous album. I think it's my favorite by them. It's one of those rare albums that push through all the way to the end never slacking off. The killer tracks go from start to finish.

I first picked up the purity of perversion album in 99 when I was 17. This album is an opus for their career. Only got to see them once during the summer slaughter tour. Can't wait to see them for this album

This record is the best one they've done in recent years, Aborted has always been a pretty active and consistent band, but this album is on another level for me.
This and the Dying fetus album is like gold
man, this is just some of the best death metal ever, every song is its own unique slice of the genre. I would recommend this to anyone looking to delve into any aspects of extreme metal. out for a day and already feels iconic.

Well, this record may as well end up in the top tier of DM classics in time. Phenomenal stuff and im onoy a couple of tracks in. I used to listen to Aborted a lot in the 00's. They've surely matured like a fine wine, this is just straight up modern DM prrfection.
