The TALON Oil Filter Tool was created to remove stubbornly stuck oil filters. It can be used on everything from cars and motorcycles, to boats, to even aircraft! The tool has been through some changes through the years and the latest version is the strongest and most effective yet. It’s designed to be safe in tight quarters and unable to slip, attempting to minimize damage to nearby components. This is still a messy process but this tool is your best chance of removing stuck filters without damaging anything else. Just pop the Talon on a 3/8 drive extension and ratchet and it gets the job done!
The “screwdriver method” mentioned in the video is a means of removing a stuck oil filter by ramming a screwdriver through the entirety of the can and twisting. This can sometimes work, but depending on the toughness of the metal as well as how tight the filter is stuck, it may leave it mangled, making it impossible to twist it further. It can also be an impossible or very difficult method if there’s little space to work with.

I tried everything except an air hammer because I don’t have a compressor.
I have no words to describe my level gratitude.
Everyone told me to take it to the shop.. pfft, never! And now for $50 I’ll rest assured that no matter how bad my oil filters get, it is coming out one way or another.

I believe it was a 700 lb gorilla that install this filter about 15 years ago. All other means of removal were exhausted. This tool did the job!! Well Done Safe Jack

I’m on day 8 trying to get my oil filter off, it’s just the top now, the can and filter element is long shredded off. I saw this video and bought one immediately! Can’t wait for it to come!

I was attempting to remove a Fram ph8a filter on my 64 ford f100. The larger bolts were to big and didn’t fit in the filter holes, no problem, the kit came with thinner bolts, an easy swap. I lined up the tool with the filter , used all my strength, and it didn’t budge! I then tried again and broke a bolt it was on there so tight! I replaced it with supplied extras and tried again, it finally broke free! If it wasn’t for this great tool I’d really be in trouble! Thank You! Small video very soon on UA-cam to follow.

This didn't work for me at all... didn't even fit my filter on a 23 corolla hatchback!!! Waste of money. Part of me wondered if these were even legit comments on here!!!

Would this product work on a lawn mower oil filter? I see that there are smaller bolts for smaller holes, just not sure if they're small enough.

The Talon will work on most lawn mowers and most oil filters in general, however we still encourage you to take note of your specific application. The Talon comes with #10 (0.194) and 6MM (0.236) screws, and is adjustable down to .95" in two prong mode for small oil filters.
