I saw the film this weekend, and if I could pay for every human being to see it, I would. This interview with Ava (and Jon) only illuminated even more what a brilliant adaptation this is.
I saw the film on Friday with a couple of friends. We each represented an aspect of the castes in the societies that were explored in the film. It was a powerful story with a deeper idea than how we often talk about bigotry of many kinds. The ending idea is to imagine what human society would be like if we did away with caste.
This interview, film, cast, book, and of course Ava DuVernay herself is absolute perfection. I will never be the same after this film and for good reason. Caste is groundbreaking and everyone needs to see and read it.
I love African-American women like Ida B Wells, Isabel Wilkerson, Ava Duvernay, Nicole Hannah Jones, Michelle Alexander, Melissa Victoria Harris - Perry (formally known as Melissa Victoria Harris - Lacewell, is an American writer, professor, television host, and political commentator), with a focus on African-American policies and politics (Who has made a positive difference for us all to follow and emulate). You all make me a proud African-American, and spark much Joy in me and many others, and make the world a better place to live in for us all and future generations! I loved Isabel’s masterpiece book “The Warmth of Other Suns”. Her book “Caste” did not get the recognition it deserves because it cuts too close to the bone concerning what BIPOC lives with in the USA Today. Think You, Ava Duvernay for making the deserved recognition happen for Isabel Wilkerson. God bless you for being so wonderful, brilliant, and vivacious! You made my UA-cam playlist and day.
She has a beingness that is rare and demands respect, man or woman. With that, comes an equal amount of responsibility. From what I see, she’s carrying it well. Glad to be alive to witness a queen that successfully addresses both kings and commons alike.
A Breath of Fresh Air as the movie scene has really died with the exception being, the last Mel Gibson movie on child trafficking. What an amazing human being she is….. Praise the Lord. And thank you for choosing our Stan Walker for the amazing opportunity to show his real talents along with the support of a whole nation!! Aotearoa/New Zealand
