The film is a masterpiece, and soon will be considered a classic.

I watched All of Us Strangers for the first time three days ago and again yesterday, and it's still haunting me. The first time I watched it, at the end of the movie, I was actually REALLY upset and mad. AOUS made me cry tears I didn't want to cry. The last time I felt upset at a movie for making me feel things I didn't want to feel was A Clockwork Orange 15 years ago. I watched a lot of Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal interviews, but still, I didn't expect the movie to be so heavy and dark. I was hoping for a love story that would make me feel something similar to what I felt for Call Me by Your Name, for example, one of my favorite love stories. BUT IT REALLY DIDN'T, and both movies have very little in common. My mistake. I knew, though, that I needed to give it time (two days...) because the movie was objectively very good, just not what I could handle at the time, especially the end of the third act after Adam finds out about Harry.
So, I watched it again yesterday, and I watched the end several times (spoilers) when Adam tells Harry, "You are not in there, you are not in there, you are not in there, you are here with me" (or something like that). That conversation is one of the most emotional and beautiful things I've seen on screen. I'm trying to remember a time in my life where I had to go inside of me to reach what Adam had to reach to comfort Harry (or witness it in someone else), and quite frankly, I can't remember feeling something close. Maybe parents do when their kids are in deep pain? But it was so powerful. That mix of love and care and strength (the word "care" is not strong enough)... the way he looks at Harry, the tone and intonation of his voice... I wish an interviewer would ask Andrew Scott where he had to go to know how to play that since, again, it's not exactly common to see or feel that in real life AND in fiction. Idk, it really made quite an impression on me and it's my favorite part of the movie.
Now, my only real criticism is regarding the love scenes. The camera movements are not subtle enough, and I can see that a camera is filming them. Also, the frames were sometimes disgraceful, like for example cutting the characters' faces in half for no apparent reason, and there were too many close-ups for my taste. I feel like I could not really take time to appreciate what was happening without the camera trying to force my vision onto something. It really became better the last time they were naked together. Also, I wish there were more of them (love scenes), but it didn't make me believe less in their love at all. Quite the contrary. Those two were fabulous together, which made the end even more heartbreaking (I don't want Adam to be alone again, please), and the 15-year-old fangirl in me wishes the actors were together in real life. Andrew Scott, who I love, is incredible in this movie. His best performance I've seen so far (never seen him on stage, though). Idk how he didn't get any big nominations yet because what he does is out of this world. I've only seen Paul Mescal in Normal People before, and here, with Harry, he has much more room to go deep, and he was also very powerful and real. Idk what state of mind one has to embrace to perform like that and, to me, it looks like magic at this point. I love them both, and I hope they are happy. (I also hope that Adam is happy now and that he finds love again *heavy sobs*).

Oh? I've heard so many interviews of Andrew Scott at that point and I actually appreciated the questions a lot. They were quite original and I learned things I never heard him say before.

The basic questions allowed for very smart answers, this is what matters, doesn't it?

@@patiencekillz it was simply a slow, depressing movie. Thin plot. He only reacted to dead people. Great acting but why…..I think I was expecting so much because of the UA-cam hype and it simply did not deliver.
