I'm curious to see how you get 20kW out of this. From what I've seen on the emission control information stickers on these 5 series engines (D905,D1005,D1105) @ 1800rpm I'm not certain you can get 20kW out. D905/9.7kW, D1005/10.8kW, D1105,12.6kW. Even at 1800rpm turbo would provide some performance boost. I'm thinking your theoretical max would be 15kW @1800rpm.

The D1105T engine is rated at 31.5 HP (23.5 KW) at 3000 rpm and peak torque is 63 foot pounds (86 NM) at 2000 rpm. So theoretically it should be capable or close to it. However if it ever sees a 20kw load I will be surprised. I have no way of testing it or putting that kind of a load on it with a resister bank. If it does make 20kw (and see that kind of loads) it will be working it so hard that life expectancy of that little engine will be pretty short. 20KW was just a guesstimate on output based on engine horsepower and is definitely not written in stone. I have not purchased a generator head yet so when I do I will likely buy whatever I can get the best price on whether its more or less than 20kw it will be in that ballpark. I could hook it up to a 30KW head it just would make whatever the engine is capable of before it starts dropping the rpm below 1800. If I find a screaming deal on a 30KW (or something else in the ballpark of 20+-) that is what it will get it will just have obvious power limitations that fall far short of 30kw This generator will be used as a battery charger for our power system so the load will be able to be set very constant when needed and it will not likely even be over 10KW. I have a 60KW generator that I can use for any really big loads if I need it.

@@kedfarmrepairs i was planning on using mine to provide backup power as a standby generator for my house. i've estimated around 15kW for my peak power needs. i'm currently looking at genhead model CGG164D sold by central georgia generator. These are custom built based on flywheel/bellhousing measurements, phase requirements, etc. Curious if you can find a better deal.

Do you sell D1005 rebuilt motors? Or can I ship you one and you rebuild?

hello, I have a kubota 725D on my grasshopper mower. 2500hours on it. yesterday I heard the engine knocking. Then the coolent got into the oil!! blew maga smoke. What would cause this?? thanks

If it started knocking then dumped coolant in the oil and started smoking my guess is that connecting rod that was coming apart came apart and put a hole into the cylinder wall dumping the coolant
