What we find is pretty interesting. #MinneapolisMoline #CrackedHeads #m602 diesel #D-336
Engine Disassembly: What Did We Find? John Deere 1010 Crawler Loader 115.5
Переглядів 2,5 тис.2 роки тому
Today we pulled the 115.5 apart out of the John Deere 1010 Crawler loader. We pulled out the pistons and found a lot of junk in the ring grooves and numerous stuck rings. Some of the bearings looked ok but some of them are definitely garbage. The governor seems to be broken and was hitting the cam gear because of it. The piston ring lands are pretty trashed so the pistons are not reusable. Then...
Engine Removal and Diagnosis! Why Did it Lock Up???John Deere 1010 Crawler Loader
Переглядів 3,1 тис.2 роки тому
Today we pulled the grille, radiator and hydraulic pump off of the John Deere 1010 crawler loader to rule out the hydraulic pump being the cause of the engine that wouldn't turn over. Once we confirmed that the engine was indeed locked up we removed it from the crawler and brought it in the shop and took the head off. #crawler #johndeere #loader #deerecrawler #115.5
Why Won't It Run?? Compression Test: John Deere 1010 Crawler Loader ?
Переглядів 9502 роки тому
Today we did a compression test on the John Deere 1010 crawler loader. We then dug into the engine a little bit to try to get to the bottom of the compression test results. We ended up taking the intake and exhaust manifold off and found that there was some sort of pelleted feed in the intake ports. The valve lash also seems to be all over the place too but I'm not sure if that is a symptom or ...

We bought yet another project. This one is a John Deere 1010 Crawler Loader. Hopefully this one needs minimal work and we can get it running fairly easily and get some use out of it. I was looking for a dozer but stumbled across this and had to get it. This thing was local and the price was reasonable. #crawler #johndeere #loader

I must have missed it, what was the fix?
Hi there I hope this finds you well. I tore apart a farmhall 400 TA which is very similar and was wondering if you know how or have any advice how to get the piece that had the rollers and springs and pins back onto the torque amplifier piece when assembling back together??? The rollers just keep popping out when trying to assemble
Hallo, wie sind die Einstellwerte für Ventile ?
Forklift model, years ?
How wild were your front wheel in 5th getting ready to do my 42 H distillate and in 5th those wheels are like a jeep with the desth wobble lol
Mine too and I was hoping that he would take the steering wheel shaft out so I could see my problem
Thank you for all the detail
I had a 3 cylinder Volvo diesel in my last boat. Liked everything about that motor except for the ECM. They bolted it directly to the engine and it would get hot and inevitably fail.
Love the videos, hate the music it makes it hard to understand what is being said. Thanks
What brand is the gasket set that some are wrong and most are thin paper ???
Do you sell D1005 rebuilt motors? Or can I ship you one and you rebuild?
I have a 1.7 litre Kubota that I’m having timing issues. (Previously rebuilt and they couldn’t get it running) when the idler gear marks line up with all other gears should piston 1 be TDC? Because when mine are all lined up it’s at BDC
Did you get your parts. Waiting to watch #7
Hey there. I have a marinized D1105 that I'm putting back together and I stumbled across this video...great stuff, really learned a lot. I have one question. Right at 27:55 -- what is that screw/spring part with the adjuster (which in your video is covered with a crimped fitting) on the outside of the timing gear cover? When I installed the timing gear cover, I just slapped it on but I had to swap that screw/spring over from another timing gear cover so I'm hoping it's adjusted properly. But I still don't know what it's for...I imagine something in the injection pump? But nothing connects to it...? Any insight much appreciated.
Hello, I have a two-cylinder Kubota, it works for a small car truck, from Italy called Casalini Kerry It had a Mitsubishi engine from the company, but I couldn't find one like that, so I made a conversion and installed this engine, unfortunately I have a problem that I would like to describe to you The engine starts in the morning with a lot of effort, I have installed a second battery, but the engine has no speed when starting, I have to charge the batteries in the evening so that I have enough power in the morning, then I have to start my second car and turn it on I put a stone on the pedal so that I have more revolutions, after a long start it starts, sometimes it doesn't because my batteries are empty, it's torture Do you have any idea what I can do, but I can't fit a 100 Ah battery and I don't have room for it, one is 62 Ah, the other is under the bed and is 45 Ah I thank you in advance for your help
Use Vaseline to hold oring helps
Привет, двигатель поставил? Продолжение будет?
Rebuilding my swing cylinders and I missed the set screw also. 😂
yup I felt pretty dumb and was not happy with myself on that one.
That is one awesome loader.DETROIT POWER Baby
Great job on video!, can you please tell me where you got the rebuild kit? My boys have the same tractor with same valve and same issues. Thanks
Good stuff Jake
My IH 544 TA clutch pressure plate broke in 5 pieces but the TA Planetary was working. I decided to take it apart anyway and found two missing springs and plugs and one fractured roller so its a good idea if your that far into it to take it apart. Did you ever finish this project?
Part 2????
I have a tt2221-1 transmission in my loader running 15w40 motor oil. It needs to rev high to move. Do you prefer the Dexron?
Is there a tool to install injector cups ?
Good job 👍👍 sir
ever get it put back together
Sucks about the heads. Hope you were able to find some for at least a somewhat reasonable price. Was it running hot?
When I was about that boys age my father would send me out to do something and I would say, I don't know how to do that, and my father would say you will by the time you are done.
Is there any particular area that I would look at for no oil pressure?
oil pump, spun bearing, valvetrain broke and lifter pushed out and the list can go on and on. could be as simple as a bad sending unit or gauge.
I have a Kubota D1105 off a grasshopper. Do all these engines have factory sleeve? Mine needs rebuilt. Not sure if I can just try removing them or take it and have it bored out.
no they are a non sleeved engine they are intended to be more of a throw away and buy new type of a deal
@@kedfarmrepairs They can be rebuilt Kubota and Quality parts offers an over sized Piston 20 thousands over or .50 mm. he left a shit ton of information in this video. Piston has arrows on it buy the wrist pin and numbers on the rods always go to the injection pump side of the engine. The engine can also be sleaved
What’s the difference between the 722D and this model?
When is the video of first start and gen build? Cant wait.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤩
So did it fix the wobble..I'd like to see a test drive
Not 100% but it is I would say 85% better. It was hard to drive before but now its pretty good. I think to make it perfect a guy would have to re-bush the whole bolster. We run it with a couple psi uneven tire pressure and it doesn't wobble at all that way.
Good afternoo Did You cranl it on? How good it run?
Good day I was watching video again Did u get it fixed? U talk about auto trans. for car I think? When showing pitting on bearings, Do u think they used heavy gear oil or HY-tran? Thanks for now
great video, showing every step. literally have the same issue and wasn't sure how the heads came off, nice to see someone do it
is this good engines? i must long worm to start always summer or winter
Nice job sar 👌
Nice job 👍
Unfortunately, I had a hiccup. Forgot to remove lifters before turning the d902 over. 4 out of the 6 fell out to the ground. It is a relatively low hour motor, right around 300 hours. Can I get away with not replacing them?
Honestly what I would do is send them out and get them resurfaced. I do all my own here but what I would do if I was you is send them to Daniel Powell at Powell Machine he has a dedicated setup and does a LOT of them. You can look up @powellmachineinc3179 here on youtube and see a lot of what he does.
Nice having son and daughter in the shop seeing basic engine tech and turning wrenches. So, to me it's about hours of run time in the future ... If less than 50 hrs a year, I'd just see what I could do with the old pistons, a 0.005" hone on the bores, new rings, and back together. If it's going to run and work regularly, then that's a another story ...
It is pretty awesome having the kids in the shop working on things and being able to teach them some basic life skills. The ring lands on the pistons are trashed, the pistons are scrap metal. I'm not one to put something together that's not right. Something I am trying to teach my kids is that if its worth doing, it's worth doing right. There is way too much of "good enough" train of thought these days and I am trying to be a good example on this, although sometimes it's hard and my wallet says HE** no.. As an engine builder you learn real fast what works and what doesn't and any damage to the ring lands definitely falls into the "doesn't work" category. The machine also belongs to Dylan who is obviously pretty young so it'll need to last for a while. Once we get this thing back into running condition I don't think it'll ever get shut off unless its getting worked on or out of gas. When I am too busy to doing paying work to help him work on his crawler and need to find him, most of the time I can find him sitting on some random tractor , dozer, crawler or anything else he is dreaming about driving. He will have plenty of opportunity once we start building some roads and buildings at our property up north. We have also made progress on his machine and there will be more videos on that coming fairly soon. Hopefully he will be driving it around here soon Thank you for watching and thank you for the comment, I appreciate the input.
Super helpful. I don't know a great deal about starters/solenoids and I'm trying to fix my wifes grandfathers 1010 tractor.
Feel free to post any questions that you may have or email me directly. I am happy to help or at least try to help.
hello, I have a kubota 725D on my grasshopper mower. 2500hours on it. yesterday I heard the engine knocking. Then the coolent got into the oil!! blew maga smoke. What would cause this?? thanks
If it started knocking then dumped coolant in the oil and started smoking my guess is that connecting rod that was coming apart came apart and put a hole into the cylinder wall dumping the coolant
I'm curious to see how you get 20kW out of this. From what I've seen on the emission control information stickers on these 5 series engines (D905,D1005,D1105) @ 1800rpm I'm not certain you can get 20kW out. D905/9.7kW, D1005/10.8kW, D1105,12.6kW. Even at 1800rpm turbo would provide some performance boost. I'm thinking your theoretical max would be 15kW @1800rpm.
The D1105T engine is rated at 31.5 HP (23.5 KW) at 3000 rpm and peak torque is 63 foot pounds (86 NM) at 2000 rpm. So theoretically it should be capable or close to it. However if it ever sees a 20kw load I will be surprised. I have no way of testing it or putting that kind of a load on it with a resister bank. If it does make 20kw (and see that kind of loads) it will be working it so hard that life expectancy of that little engine will be pretty short. 20KW was just a guesstimate on output based on engine horsepower and is definitely not written in stone. I have not purchased a generator head yet so when I do I will likely buy whatever I can get the best price on whether its more or less than 20kw it will be in that ballpark. I could hook it up to a 30KW head it just would make whatever the engine is capable of before it starts dropping the rpm below 1800. If I find a screaming deal on a 30KW (or something else in the ballpark of 20+-) that is what it will get it will just have obvious power limitations that fall far short of 30kw This generator will be used as a battery charger for our power system so the load will be able to be set very constant when needed and it will not likely even be over 10KW. I have a 60KW generator that I can use for any really big loads if I need it.
@@kedfarmrepairs i was planning on using mine to provide backup power as a standby generator for my house. i've estimated around 15kW for my peak power needs. i'm currently looking at genhead model CGG164D sold by central georgia generator. These are custom built based on flywheel/bellhousing measurements, phase requirements, etc. Curious if you can find a better deal.
Listen to that Detroit sing, music to my ears.
Kylee asked me "dad why does it sound like its screaming?" I had to chuckle. They aren't called a screaming jimmy for no reason sweetheart..
What about the stud in the timing cover with the idle spring. I pulled the cap off to get the cover off and the stud came out. How did you adjust your on reassembly
Brother sorry to say that but you are not a good mechanic
thanks for the compliment
I have one of these, for puchase; 1010 crawler loader.
Location and price? Details on the machine?
