No one has ever accused Brian Shaw of being dumb. And he certainly isn't dumb. He's clearly showing us all that he is quite quickly learning from his previous Strongest Man on Earth competitions and improving the format and the competition year on year. Drawing from the experience of some veteran top level strongmen to improve his competition is not only smart, but also unites the strongman community. I always expected Brian to exceed World Strongest Man, to create a better competition and to give the strongman fans a more accurate picture of who the Strongest Man on Earth is. But I didn't expect him to do it quite this fast. Hats off to you Brian!
What has made this comp get so big so fast is that this show is for the athletes by the athletes. to have these 4 four saying I wish we had this type of event when we were competing shows you how much thought goes into the show.
The most exciting things ng about the Olympic weightlifting format in the deadlift is the chance to see competitors pick a weight to try and jump ahead of the guy in front of them. Awesome format.
As a long term strongman fan caught up in the current deadlift and overall strength progression I clicked on this straight away. A real honour to have this star studded super qualified panel. Big fan of all you guys.

I saw WSM posted on fb "save the date". But I just scrolled passed it because I am Swedish and cant see it. This video however I clicked and enjoyed AND it got me hyped for the deadlift and the new format. LOVE IT! 👏👏

Something I'd love to see is a comp where there's an opportunity to gain more point by winning by more weight. So if you win an event and have max points, you could gain an extra point for breaking a world record and more points for just pushing it further. Or say on a deadlift 1 guy hits 502kg and wins, he could gain an extra point by going for 512kg
@@antoniocenteno1483 I don't know. There's probably a few guys who can pick up these points and we've seen how close these comps can get. If you knew you were capable of getting a world record in an event you'd already won but you knew second place had better events coming up you might try to give yourself that cushion. It's an extra pay out for the record and more again if it bumps you up a place in the end.
This is amazing. 4 of the best to do many things. So many great points, and this is automatic hype for the SMOE! Way to go Brian. I think Thor wins this event, but it won't be easy. He's got a big target on him.
My niece is a Kazmaier, so IMO, no one can beat Thor! Love the sport guys! Let's keep it going! Fans are everywhere but youtube presence is important. I know Rogue will always support. They're great people. I too support 💯! This sport won't ever go away but internet presence is a must. Love you all!❤❤❤
Thor is definelty the favorite to win the Deadlift. However, he might have jumped of the 505 ship for this show, he has mentioned he rather do it equipped and he is focusing on winning the whole thing. However he is still going for the raw record wich is 465KG by Jerry. So it will be likely he goes like this: 420KG for the opener (The one he has to make); 455KG for the win (The one he should make); 470KG for the record (the one he want to make).
Yeah...you can forget o'l Thor buddy...He's going to get stomped into the dirt in this comp. let alone get anywhere near a podium. He's there for celebrity...thats it
Its nice to see everyone on the same page, focusing on getting the most out of all the athletes. There have been too many events over the years that put some at an advantage and others at a clear disadvantage. Whats best for the athletes and the sport, is to see the biggest numbers possible being put up.

Well he definitely wouldn’t have made them feel bad but I feel he just isn’t used to video calls like this, Brian/Loz/Jerry all have podcasts or UA-cam lives that they use those rooms for while I don’t believe Terry does
I wanna see what the new contraption will be (hopefully)...and maybe award a belt instead of a trophy? I'd say trophy sword but the UK seems to have basically outlawed plastic spoons at this point. A hammer trophy is cool.. just a thought. OR maybe a replica York plate trophy with something on it.

I love raw lifting events because it is closest to the way humans have been lifting for centuries. The closer it gets to see heavy, lift heavy the more I usually like it.

There should be a separate reward for breaking the record like they did for the rogue 500kg one. Otherwise, there is too much risk since theyre not gonna risk the competition for one event. Thor already mentioned that he isnt going for the record this year anyways

Pritchett is sooooooo under recognised in deadlift names of achievement. He's lifted some of the top lifts in history.
He’s not under recognised by me. He’s me of my favourite strength athletes. Just gets on with it and at the top of deadlifting for so long.

Brian seem to remember 2019 asc wrong, thor pulled 1046 as his 2nd lift. His 3rd attempt was 1100

As I see it Brian is the smartest and most committeed, most serious of all strongman I have seen. Also modest and humble, very easy to like him.

Breaking a Deadlift record, or any record, on the first event of the first day is very risky.
