This was really helpful and valuable. I'm wondering what your advice would be on how to proceed if one was proceeding without choosing a niche because of it being too early. Like, what things to do to ensure that although you haven't chosen a super narrow niche yet, you can still know you're targeting your messaging to the right people, in the right ways, based on how they would actually describe their problem. How do you find clarity on what problem you're solving before actually knowing that your system works for other people?

This was a superb alternative explanation on how to define niche and yes, niche is definitely one of those weird abstract terms that means different things to different people. Niche is definitely not where you start... not even where you end up. Instead, I see it as a narrowing developed focus over time along with your mastery and understanding of the types of problems you solve. It's something we all tend to overthink, for sure. As a coach you can help people with so many things because we are changing mind- and emotional set which in return influences everything from personal to professional life - I sometimes joke that I could be facilitating organisational change, as well as personal trauma healing, as well as e.g. getting out of debt, childcare, starting a business and most of the other examples you gave. And it isn't even not true. I am trying hard to stick to a niche, but honestly - I wish I wouldn't need to.

In fact… I think I defined the audience niche by defining the value one of which was… “helping people lose weight for life without needing to hire a personal trainer.” And then those who didn’t want to waste unnecessary money for life, and those who were motivated to change their life, naturally gravitated towards me, and they ended up being CEOs, business owners and high performing professionals. I will keep doing this for my new courses, thanks dear!
My strategy is the one that nike used :just do it and target the whole world and let the people decide for them self . Be everywhere as far as marketing and just do it ! Pull the trigger!!

YESSS! I got stuck on my niche for 2 years and that didn't move the needle in my biz. I was so frustrated because I wanted to help everyone lol When I finally found the one that was for me + leveraging my uniqueness, that's when every changed for me

Great advice! I always hear that you should first niche down when opening up a shop. And it's hard to choose! It's good to hear that it's okay to not go narrow down the niche esp in the beginning, but still picking up a broader direction as to where the business should lean to. This would be my game plan. I'd focus on the customer's experience. What they will enjoy and experience would be a great selling point. Also add your own special touch like a personalized gift basket of their fav chocolates or maybe a great wine or maybe discounted excursion....etc. Make it occasion-appropriate. EX. Honeymoon...First baby....Career promotion....Engagement....Other Milestone achievement.
No matter what you achieve, so far you are at the approval of others (capitalism / economy of popularity / survival of the fittest ) you will never any real have dignity. The only real dignity is to live off of the land that you personally occupied and defend, not depending on anyones approval. You are basically sevring other people, not your own ideas, because you have to sell yourself.
I have another UA-cam channel about balancing hormones for women over 40. However, I'm not passionate about this niche anymore. I only have 757 subscribers and afraid I may loose subscribers.
This is mind opening. Focus on defining the value your business provides. I never resonated with the niche strategy but more of the target audience but this is the value I’ve been missing.
