Very nice video Colin. Thankyou for spotting the error in the manual regarding the location of that icon. The next batch of the weather stations will have a new version of the manual, with this corrected & the pdf download has already been updated on our website. (I'm the Marketing Manager for ACCUR8). Keep up the great work! 🤓
Good video which came in handy after purchasing the ACCUR8 DWS7100 7-in-1. What's missing is the setup of an additional console in the instruction manual. I agree with the comments below that an step by step procedure by an app for any device will make the whole setup much easier. The current procedure is archaic and you need to have a reasonable handle on how network connections work.
indeed the outdoor sensors that break down quickly, especially the wind speed spinning top This is usually entirely made of plastic and the rods break quickly. You simply pay good money for a good weather station.
I have a Ventus W205-U weather station here 1½ years later outside sensor station was broken. A cup of the windcubs spinning top was broken off. I glued it, it remains weak. I also have the idea that the plastic is affected by weather influences and UV light. Good spinning top consist of three parts hub stainless steel rods and good quality cubs.
The windcups are a consumable item that the consumer should be able to replace if you can source replacement parts. That is one thing that bugs me with some manufacturers , they don't readily supply parts.
They're happy to take turns. Alex is the star of a video which is due for release in a few weeks. That's a 1 hour special on a technology subject which is not directly related to video, but very interesting and not done by anyone in the UK before.
You'll never get true wind direction unless you mount it high up. A chimney stack or above the apex of your house roof is the best. They work so much better . Even the temperature readings benefit because of increased air flow to the screen.
@@video99couk There's a lot to consider and it is challenging to site a weather station. My solution was to mount it on the rear wall of my property and slide the pole down when servicing is needed.

What’s the range of the wind/rain sensor that you attached to your shed?

I hope that doesn't happen, this wasn't cheap.

Trouble is though, it then becomes very hard to replace batteries, clean the rain gauge tipper and generally maintain the unit.
