Hi! This is an incredible summary of the fun things on do on Gili! I leave for Bali in 1 week as a solo traveler and this would be helpful. Can you please link the ferry + van you booked from Canggu, which company you used for the snorkelling, diving and subwinging. TIA :)
Yes agree! I can imagine the boat traffic + beach traffic are adding to the devastation of the environment. Kudos to them for collecting a small tax frm visitors. Hopefully the money goes to infrastructure like a port to protect the beach + environment 👌 We are a fam of 5 going to Gili T for a month in Feb. which was your fav budget restaurant/warung? Which beach was your fav? Thks for sharing 🙏
This might be a dumb question but did you both have diving certificates? My husband wants to do it but not sure if he should do his certificate here or wait till bali?
The short answer is no you don’t need it, but I would highly recommend getting your Open Water Cert! If not, you will have to enquire the dive shops about doing ‘Discovery Dives’ which will include them teaching you the ins and outs of diving without getting certified. Blake is a PADI Divemaster and Eli is PADI Advanced Open Water certified. I would recommend if you’re at all interested in diving get your cert now! It will make your dives while traveling much more enjoyable than just the Discovery Dive experience. Have fun!!
150$ for van and ferry ?! You got finessed… gojek canggu to sanur is about 7$ total and the ferry is 24$ per person. Tbh for everybody wanting to go to gili t… just dont, it‘s a complete rip off and not nearly as magical instagram/youtube suggests. Those horsebuggies are not cheap 70k-150k depending on where you live and you are almost forced to take them, as you won‘t be able to ride a bike with all your lugagge. Sunsets are mid, prices are high and it‘s as touristic as it can get. Snorkelling is the only good thing it has to offer. Just my opinion
that was $70 a person for a private transfer from our place in Canggu to the port and the boat. We did not want to take a gojek with all our things and camera gear. Gili T we believe is overhyped and we prob won’t be back but people can make their own decision if it’s worth it to them
@@OnTodaysAdventurepublic ferry between the gilis is 15-25k per person, they go from the beach not the pier. This way you allso avoid the harbour fee (when coming from Lombok) harbour fee they only charge on the newly build pier. 5 years ago when pier wasnt there they allso didnt charge it 😊 Went there 4x in last 6 years, going again in 2 weeks. Met my girlfriend there (local) 😊 and now around 60 dives around the gilis😅 still love the place though😊
14:23 You don't need to pay that if you use a private port. but you have to pay that if you enter a government port
I've heard a lot of great things about the Gili Islands. Scuba diving to that shipwreck looked really cool!
It really is!
Keren.apa ada rencana vlog ke pulau komodo

Great video!! Living on a shoestring budget!! XOXOX
Wow. What the hell happened to the Gili's? I had heard they'd been developed but I had no idea it was as bad as that.
Covid really hit the Gilis hard. I have heard its much more lively now and recovered!
Ha ha, I just saw you in Walgett NSW
Are you sure? We are in Alaska :)

And by snorkelling I mean the sear for turtles and the beautiful reef at the north. These statues at meno aren‘t worth it

@@THERM0KINGShips are the main and only means of transportation on small islands in Indonesia. so it is often subsidized by the government
If I spent any more than $15 a day in Indonesia I would be upset.
Sometimes that’s possible but with trips like this I would say that’s unrealistic, just the ferry itself can be expensive during high season.
