Interesting kites in a Sunday fly

- My 2,105th kite video. It's always good when the weather permits flying on Sunday afternoon, as Colin comes and Peter is usually there too, so conversation plays as big a part as flying.

Kites have certainly come a long way since I was a kid. Awesome!!
They have, but a lot of people never see kites and are not aware of that.

We just had another pleasant Sunday fly today, Carl. Peter, Colin and Brendan were all there, but you were absent without leave again. I expect to see you back on parade soon, or a court martial might have to be considered.

The Scintillation is a very attractive and unusual kite, but sadly it has been out of production for a few years now, like most of Into The Wind's designs.
I was wondering where my daily dose of kites was, looks very nice!
We've been a bit short of suitable weather in the last week or so, Evan, but I'm trying to fly when ever possible. I'm glad yo enjoyed it.
I like the Rainbow Butterfly. It is beautiful and flies well. What a wonderful fly-day with colourful kites and soft piano music.
I am back from my Taiwan family vacation. My client is asking me to go to Bangkok in 2 week's time for a video job. Wife and me going to Sichuan in 4 weeks for another vacation. This will be an interesting year for me. My channel performance will drop as I will be uploading videos of places that my viewers may not be interested in watching. However I still have a core group of friends like yourself, who will support me all the way. Thanks Jim 😀
It's a pity that Butterfly is not made anymore. You are certainly having a busy year, so I hope you can relax a little on your vacation trips, although I know you still work on your UA-cam videos. I look forward to seeing all of your productions. Have fun!
@@JimNicholls I enjoy making movies and have been doing this since the days of VHS tapes in the 1970s, long before UA-cam came into existence. I love it when I am able to capture images of places and people in their natural surroundings. Just like you finding happiness in flying kites and sharing them with people.
I love kite flying when I was a kid. So now I find time to watch your videos as this reminds me of my happy days. My kites were simple hand made, crude ones back then.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Dewey. Flying days seem to be getting fewer at the moment as we head into winter and the weather is more unsettled, but we do our best to fly whenever possible.

Love seeing your scintillation. Always wich i bought one years ago.
It's attractive and different. Very sad that most of the Into The Wind kites are still out of production, and it's looking more and more likely that most of them will never return.
I'm also sorry to see the decline in they kite inventory. Bought 4 or 5 kites, and I wanted to add more. Well, I still can enjoy your videos
I remember that very long tail kite when I drove truck at Sunday. I like that one. The long tail like dance in the sky.

That sounds a bit late in the season, Hal, but good to know that it's going to warm up! We are having frosty mornings, but snow is a rarity here, at least in the city, although of course plenty on the mountains.
Nice fly. What modification did you make to the Scintillation? Here's hoping ITW will get back into production some day.
I fitted a thin spar into the hem on the front of the kite (the arch), which stopped the arch from sometimes collapsing and causing the kite to dive or crash. The last time I spoke to ITW they were hoping to get a few more kites back into production this year, but I don't know if it will happen. I made all the videos for their website and UA-cam channel, and I was very sad when they struck problems with the loss of their factory in China and were unable to make anything for a long time. A few things are available again, like the Levitation deltas, but it's far from being the great source of kites that it once was.

Both gone to new homes. I had to dispose of quite a few of my more valuable kites as money is tight these days. They were all bought in days when I was earning a reasonable income and could afford such "luxuries"!
