Brilliant video I've been recovering from a quadrupal bypass so haven't been able to use my kite board or buggy, got given a prism jazz sport kite watched this video went out and practiced and now I'm a big fan of sports kites, many thanks for the tips
Dodd you're a genius. You're also a phenomenal drummer. I'd play in a band with you yesterday!!! Derek Ferwerda (guitarist)... Spin Doctors, Marvin Gaye, Joe Cocker, Hall & Oates, Cindy Lauper... etc.
I first saw and flew a stunt kite at the San Leandro Marina near Oakland, CA. Basic flight was explained to me in a bit more clear & concise manner, imho: With equal length strings and hands in the neutral position, the kite flies in a straight line. Pull right, the kite rotates right. Ditto the left. The kite will continue to rotate until you return your hands to the neutral position, at which time, the kite will fly in a straight line in the direction the nose is pointed. Here endeth the lesson.
So glad you put these up!!! I remember watching the original videos on VHS a long time ago. My father acutally made me watch them before learning to fly his Force 10. Although there isn't a video out there to prepare some one for that magnitude of a kite lol
I bought a sport kite and the lines got all knotted as I tried to unwind them. I figured it was beginners bad luck and bought another set of lines. The second set too got all tangled again, before l started to fly it. With the third set, one line snapped in about 15 mph winds. I'm thinking about buying a spool of 200 lbs braided fishing line from Bass Pro Shop to avoid these line entanglements and lines breaking, since the 150 lbs Dyneema line, obviously is not working.
I bought this exact kite at a yard sale and have performed repairs to the frame. It flies beautifully but I don't have this cheat line and I'm learning to do tricks. Is there a way I can get a good look at this and see if I can make one?
We ordered a prism kite a few days ago and have a few questions. 1) is this video a good tutorial for a beginner? 2) I noticed that people use straps on their wrists, is this something that you have to add on to your lines? I don't recall that being included in the purchase of the prism quantum kite. 3) we purchased a 10' tubular tail for his Prism Quantum, would it behoove him to learn the basics first then attach the tail later on? Thanks for your advice.

Bought my first sport kite, and launched unsuccessfully. This video helps a lot, and I can't wait to get out there and try again!
Did you fly yet? How did it go?
im about to get my first sport kite.
@@sketch334 Tried again this weekend, and the wind just wasn't there. Got into the air for about 2 seconds before a quick crash.
Thanks for the video! This total newbie is looking forward to trying these on my own!
