Another massive Vulcan fan here. It brought tears to my eyes when I watched XH558 make what was possibly its final public display at Southport Airshow a few years ago. No other aircraft, except perhaps Concorde, used to inspire such a sense of pride and awe in me when I watched them fly past. It's hard to accept that I'll never be able to hear that Vulcan howl again... Anyway I would love to see your restoration efforts!

I'm a plane enthusiast so the question is a no brainer! Look forward to it. I love visiting aircraft museums but always leave with a tinge of sadness when I see some of the planes which live outside and just wish they could all be restored to their former glory!

The aircraft project sounds good, look forward to some vids on that. C.

I wish I could help restore that beautiful airplane. I would love to see video of the restoration. I used to be an sheet metal guy in the US Air Force. the kind of work you're doing is right up my alley.

I'd definitely like to see any videos involving the fantastic Vulcan aircraft

FYI: For self tapping screws that fit into plastic threads, you should always start them by hand, turning a half turn in reverse to allow the screw to set into the original threads, else you will damage the threads.

Hi Kris - I think the Vulcan Project will provide us with something slightly different but related. Will be very interesting.

    Item 1: The tool
Wow, that's quite a bargain you found there even if would have seen some considerable use, but it barely looks used at all.
    Item 2: The restoration project
I would love to see a series of videos from that restoration. I've zero knowledge of air-planes so getting a tour and perhaps some more in-depth videos would be great.
May I suggest doing some time lapses for the more tedious body-work just to show your progress and perhaps spotlighting interesting details along the way. An introduction video before you start work would be very interesting as well for people like me who know nothing about old planes, or, frankly, any kind of aircraft. Perhaps give a short introduction to the model and just do a walk-through of what state the craft is in at the moment and what you plan to do.
The electrical parts sounds especially intriguing. I would love to see how that works.
And as always: This is your channel. You can upload anything you want. Sure, some people might just be here for the electronics and may skip those videos, but as far as I'm concerned; as long as you keep doing videos on things that interest you and that you are passionate about, I will keep watching. Hopefully that's true for a sizeable chunk of your subscribers.
As long as you make the videos *you* like and not the videos you think your subscribers will like, they will inevitably be interesting. That's the primary reason why I watch channels like AvE and Big Clive. Sure, they're also very knowledgeable and entertaining and that's a big plus, but the Internet is full of knowledge and entertainment. People like you, on the other hand, who has a combination of knowledge and passion for what you're doing while still being watchable and even entertaining are very rare. Very few of those channels make it big and most of those who do quickly get bogged down in just trying to make enough videos with enough regularity to survive on UA-cam.
So just keep doing what you enjoy even if that means a lot more than just electronics.

Nice screwdriver. Plane restoration, you mean like running the system with APU but not main engine? Vlog please

Like the concept of the screwdriver, but it looks a bit cumbersome with that gert chunky cable. Though if it's that much for one with a cable, I hate to think what a cordless version would cost.
On the plane thing, I reckon I'd watch a few, skip a few. Definitely worth posting though.

You seem to be describing some kind of pressure, or mass surface density, rather than torque. Kilograms "per"? "Square"?? Centimetre???

    • @HattmannenNilsson
      @HattmannenNilsson 6 років тому +1

My thoughts exactly. That's a very strange unit. The only thing I've ever heard of being measured in mass per unit of area is BMI which is mass in kilograms per square metre.
Torque is measured in newton metres. At least that's what I got taught in physics class and that seems to be the official SI unit.
Kilograms per square centimetre would indeed be some kind of measure of surface density. At least to my mind.
Pressure is expressed in pascal which is a measure of applied force over an area; 1 Pa = 1 N / m².
I'm confused now. Is kg / cm² actually a unit that is used for those kinds of tools? Am I just ignorant?

I’d like to see the restoration but I’d want to see every second of it rather than highlights 🤗 but that’s just me.

How's the glider training going? Would have loved to see more of them but obviously been out-voted :(
Would like to see the restoration vids. If it meant subscribing to another channel, that doesn't matter.......as long as you add the glider videos too lol.
And as for the torque driver........I WAAAAAANT ONE!!!!!! :D

For a single restoration, a separate channel would be overkill. Now if you were doing a different airplane per year for the foreseeable future, then you want a different channel as that would draw a slightly different audience. Imho, film your project, post what you feel like sharing. As it is different content, you could title them in a standard way like "super awesome airplane fixeyfix: ep 1, look at this p.o.s", then "super awesome airplane fixeyfix: ep 2, cockpit tear down". Anyone who doesn't like the videos can just not watch them.

"For a single restoration, a separate channel would be overkill." It all depends on how often the videos were released. If he released a new video (or two) each time he worked on it....once/twice a week, then a second channel would really make sense. Rather than adding content to the main channel that some people might not watch (or unsubscribe because of), having a dedicated and linked second account would work better.

madbstard1 Good point, that's true. I assumed the volume of videos would be low.
