My daughter recently purchased a couch from PB. The fabric, quality, and comfort are all outstanding. She is very happy with it! Don’t settle-get something you both truly love.
i have had an Ikea couch that lasted and was pretty comfy.... getting the slip covers off and on was like wrestling a bear. i have had several Pottery barn couches and highly recommend. the fabric holds up to stains and spills, the slip overs are so easy to take off and put on, and the most important .... the most comfortable and substantial sofas... i have never gone wrong with the Pottery Barn couches.
I haven't been to Ikea for several months, so Thank you for the tour. They have great items and furniture for someone starting out who has a small budget. I love thier kitchen gadgets and pillow covers and I really like their storage units/wardrobes. Some of their curtains are really nice also and not expensive. As far as having a comfortable sofa, if you have the budget, go for the more comfortable one at Pottery barn. You want to be cozy and feel good when you sit to relax on your sofa. It is not like dishes or decor that you might keep for a while and then sell, it is an investment piece that you will have for many years. Don't feel worried about it, when the time comes you will know what to do. You have great taste!! 😊
We had an ikea couch in a small apartment for years and we never truly loved it. When we finally got a new couch we regretted waiting so so long. They just get less and less comfortable as time goes on, so I personally would splurge a little more on your couch and find one that is easier to clean.
Re: sofas...DON'T settle...go with Pottery Barn-yes, more pricey but if you love it you will never think about it again. Been there..done that. I still have an exceptional chair and half in my small home-pad almost $1500. for it in 2006...yes 2006. It's a beautiful off white with ottoman in an everyday suede. i just keep a nice muslin throw on it and it look and feels brand new. Don't settle.......
Still have our couch going on 30 years, and it has retained its quality and comfort. We paid real money for our couch at now defunct IN Furniture and haven’t had to replace it every ten years. “Four-way hand tied, kiln dried wood frame” will last you. You do get what you pay for in this instance. Good Luck!
I would recommend not getting a light sofa. We bought a light sofa and regret it. It is very hard to keep clean and it shows everything! We don’t eat or drink on it and it still shows everything. I suggest choosing a medium-toned sofa instead.
I think you should invest in a more higher end sofa.🖤 I know it’s not my money, 🫶🏽❤️but the IKEA sofas are not that cheap to say…. “well I’ll just replace it in a year or two.” If you guys are the type to use a sofa a lot, I would say to invest in one.☺️
I wouldn’t recommend many of the ikea sofas. Unless they have some that are made with higher end cushions. The one I bought a few yrs ago for an office/guest room broke down so fast and then the sofa looked like trash. I do know the pottery barn sofas use much higher quality fabrics and cushion materials. That’s where the extra expense is. I do know Lydia Millen actually has IKEA sofas in her living room. I was shocked when she said they were IKEA sofa’s. But what she did is found a company that makes higher end slip covers and she had new slip covers made for them so the sofas definitely look higher end now. She’s had hers for years and I honestly haven’t noticed in videos her cushions looking broken down…wondering is when she had her slip covers made if she upgraded the cushions as well. I have always had slip cover sofas and absolutely love it. Since I’ve always had them Im so use to being able to strip it down and throw it in the wash and have freshly clean sofa at anytime so it honestly makes me feel gross at the thought of not being able to clean my sofa like I do my bed. I’ve also always had a light colored sofa as well even while raising kids. But since I could launder them and always paid extra for upgraded fabric my sofas always looked pristine.
Loved so many items!! My closest IKEA is 4&1/2 hours away 😩. In regards to the sofa, I would not settle. And since you are asking our opinion, I would not buy a new couch for a temporary apartment (when you get back to Phoenix). Keep what you have until you find the house and then splurge on that 😊.
I did my homework on a sofa, after losing ours to a nightmare. I tried pottery barn, loved them! I have so much pottery barn in My Home. However, I went with the size sectional from Crate&Barrel with the AXIS I had the custom order, I wish I would’ve gotten a more neutral color. But I love the sofa and it cleans up just with a wet paper towel so amazingly! It’s so comfy and cozy and it’s still really big for my 1700 square-foot . I hope you give that a look. I even went to Ethan Allen. I forget where else I’ve gone. I went so many places, but I’m so happy with my purchase.
We have had an Ikea bed, which is twin but becomes double, few years ago and its still holding up well. I have faux plants from them and I love their wall clocks because they are so quiet. And we use Ikea kitchen things and their shoe storage
I just got the Belvoir Performance couch at Ashley Furniture for 799 … and I love it!!! It’s in the color snow…very light, washable fabric seats and cushions. You should definitely check it out
Hello I enjoy your videos. My couche from pottery barn it’s 10 out of 10. The fabric is awesome and you will not be disappointed with that purchase. The BEST part is is made to order. The quality is outstanding.
Great shopping video. Loving the Christmas decor. I'll have to make a trip to my store. As for the couch, I wouldnt settle but I will say shop around for the couch you want, at the best price and that is durable. Check reviews. Wishing you a great weekend. Let us know where to next 👌🏽🏡
I think that you are right about the quality of the IKEA couches going down hill. Our ikea couch is 12-15 years old and still in decent shape. I love that I can wash the slipcover on a regular basis and we have bought a number of replacement covers over the years. I am bummed out that the Ektorp has been replaced by the Upland. They look the same but the quality is not nearly as good, the fabric is not as nice and the covers don’t fit the old style. 😢. I would not buy it now.
I don’t love it and the blue or the brown. I like how the seat covers are elongated without cushions showing you know like two cushions on the bottom seat I like that without it being broken up, but I have seen them in the store myself and it’s like a throwaway couch without being so rude. I don’t know how else to say it. It’s not a good purchase for even seven years, probably more like three years! I’m not being rude but for the money I’d rather have a better couch for the long run. I don’t know if I should send this or keep it to myself lol but I’ll send it and I hope you understand that I would never be negative toward you in any way as you have great styleand I love watching your Vlog! Your friend Gerri my first time posting
Hi! I stumbled across your channel, because I always love to see everyone's favorites at IKEA. Great to see the new items at IKEA and about that sofa. I've been eye balling that one as well. I have a suggestion. Sometimes when you are speaking and one takes over the camera, which I do love that both of you are in it, BUT I can just barely hear who the camera is facing. Other wise, really enjoyed watching this. :)
Great shopping day at ikea 😊👍 oh my loved so many things , to many to name … but really enjoyed all the lovely Christmas items they had . Love the red stripe paper ! And the red Christmas ornaments 😊❤
I don’t like couches with one or two seat cushions. I much prefer the three section back and seat cushion style. What color and brand is your nail polish?
Everything I have ever bought from Ikea has fallen apart within 1-2 years. Even the plants I bought had gnats in the soil. I no longer purchase anything from Ikea. I only clicked on this video to support you.
You say your next couch will be temporary. If that is the case, does your existing sofa a temporary life remaining? If so, purchase a (custom) fitted cover for the your existing sofa, saving a bit of money due to not purchasing a temporary or permanent sofa.🧐🤔
Sogar Are not that nice but many things for organizing and kitchen stuff is great! I bought 8 years ago patio furniture and it looks like brand new! I just looked at it Today again and I was astonished how my outdoor furniture looks just like new! Great! Sofas are not great but many many other things are really good!

Your husband is so into the shopping, so supportive, so interested and involved - I'm envious.

It’s worth buying the pottery barn one!! I bought ikeas used a year and sold it to get the potter y barn sofa
Ohhhhhh so good to know!! Thank you for sharing your experience, that helps us make our decision easier! 🫶🏼
I have York, 6 yrs, NO regrets. Kids pets, its amazing!
What fabric do you have on it? I also have kids and pets and want the York.
What do you guys have the best complexion!! Skincare and make up tips please
I don't know how you can shop and not buy everything. You definitely have willpower.
It’s not easy LOL 😂🥴

Spend the money on a quality sofa for sure. Don’t forget to watch consignment furniture stores for used PB as well.
Everything looks beautiful! I love the classic wrapping paper too xx
POTTERY BARN!!!! You’ll take it with you when you buy a house! For sure!!

Y’all are so much fun to watch! Lots of good baskets and plaid items. I love plaid everything lol😊

That was fun. I take my tree down day after Christmas too. I’m over it by then And wanting to refresh. 🌲
I love you both so much! It feels like I am shopping with friends ❤❤❤❤
One last thought...spend on the basics (sofas, chairs, tables and cabinets), Have fun and save with the "dupes" , decor and accessories...
I think you should invest in a more higher end sofa.🖤

The OG Ikea slipcovered couch with feather cushions was the best. The newer versions are too hard. I'm going with PB for the next couch.
I just got the Belvoir Performance couch at Ashley Furniture for 799 … and I love it!!! It’s in the color snow…very light, washable fabric seats and cushions. You should definitely check it out
Check out mantle furniture! They came out with a new slipcover sofa/sectional which is stunning! And their quality is top notch
I have a beautiful sofa from Pottery Barn, it is really comfortable and still looks brand new even after 3 years.

I have two Ectorp sofas and chair and ottoman that I purchased 13 yrs ago and still looks great. I have several different colored covers!
How about a leather couch. They’re so comfortable.

I definitely believe in spending more for quality and comfort. IKEA sofas are not comfortable or the best quality, in my opinion.
I don’t care what anyone say about Oregon or Portland. I love that’s state
Try Macy’s.
Get the YORK!!!

I liked the tree skirt but I live rattan ❤

I rather buy used pottery barn than ikea . Idk what it is but ikea quality isn’t there for me .😅
Hi Brandy and Zak,I think Ikea is not as good as it was ❤
Why don’t you guys leave the tree up for new year? I feel like a new year without a tree feels wrong
With furniture you get what you pay for.
I think fall decor is very american and not as common in the nordic countries which is why there wasn’t anything at Ikea for fall specifically
I'm glad you decided not to purchase the couch. The Pottery Barn couch would be made better.

Ikea couch looks cheap Pottery barn is a 5 star
IKEA looks so cheap and you are not…
