- Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova turned their serendipitous meeting, love story, and music making in Dublin into the movie "Once." They even won an Oscar for their songwriting. No longer together romantically, they still collaborate musically and they stopped by Studio 360 to perform songs from their new album, Strict Joy.

We just saw The Swell Season last night in Chicago. They were absolutely brilliant. It was truly a magical experience. It was a sold out Roosevelt University Auditorium Theater, that holds 3962 people. My wife and I are going through some tough times right now and this was a magical night for us.

Yes top 5 indeed,. Try imagining him playing that song with Mic on those heedy nights about a decade ago to about 70 people in a stuffed heat room with the sound of cars/motorbikes passing by outside for effect.

and now with liam clancy passing, glen will keep his memory alive singing his songs. and no better man for the job.

@toooldtodie wow, man, thank you, reading this comment just now and i'm flattered... it's still me, ilcorvojo2, with a new channel... always listening to glen/the frames/TSS... there are so many talented people out there, i think we should push the music we like as much as possible, and i'm glad i did my part with the swellies... always thank you for checking my videos, anyway!
That mic really sounds great with Glen’s voice.
over the years i have heard this song so many times, sung along with the band in many gigs, but it still makes the hairs on my neck stand up. im so glad glen mar and the boys are doing so well in the states.

I'm trying to find a version of this that was recorded on Irish Radio - maybe today FM on a new years evening show, it had bongo drums no piano and was EPIC.

Saw the show on December 2nd in Ann Arbor, MI. They closed with this song, it was perfomed so beautifully.
He plays the same chord as in red chord ( C and F)

Simply amazing.
for me, Glen, Marketa, The Frames and TSS was brought forward by ilcorvojo2 in his profile. when you heard once 'Once" soundtrack or another piece from their stuff you will be entrapped by their music, emotional rendition and artistry. the best thing which had happened to him was the Oscar statuette what gives a great boost to their popularity; after many years on stage they deserved it.
