    I think Empathy is one of the most underrated perks in the game. Since the range is pretty much infinite you can do a lot with it, especially if you’re playing by yourself. You can do A LOT for your team as a solo with it by being a support/heal/unhooking teammate.

    I have a theory that the perk Empathy is highly underrated especially in solos, I’ve been running it for months and ive become sort of addicted to it. The most useful part of the perk is that it makes it REALLY easy to tell where survivors are getting chased off gens. The range is obviously huge. Youll see them on a gen via the portrait interface and then you see them get chased off, eventually take a hit, and then u can figure out where their gen was. Additionally: if youre like me and have crazy adhd and get soooo bored when working on gens, empathy is fun because you get to watch your teammates loop and get chased lol. With the Made For This meta you get to watch for so much longer :) you also can see which pallets theyre dropping and this lets u know where any potential deadzones are, even if its at the other end of the map!
    It also helps a lot for helping teammates and stuff of course. Killers often claim im part of a swf bc of body-blocks ive pulled off.
    Its also clutch for self-healing kinda bc as long as someone else is injured you can link up w them to reset a lot of the time.
    Idk i guess it feels like a weirdly multipurpose perk
    One of my fav ways to use it is to stop claudettes from self-caring in the corner for hours lmao i hunt them down and heal them myself and run off

    • @Charlie-vp5tn
      @Charlie-vp5tn Рік тому +8

      I think many perks that listed here are underrated. I like using Empathy myself and it helps a lot, and yeah it makes doing gens a bit less boring. I also really like Alert, it helped me in chase many times.

    • @fabib2031
      @fabib2031 Рік тому +5

      Most of this can be replaced with game sense. After a certain amount of time playing this game you know where your teammates and the killer spawns so you need which gens are being worked on or where they get chased. But empathy can still be useful.

      @iPoooodd Рік тому +6

      @@fabib2031 i def agree yeah, game sense and team comms. I'd say the "average" player usually lacks these though including me to a decent extent tbh haha. Worth noting too is that a lot of these types of perks that could be replaced with rly good game sense (eg Kindred, spine chill, deja vu, etc) are also pretty good at *teaching* game sense, you know what i mean? like... allowing you to "see" more of whats going on in your matches. One thing to note about using the perk lithe to unzone yourself. (0:37:25) If the killer has enduring you will get grabbed if they react, happened to me before. So if you notice the killer has enduring you should try to bait them into not breaking the pallet after you drop by running somewhere stupid. If they break the pallet then you made distance, if they don't you can run back to it and make distance. Not a sure fire way to get outta your situation but it could at the very least buy time. I know Otz can't go into this because video is massive but, I felt I needed to put this here for people who are here in the comments to learn the game. Fantastic video Otz keep it up man.

    Ok, so, hear me out. I run pebble almost every game, and here is what I found out:
    1. In a 1 v 2 situation where you need to save your teammate, it is an incredible perk to throw a camping killer off. This is because they think they've pretty much already won.
    2. After the unhook, you can both run away in case the killer runs any kind of heal slowdown. Then, you can throw a pebble to the hook to fake a missed heal skill check.
    3. In a gate standoff (if the killer does not know you have pebble yet) you can do some amazing mind games.
    4. A niche use of this perk is that it can be used to determine whether or not you are in the terror radius, as it's only charged when you are. This specifically helps when playing against doctors who use fake terror radii add-ons.
    Now to be honest, I'm not here to say that pebble is the best perk ever, but I think it is not fair to put it in the terrible class 😢

    Lightweight is decent, your scratch marks are gone after 5 seconds plus theyre more spaced out. Helps in chases aswell as stealth because you can flee from a spot when you know a killer is coming for it

    • @cutmeloosebruce1955
      @cutmeloosebruce1955 Рік тому +2

      More spaced out scratches makes it easier to find you, one of the ways a lot of killers find survivors is by scratches on the sides of walls, trees, or rocks, stuff like that probably helps me like once a match (at least on outdoor maps, on indoor ones this isnt as true for obvious reasons)

    What I learn about Stake Out is that even though it change good skill check to great. It’s also a good combo with Fogwise which you need hit a great skill check to activate, which makes you constantly see the killer where they are. But as Otz said if the killer is running Fearmonger or whatever, it’s basically no use other than still having Stake out as a backup.

    so far when it comes to perks that involves generators, i personally love DEJA VU. apart from helping me locate the generators, it helps me and my friends choose which generator to focus on (the middle gen) to avoid a 3 gen set-up in late game. Since deja vu highlights 3 generators that are closest to each other, focusing on the middle gen helps create more distance between the remaining generators, we do this repetitively.

    I have rework ideas for the bad perk Red Herring. It is as follows:
    Red Herring:
    After working on a generator for 70/60/50% progress total, Red Herring activates:
    When working on a generator for a minimum of 3 seconds, press the Active Ability Button 2 to trap that generator for 60/70/80 seconds and highlight it in yellow for all survivors.
    When the killer damages the trapped generator, it becomes white for all survivors until the duration expires or the survivor stops the regression. When this happens and while standing still, press the Active Ability Button 1 to create a noise notification for the killer on the trapped generator. Red Herring then deactivates.

Knowing where the killer is and what they are doing has kept me from running directly into the killer SO many times. It’s especially useful on indoor maps and against snowball killers. How to have a good round: You bring Off the Record and Decisive to not get tunneled, Reasurence to prevent the Killer from camping other survivors and Unbreaking to counter slugging (or if you hate 3 genning bring Déjà-Vu). Now you have exactly 0 Perks to bring Perks you like. If you decide to bring none of these Perk and try something new, at the start of the round: either your teammates get found first and you can live a peaceful Survivor live (10% of the time) or you get found first (90% of the time) then you have 2 possible scenarios:
    first scenario: If it's a Bubba you get camped to death while your team does 0.5 Gens.
    second scenario: Any other Killer lets you get unhooked and the killer hooks you again while realicing you don't have Off the Record or DS so he tunnels you a third time. While you epicly getting tunneled and hooked 3 times while you made 3 Minutes in wich your team has done 0.5 Gens. (Don't need to say that the person who unhooked you fears to get hit and dissapears into air again.)
    Sadly these are real experiences and i can't play without Off the Record anymore.

    Hey Otz! I noticed the "perform x faster" modifier came up and the explanation had to be repeated several times, so here's sort of a 'way of thinking' that I think may help everyone wrap their head around the approximate calculation.
    The trick is to simply apply the modifiers directly to the *"number of actions over time"* instead of thinking about _"time it takes to complete an action"_.
    Taking an example, gen speed, we usually think of it as _90 seconds to complete a gen_. For the sake of speed modifiers though, it is best to think of it as *(1 gen every 90 seconds)*, or when normalized (just divide the top by the bottom), *( 1/90 ) generators per second ~= 0.0111 generators per second*
    Now modifiers to speed will apply directly as a multiplier to this, say 100% faster gen speed will be ~=0.0222 generators per second.
    To find out how long that is, you can take the reciprocal again ( 1 / 0.0222 ) ~= _45 seconds_, which agrees with your general explanation that 100% faster generally halves the amount of time.
    This whole thing is just a standard application of "frequency" vs "period"
    For anybody out there, if you keep the units in every calculation, it will help you internalize the calculations because the units will make sense when you say it out loud.
    Another example with steps outlined:
    1. Healing _time_ is _24s_, written with units is _24s / heal_
    2. This healing *rate* is the reciprocal: *1 heal / 24s*
    3. Healing *rate* normalized, is *0.04167 heals / s*
    To see how much time botany knowledge saves:
    4. 50% faster healing speed is ( 0.04167 heals / s ) * 1.5 = 0.0625 heals / s
    5. Taking the reciprocal *1 / ( 0.0625 heals / s)* is _16 seconds / heal_

    One thing to note with Corrective Action that not enough people have tried out is using it alongside a teammate running hyperfocus. So long as you have tokens, your teammate can try to go for great skill checks exclusively, meaning if they are a bit too early you can prevent the gen from exploding.
    The main problem is that people don't really consider Corrective Action to mean "Oh I should exclusively go for greats until they run out of tokens", they see it as "oh, I can just not hit skill checks now", which wastes the perk instead of trying to go for a more interesting play that's more helpful to the team.

    One thing I would like to argue, is the position of Sprintburst and Lithe. While on paper, Sprintburst does have amazing things that Lithe could only wish for in its dreams to be able to do, in theory, Lithe brings a much bigger benefit for 1 simple reason: Its a boost after putting an obstacle between you and the killer(another good reason is perk synergy, but I am honestly just looking at a situation where you have 1 perk and the other).
    While a wall seems insignificant, it actually makes it harder for ALL killers to catch up to you, including high mobility killers.
    Nurse requires 1 blink to go through the obstacle and then be forced to use her second blink to close the gap you created, while SB she could do this with 1 blink in the majority of cases.
    Blight requires to bounce around the obstacle, making it harder for him to close the gap.
    Wesker needs to either go around or vault the window, both making it harder for him to close the gap.
    I could go on, Sprintburst only truly makes a difference when facing lower tier killers, where a 99'd Sprintburst is the difference between a 40 second chase and a 70 second chase and can be used anywhere, where Lithe makes a 40 second chase into a 70 second chase when used at an optimally vaultable window. But on average? Lithe gives you more bang for its buck.
    Against most killers and on most maps, Lithe beats Sprintburst. And thats not talking about how Lithe works amazingly with vaulting perks AND perks that only work while you are not exhausted, as you can make a ton of distance(buying time) before you're forced to use your exhaustion perk(also buying time), while Sprintburst cant do that in the same scope.
