Copper Harbor is a long drive from anywhere but it is worth it for the quality of the trails being built out to provide a summer playground for MTB enthusiasts. In this video I descend the black diamond rated Citrus Tech trail. It has serious rock slab rolls and a rougher rockier top section but also a lot of flow, berms and jump lines that put me out of my depth.

Don't laugh at my inability to jump, but with that said, how do you attack a black diamond trail first time? Just send it, or stop and check out each feature?

Talking about jumps, I just got my own breakthrough yesterday when I went to session my jump at the new Stony Creek pine trail. Maybe you could consider it. They are table tops and well calculated. Who knows if you got the same breakthrough, this trail will be a lot more fun to another level.

@@derekdamron3397 I rode it on Sunday, that same weekend. We may have crossed paths.

@@benjapolcycling jumping is something I’m going to work on this winter. When I lived out in Colorado it wasn’t really a concern as there was so much natural tech to ride, but Midwest riding is very different. The “tech” is added though these features. I feel like a noob again.

The video never does justice to how steep and intimidating those rock rolls are.

Love Copper! Citrus is brand new along with much of that East Bluff trail system. Great video, have to ride it in the spring

I’ll definitely be back on it. Who knows, perhaps I will have learned to jump by then.

You missed out out. I will post Whipsaw and Flo'Rion in the next few days and those along with this I think are some of the most fun trails in CH. (at least while the other double blacks are closed closer to town.) I saw some of the other new trails they are also putting in at East Bluff and those are going to be ripping as well. That area will be focused quite heavily on new school flow style trails but the looks of it, but there is also plenty of natural old school trails in the area as well.

@@Roaming50 I have done only summer school, both getting late afternoons and the map was not super clear i decided to call the day and need to head back downstate. With current situation (time, job, money...) i could not go there as often as i wish. Really missed out like you just said.
