      Real Fresh who’s to blame? Please tell me, white people? Oh boo hoo white people to blame as always. You know since the civil war, when racism was actually alive, many aspects of quality of life for black people has actually gone DOWN. You know why? Because of this blaming, victim mentality. Back in the 1960s the rates of black children with fathers was down by 71%. Why is this? Because a majority of blacks people rely on welfare, the welfare they get much easier if they are not married. It’s this mentality of blaming rather than raising children right, and stopping black on black crime and taking RESPONSIBILITY for the issues within the black community rather than blaming. Stop blaming white people for leading better lives when the black communities need to start working from within. It’s important to teach children to get education, graduate, buy properties, marry people they love. Because this isn’t being taught there is a cycle of violence, this is evident in the fact that around 15% of the US population is black, but over 50% of the crime is perpetrated by them. with crime rates like these it’s really very obvious why black people find themself shot and killed by police. More crime = more violence. It’s really not about racism. Stop following what the media tells you and educate yourself. It’s important for everyone to lead the best lives they can, and that can’t happen when you keep trying to find someone to blame. Stop listening when the media tell you that the “system” is racist. What part of the system? The education part? As in when black kids are dropping out of HS in large rates? Who’s fault is that other then their parents and their communities mindsets? Please stop blaming and spread the message of education and bettering lives.

    • @realfresh8524
      @realfresh8524 5 років тому +19

      ang the system you dumb ignorant uncle Tom lookin ass. Who created the system , tell me ? You know it, stop following What your trump supporting neighbour says and stop trying to sell your soul to the devil, The media is actually a big part of it.. but you will never see because you are blinded by your illusion, or better say delusion.. 😉

      Some of you make it sound like turning on a light switch but environment can hinder you without other stimuli.
      I'll use another example. If you grew up in a neighborhood trained to hate other groups, chances are you'll grow up to think like that and internalize other regressive ideas.
      I was in the military, I couldn't tell you the amount of people I ran into who realized how badly they were cut off from the world. It's not that you don't know, it's that you don't know, you don't know. And, if you've never been exposed to that starting point, it's just an academic exercise if you can't truly internalize the complexity of such environments.
      I'm willing to bet the kid on the right met a good adult who invested time in him. Absent such dynamics, inspiration is hard to come by.
      Charlie should have unpacked his story. You need better questions and follow up Charlie but good stuff regardless.

But just try n reach out to people to help you and whenever u do get a chance dont take it for granted. I always lived around the outside of Detroit. Like warren and eastpointe. I did a lot of dumb shit but lifes so short i realized it really would just leave me dead or in jail if i kept living life like i wanted to fight and shoot and only wanted women and money. But even now. My life's been about women and weed. I believe in God tho thats what fuks me up up. When i was 15 i was locked up until i was 17. And i read the bible to see for myself. And i had leaders in my life that helped guide me when i was in the juvie. A certain guy was 28 at the time and he helped me if i had questions about what i was reading. So i just know me and you aren't made to quit or fail or be afraid but we should seek knowledge and wisdom and know that if you try to do positive and think positive and flee from anything thats stopping you. I wiah i could help you more i wish i had connections to jobs and knew more so I could help. All i know is you cant give up... And you must not turn let your soul be corrupt and forfeit your soul to survive. I believe in you man I do. If I ever get a lead on jobs if thats what you need... Ill comment on here. I have to disagree when they said the hoods should be built up before the downtown. Throwing money into the hood isn't going to make that city any money. It's a loss. Build up a solid downtown, create jobs, businesses, ect. and the money spreads outwards. Much of the downtown Detroit construction companies vowed to only hire Detroit residents, even train them for free, it was a legal part of the contract. Virtually. anyone can get a job in some kind of trade. Yet, the contractors could not find enough willing Detroiters to work and had to eventually find workers in the suburbs. Some people will just not take an opportunity and would rather just be a victim. Or be a rapper or drug dealer instead of getting up for a 9-5

      What made a big difference about that was they were home owners who had pride in owning their home and took care of their neighborhoods, landscaping, trash on the street etc... now you have out of town owners/landlords that are buying the homes for cheap and renting them out to anyone with a section 8 voucher, and that comes with not caring cause it’s not yours attitude, negligence for the house while renting causing damages and money being spent from the landlord from tenant to tenant, then the landlord look at it as a loss which it really is, and stop paying taxes, then the house is foreclosed on property taxes now it’s sitting there with open windows open doors to where the weather from the 4 seasons kill it. Now the home is close to not being worth anything because of the amount of money it needs, and that became a tsunami through the Detroit neighborhoods during the housing crash in 08. Now you have ppl that’s not even thinking about owning a home, prime example from the lofts/apartments being built downtown/midtown area. But the neighborhoods are slowly becoming gentrified like downtown. Think about it! Once those individuals decide to start a family they’re either going back to the suburbs to their parents neighborhood where they grew up, or buying a Detroit community for nothing making it flourish raising the value then taking it over, only good thing about that is if you owned your home no one can push you out your value goes up also, instead of someone raising your rent cause you live off the water and force you out. A lot of ppl love Detroit it’s so convenient for a lot especially ppl on the outskirts when they’re in the city, that’s why the children of the ones that were part of the white flight are moving back, and blacks are moving towards the half ass built homes across 8 mile towards the suburbs for what reason I don’t know they’re bringing everything to the city, quicken loans was first, now google, Microsoft and another big tech company is moving to the city I forget the third one. Just watch!! The population is already going back up towards the million mark.

    These run down areas remind me of how the south end of Boston was at one time. In the early 1980s the city of Boston was trying to sell abandoned red brick residential structures for a mere $5000 but nobody would touch them. Only later when apartments for rent in Boston were hard to find did people begin buying in the south end. Today the south end looks totally different and not one building can be found for sale under one million dollars. Who knows what the future holds. That home those two are sitting out in front of might just sell for a lot of money someday.

      @RCmack 5 років тому

      Trump signed a bill to help these people?? When and how? All Trump's worried about is securing money for a stupid border wall that won't keep all the foreign Latinos out of the US. He has shut down the government because he won't be receiving his precious wall. Democrats have been fighting him tooth and nail to make sure $5 billion of our taxpayer dollars aren't wasted on this nonsense wall. The $5 billion would be better off spent on repairing urban areas like this one in the video.

    • @tlome8033
      @tlome8033 5 років тому +11

      +R McElhaney Many Latinos like me (I'm a Mexican American Latina) support the wall. You are the one who is racializing it not Trump. He has said repeatedly that it also serves to help stop the inflow of drugs, rape and forced human trafficking and people of various ethnicities also using its porous nature to enter illegally into the U.S. But just like the recent urban renewal eo and the passing of criminal justice reform bill, the fake msm virtually ignores it so you won't hear about it. Like how they make up your own mind for you? They decide what's best for you because you aren't able to make decisions for yourself?

    • @RCmack
      @RCmack 5 років тому +1

      @@tlome8033 My Family watches MSNBC, NBC Nightly News, and The Stephen Colbert Show frequently. They are all against the wall. So is Beto O'Rourke. The money for the wall would be better spent to fix inner cities like Los Angeles, Oakland, Phoenix, El Paso, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and many others that have minority populations. I respect that you have support for the wall but folks of all races are better off with the money going to repair these dwindling neighborhoods.

    • @tlome8033
      @tlome8033 5 років тому +6

      +R McElhaney I mean your 1st sentence explains it all really. But we spend over $100B on illegal immigration yearly. $20B would be a wise investment along with border technology, visa reform and E-Verify. Inner cities like Chicago would benefit. For example, look up Cloverfield Bakery. Black workers called ICE on their employer and the result was 400 mostly Black workers from the community hired with a higher wage. You would have to be naive to believe that this isn't going on in other businesses in the area since they have to compete for workers and those who pay less for wages can charge a lower price to customers and have a comparative advantage over their competition.

    That neighborhood didn’t always look that way. I grew up there in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000 and even in the 80’s and 90’s it looked a lot better. It was starting to get messed up but still not like that. It’s a shame. This is all Coleman Young and the Democrats fault and they praise him til this day.

    Whenever I watch these hood videos, I think to myself that these people have never seen the real hoods of South/Central America, India, etc..., and also that these hoodlums, who are American citizens, can choose to live a better life because there are opportunities for them out there if they tried to look around or get an education. You have a choice in America, but you don't in other third world or authoritarian countries. Many people from other nations would like to take the place of these hoodlums instead of starving and dying on the street.

      @@Eman1900O Racism does exist and it can also be subtle. However, there are ways to get around this barrier through the legal process in America. In other countries with authoritarian dictatorships, people go through much worse everyday and many of them die.

      Thats the reason this country the way it is they only hear what they want to hear ignoring the positive to convey something negative then feel stupid when they become victims of crimes

    What's up CharlieBo313?
    It's very sad to see such a once vibrant and thriving city in virtual ruin. The people who live here seem almost hopeless. Maybe (hopefully) one day circumstances will change for the better and Detroit will return to something like its past glory days.
    Shout out to Charlie for always keeping it real in his videos!
