    I still do not understand why you paint models by brush 10 Times better than with airbrush i will never get this effect with airbrush

    I love this channel. I love the techniques and methods you use and the fact that you brush paint your models. They have a distinct look which is great and refreshing to see especially now. Beautiful work.

    The KV-2 is definetely iconic, but a German one isn't something you see often

    Hi, newbie brush painter here. I'm doing trumpeter t-34/85 right now. And i couldn't decide whether i can make a winter camo or not. I was watching videos about hair sprey techiques and more. But your techique is simple yet perfect. I think i definitely try it.

      Nice. A winter camo on a Soviet T-34 is always glorious. Thank you. :D

    Superb job as always!
    How many coats of the initial grey did you apply?

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  3 роки тому +2

      Just three or five layers of the dark grey paint. :)

    Great result, especially in the small scale. Very well executed model of the KV II with a well made weathering in this winter camouflage pattern.
    Best wishes, Joachim

    Great results with the weathering! I really enjoy your brush techniques. Impressive in such a small scale. I would like to see more 35th scale models from you.

      Yes, I do have some 1/35 scale models in my stash. Expect them in the future. Thank you. :D

    Have you tried 7/1 paint / retarder?...I watched guy brush paint that ratio and gets same effect plus the extra drying time allowance?....still going to try your slap it on methods...as posted in other vid,like your slap it on and no fuss approach...I find if you fuss paint thats when things go wrong...I regard ur vics on brushing...best on yt tyb for the hints etc

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t have to use the retarder, because I personally enjoy the fast drying time. Also because of the soap being mixed in with my acrylic washes. :)

    I would like to get one of these tank kits in 1/72 scale. Where do you buy your models from? Our local hobby stores do not stock a large quantity of kits, and usually only ONE of any given model so they sell out fast.

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  2 роки тому +1

      I mainly get all my models from my local hobby shop. But if I’m looking for a specific model I’ll make a special order.

    I see you also put the wheels on first and then paint them, I watched you do the same with the HobbyBoss Sherman 8 months ago.
    My question is how do you paint in between and behind the wheels, you know the hard to reach parts. Because I try to get in there with a brush and just jam it on there. Maybe you have some tips?

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  3 роки тому +1

      I use an angled brush to help me reach into those hard to reach corners, or try to paint those areas black before attaching any parts on the model. Example my 1/48 scale Sherman suspension. :)

    Beginner here ✋🏻Question: do you use wet palette? And how much do you thin your paints?
    I don't have an airbrush so my inspiration comes from videos like these, thanks for the instructions 😊

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  2 роки тому

      Sometimes I’ll use a wet pallet for painting details and chipping the model. A good ratio to follow for thinning paints is 1 drop water to 7 drops of paint. :-)

    What kind of soap do you use for your washes? Do you use any varnish to protect your painting/weathering? Thanks

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  3 роки тому

      I use a pump bottle, with soap from equate. I’ll generally only varnish my painting. Meaning only the camouflage layer to help seal it before applying a wash. :)

      @@Modkits131 Thanks. What varnish do you use? Do you apply it with a handbrush?

    • @Modkits131
      @Modkits131  3 роки тому

      I generally use satin varnish from Vallejo and do apply it by brush. :)
