Safe Jack Rennstand (upgraded version, reviewed model discont'd) - amzn.to/3JGVTVo
**Tip: If you need to get under a vehicle, ALWAYS have a backup support system such as another jack stand or place a wheel under a structural beam in case the primary stand fails. DO NOT TRUST YOUR LIFE WITH ANY SINGLE JACK STAND.**
This is a review of the Safe Jack Rennstand 18M-RS2. A unique jack stand that allows the jack and jack stand to be placed at the same designated vehicle life point.
It is the best jack stand for its unique function. It prevents you from possibly jacking the vehicle up at an unsafe location. Its larger size might get in the way of certain areas you are trying to get to.
Pros:
-unique same jackstand/jack location functionality that other jack stands do not offer
-2 tons/4,000 lbs rating is decent capacity for each
-not too heavy at approx. 12 lbs.
-very portable when disassembled
-pins are rated at 9,000 lbs each
-11" to 18.5" range
-two jack pad adapters provide options for different vehicles
-quality construction
Cons:
-very expensive when compared to a standard jack
-larger profile than a standard jack stand
-the whole process is a little bit more cumbersome tha standard jack stand
-no storage box; small pieces can get lost when disassembled
-more jack pad options needed to support more vehicles. Jack pads will help better distribute the load onto the jack beam.

What some people don't realize is that newer cars (like my ML350) don't have multiple places to jack the car up. So you can't get the car on jackstands because there's nowhere else to lift the vehicle beside the jack point where you want to put the jackstand. So a product like this is becoming necessary with the way new cars are made. $250 for a set is expensive but you want quality and it's cheaper than a hydraulic lift system for your garage.
shwndh ya they are definitely making cars so you cant get under them to work on them. The big problem I see is when you jack up one side and need to get the other side up to match thats when trouble sets in and no jack stand is going to be stable in that situation
Very, very well done demonstration and review---I sooooooooooo appreciate NOT having lame ass loud music blaring! Informative, gives enough great advice helping the buying decision. Thanks for taking your time to share this here on UA-cam!
thanks for showing the most popular jack everyone has. that lowest setting issue is very useful
awesome video sir. everything i wanted to see without waisting any time. I wish i could find it in a local retailer but i don't think I've seen something like this anywhere on display.
I can see both positives an negatives with this system. Good vid thanks
Sounds like good concept and technology with minor tweaking for additional support and safety. 1. Crossbar to reinforce the angled part of the jack stand part. Make the reinforcement bar either removable so you can get jack in and out or hinges on one side and clip on the other side for same result. Similar to adjustable shelving units. Aside from a crossbar to reinforce them put a regular jack stand under the cross bar as a back up. If the jack stands mean the base of the cross pad will be hanging off the ground then back to the block of wood between the base and the ground.
Thanks for the video. I have that same HF yellow jack and was afraid it would be too large in width to fit the stands. Bummer that it doesn’t fit on the lowest width. Super helpful, gonna pick mine up soon!
That was a well done review. Thank you
Pins should be tethered to either side of the stands. Hopefully, for the price of these stands, the welds have been verified with some type of NDT, such as X-rays or magnafluxing.
On Amazon $130 + tax + $19.95 shipping = dammmmm if you need 4. Good video and I was looking for something exactly like this a month ago and couldn't find anything so I bought a kit to add other jacking points. After seeing the price of 4 of these I don't feel bad about my purchase.
Nice idea! Lemme know when the generic version comes out!
Extremely Informative THANK YOU 👍👍👍👍
Great demo! I love the Jack Stand, but I agree with you that the price tag has to come down. Thank you!
I like that. So many times I couldnt use a axle stand because the jack was in the way
LOVE THAT JACK THO. I HAVE THE SAME ONE AND IT WORKS AWESOME.
Its a nice jack
Where is to buy this and the price please ??
I purchased a set and they are fantastic. Great design.
3:04 All pins are oversized, no need to worry. I did some structural calculations for my DIY stand and turned out, that even a 6mm diameter, normal S235 steel pin can support up to 200kg. With a jack like this, it could be used for a vehicle weighing 1,5 tons. With an 8mm pin, this goes up to almost 4 tons.
I do love how tall these get. It would be nice if they had a way to extend and lock into place automatically instead of having to install each leg one at a time and lock them into place yourself.
If your having trouble removing the jack on the lowest setting have you tried turning the jack at a 45 degree angle to remove.........
2. Could you raise the vehicle about another two inches and set the traditional jackstands on either a frame support or under the adapter plate for this stand. Essentially double protection. Personally option #2 sounds safe and logical. My biggest problem with some of the axle jacks even the low profile ones are the spot that you want to place the jack stands for support are the same lifting point as the axle jack itself. Removing the tire helps in supporting the axle but tire won’t go back on with the jack stand in the way.
Amazing informative review. Thanks friend.
The Rennstand 90* jack stand seems much more stable where as it doesnt have an A frame layout. Its perpendicular to the floor. Much safer and has a smaller area so you can get under neith it with a creeper and not hit it. Also maybe at yours lowest setting could you angle the jack 45* to sneak the wheels by or lay the handle down sideways and pull it out between the legs ?
Agree about the price needing to go down. There's enough demand that they can tap with a better price point.
So far looking at these stands I have seen 3 different designs all made by Jack Stand. One on amazon that has a different thin base. Then yours that is not adjustable at the top to make it wider so you can pull out the jack...Is yours just a early design. ????
I would be scared that jack would do splits on me.
lol!
I'm scared of all types of Jack stands except for the wooden homemade one.
Les Smith, your answer is the one and only I'd share...Respect from an old mechanic !
jeah why they dont do just a 180 degree one ?!
@@KeithsTVHD1 You are correct about doing splits....had a vehicle FALL when this jack tilted slightly.....Caused more damage falling than the cost of these stands....Looks like a very genius product....WRONG.....
Will sell this almost NEW...1-time use stands $50 + shipping.....BOTH
Nice concept but the price is crazy....expensive😂!!!!
Id rather stick to regular time tested jack stands for CHEAPER price
Regular jack stands sink into Ash fault even seen the base spread apart if you have a short they work fine your essentially trusting your life to cheaper jack stands
Will these work on a Toyota tundra I bought a floor jack and it won't lift high enough of the ground to take tires off
Everything has it’s ups n downs, the down here is that it takes up too much room under the car makes it hard to work, I personally don’t use a jack to work under my lifted jeep, don’t need it, I only use it to take tires off. Wasn’t trying to screw up ur add.
Wow! I like that a manufacturing defect was identified with the first test level. Folks at Safe Jack. Heads . Lower the price also, add an additional safety bold because that one bold on each side doesn't make me feel that secure. Also make the legs wider to accommodate lowest height with larger size shop jacks.
At 4:44 my issue with that is lateral support where it could slide off while jacking on the other side maybe a little too high. Would be an easy fix. Once a car start to slide off, nothing you could do about it. Been there done that, fortunately not under it. How are the penetrations on those welds, has it been x-rayed?
kimchee94112 nobody xrays shit like this. Too expensive and time consuming. You think these are expensive toss in xray and see the price go up
Good solid video. I personally will stick with traditional jack and stands.
I click the discription for Amazon it was not currently available this would work very well on newer cars i was going to get 4 but so bad not available
i like this design a lot. any issues or concerns using it after the video? thank you for sharing.
I noticed that you lowered the jack down slowly each time. That will extend the life of the seals. Goodonya
+Harold Fitz Great observation! I'm also too chicken to risk damaging the vehicle. :)
Harold Fitz mines harbor freight. i just send it
I can only just get my low profile floor jack under my car jacking point under my sill - so the raised height of the cross bar wouldn't work for me.
Excellent!
Excellent Idea; Just checked their website; they have to come down on the prices.
GOOD JOB THANKS.
Will this work on a Corvette or a Yukon?
Can you please give me the exact Daytona model that you are using for the floor jack. It is hard to find a jack width under 12". Thanks
It's the Daytona DJ3000. www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-low-profile-super-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-yellow-63183.html?ccdenc=eyJjb2RlIjoiMTcwMjExMzAiLCJza3UiOiI2MzE4MyIsImlzIjoiMjQ5Ljk5In0%3D&campaignid=20401559188&adsetid=152059370776&product=63183&store=462
If you have a car with only 4 safe jacking points like a Tesla or even my '14 Jeep GC, then you need something like this or a full lift system.
There is only 4 safe points for your factory jack as it is used only on pinch welds per owners manual. I know for sure you can jack a GC from more than 4 points using a hydraulic jack.
Good video, but I think I'll stick with regular axle stands 👍
Thanks! A Shame, as I was thinking of something quite the same. Nice!
Hi dear where can I buy this kind of jack stand. Thanks
Thank you cool
Not sure about those welds especially on the actual bar why haven't they done it as one rother the weld
Realistically I would need 4 of them, but yeah 556 bucks before tax is just absurd. Using standard jack stands is not that much more difficult.
That top adapter you used on the rover is supposed to be turned the other direction and the V shape is made to fit the pinch points on the car would be a lot more stable that way still looks like a weak version tho with that non supported A frame design.
James F from an engineering standpoint the design is good except for the feet. They could be longer to help with tipping over
Make the top section longer to enable the angle between the top section and legs to be 90 degrees. I don't like the angle as is. Work with the forces not against.
Nice idea.. However, with all those loose parts, brackets, pins and time it takes to put them in place, I would find it easier to use the floor jack and just slide a pre-set Daytona jack stand next to the floor jack. Done in 15 seconds. Just saying...
Always some body trying to reinvent the wheel
Yep, really wish people would realize that it's all been done already and just stop trying to improve on design.
Hahahhaahahaha! Fail.. almost a waste of time watching, at least he did the review. We saw its junk.
ceeweedsl I assume that you are using sarcasm. Lol.
@@ceeweedsl its been done where? Seriously give me a link. Putting my unibody car on 4 jack stands is not simple. It is now that I modified it.
@@stangtrax I was being facetious. In response to Orlando comment. It is hardly a reinvented wheel, but an original invention that looks very useful for vehicles that have limited jack points.
Where did you purchase those. I can’t seem to find them in line.
Check it out here (not sponsored): rennstand.com/
These pins are over 9000!
i wanted them the first time i seen them but man are they expensive so i will have to wait
$140 for one? More like $140 for a set of 4. These could easily be fabricated.
they need to make a saddle fitting to safely get on the frame of your Range Rover because that double pin adapter you used could easily slip off the rail.
I agree. He needs to go to a trailer hitch shop and have them weld a proper adapter together for $20.00 (or do it himself).
Bigger square section might be nice.
Why not leave the floor jack there, taking some of the weight? Seems smarter
When I started watching this video I thought to myself " here is another snot nosed kid that doesn't know anything, making a video". Boy I was wrong. . Nice little video, with just enough details for me to look into this more
Thank You
Nice! I like it, but not at that price
One of the best inventions and safest inventions to come out. German quality. Only problem is they aren't cheap, about $134 each and I'll need at least 2 to get the job done right.
Still foreign made though
SALAM AZERBAYCANDAN ELA DOMKRATDI SUPERDI👍👏✌😁🙌
Why didn't you buy 2 of them. Then you could do tasks like rotate the tires.
wow, people think this is useless but they don't know who might need this and is useful for their car.... In my case this is fucken' perfect to use on my BMW as the last time I had to switch the front tires from left to right and right to left sides, I used a floor jack to lift the left tire side on its lifting point indicated but there was NO fucken spot to drop a Jack stand under the car anywhere near the floor jack as it's all cover underneath! The only place to put a jack stand was the same spot where I lifted the damn car with the jack! I had to use another floor jack to lift the right side car's tire and was able to switch tires but by using 2 floor jacks instead and my jack stands where useless! This solves that freakin' issue perfectly!!!!
yes, and working on car with no jackstands was dangerous. At least you didn't have to go under.
I see the way of A frame movement is too weak is unsafe.
I would want something with a safety factor of 5 or more for something like that. If even one side fails then ur crushed.
It's a good idea, but that price needs to come down for it to be economical.
I’m mad they are out of stock. I’ll just build my own. 🤨
Dont
@@carsonmcnamer5321 that was 2 years ago. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Try it with the low profile cars.
It's worth mentioning that the Daytona Jack's are HUGE and a normal Jack would probably fit on setting 'one'.
So where can I buy this at?And just how much is the price for it?
+MrMichael48 It's quite expensive at $139/each! Please see the video description.
ALL WAYS USE JACK STANDS WITH SAFTY PINS PEOPLE !! ask my uncle no wait he,s Dead.
Hmm $139 a piece vs. Harbor Freight Jack stand for $20 before a coupon. I would pass. Thank you for posting though!
Too bad you don't see it the practicality of it. You must place your jack on the differential housing when you put your car on jack stands. Have you ever worked on your own car?
sambking You obviously have not if you think the only place to put a jack is on a differential housing. Is this the only place where you put your jacks? If so, you should buy one of these.
Usually when someone mentions dollars you have a situation of those that can have and those that can't have. If you can't have you go to Harbor Freight with a coupon. Putting money aside, this is a superior jack stand in most instances. It's better than a Harbor Freight jack stand or even a Snap-On jack stand...if you're a jack stand snob. This stand solves the problem a jack stand creates.
Just get some good steel ones and you are good to go. No need to spend over $100 on jack stands when there are some great steel ones for less than $70
i work on cars all the time. these will have such a huge foot pint that accessing the bottom of a vehicle is that much sammle of an opening and not to only will the stand be longer front to back but the side profile is also wider. abd he mentions the "need " for a low prile jack. most cars will stir too low to use a low pro jack and still fit the top peice of this stand. now you need two jack. defeats the purpose.
It looks as unsafe as the regular jack stands
Is it really 125 bucks?
Never seen these in the UK.
What a trip , I have the same DJ3000 Jack and the 940 Osborne axis lock Benchmade .....lol Do you have the IR 2235TIMax too ??? Jk lol , if you did ? Id be thinking you were hacking my PC Ese........Peace Repin the 805 primo.
Close. I do have the IR 2235QTiMax which is the quiet version. Lol
Will these hold a Diesel Excursion ?? What is highest height ?
Powerbuilt 620471 6000Lb Unijack is better IMO @ $53.50 each & free S&H. It's a hydraulic bottle jack & jack stand built into one. Much safer, faster & costs less if you get them on sale like I did & free 1 day Amazon Prime shipping.
I've never lifted a vehicle from the side that they say you should I've always lifted it from a solid frame piece
But where the hell is a solid frame piece under many of the current models? So, I take a guess at what appears to be a "frame piece" and lift the vehicle with the floor jack. So now, where do I put the that basic jack stand so as to be able to transfer the weight of the vehicle from the floor jack to the jack stand? Take a drive to a GM dealership lot. Take a look at a 2018 Equinox or Terrain. Tell me how I can left either vehicle using a standard floor jack, then show us where to place those standard jack stands. I am not advocating the Rennstand product. But I am wondering about your questionable 'knowledge" of today's vehicles. I own a 2018 Terrain. I "attempted" to lift with a floor jack and I did not like what I witnessed. The design of these new vehicles is a whole different issue.
Unibodies don't have a solid frame, fool.
@@CuriousKL Finally somebody who gets it.
When jack stand was further in will make you get under the vehicle without a jack stand in place. Doesn’t seem safe to be fooling around with attacking legs and pins.
I would fabricate this with much more stability, is a cool idea
Is Daytona good jack? How long have you used that?
Thanks
Yes it is. Got it from HarborFreight. One of the best jacks you can get for the price. It's basically a copy of the Snap-on. Try to look for HF coupon if you decide to buy it. Hydraulic jacks are designed for temporary/quick lifting so never get under a vehicle with just a hydraulic jack supporting it. I've used it for about 3 years, no issues.
Technical Mechanical thanks
If one of those pins shears, the jack falls.
Allen S that’s what I would be afraid of. I don’t always trust their ratings.
No different to normal axel stands with pins though?
@@royster3345 The pins on my axle stands are much thicker than those thin pins
build it with 2 by 2 tubing between two jack stands, save yourself 250.00
very smart. I like that .thank you for sharing
Jackstands will have to be 8" further apart to clear jack. Go with 2.5 x2.5 to handle 16" added length. Need quick release reinforced connection from bridge to jack stands. Time for welding/fabrication. Final result takes up double the space and costs $70 Hope it clears being so big. Or build it from scratch and copy their design might be more worthwhile.
Busque la misma que usas y no aparece la que venden es una negra
I have these stands unless you are changing a tire I use ramps to lift up my cars ( much safer)
Bueno para camionetas pero quisiera que cupiera en coches aunque sea el puro gato
As if people have taken their expensive Range Rovers “off-roading”. 🤣
I would be concerned with this jack stands. It looks like the weakest point is the parallel side with minimal support. Triangle is still proven as one of the strongest structure.
No. I rather use my block of wood
And whats wrong with the regular jack stands🤔?
Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen. There needs to be something tying the legs to each other or I'm seeing a failure in the future. A frames are strong but there needs to be the cross member to give it strength.
No. I own this product it is tested, rated, and well engineered for the load it is rated to carry. It is made from top materials, not cast materials like most walmart or harbor freight jack stands.
And you don't suppose the maker hasn't actually tested any of these to failure yet? Cheap pot metal jack stands, nearly all made in some nameless Chinese sweatshop, with the lever you just risk snagging and ripping the whole thing out in a jiffy, yeah, but the savings can be applied to your funeral service.
Basic physics applies in all cases. What you mean is that you only understand the strength of the connections you have seen made and assume that nobody can build a stronger joint than you have seen. Wrong. Your experience in metal fabrication is just enough so that you think you know.
Only on level ground :(
I wouldn't jack a car on unlevel ground anyway.
It seems to be a good idea but not so practical. Have to be assembled and disassembled the legs on each time you need to use it sounds not so good.
Great idea but $125 for only 1 stand? No thanks, I’ll stick to my harbor freight Jack stands they never failed on me.
until they do.. but you won't be around to tell us about it... :P
DIZZY KNUTSAK build my own. Maybe buy one for dimentions then send it back
callofgeorge if a Jack stand fails on you. You weren't paying attention. Nothing just blows apart unless you go overweight on it. Telltale singns of failure tell you enough is enough
Missed the whole point. These are for limited jacking point vehicles. Sometimes you jack up where it needs to and there's no second support point anywhere near.
this hasn't aged well
I like it but that price is too much.
This jack stand is way too much! I can buy a new jack for the price of one jack stand
I can buy two stands for like 20 bucks good quality ones too
Great concept, but I'm sceptical of the design...I'll pass for now.
lookup myjackstand. $275 a pair. cheaper for a much better solution.
Yes i have the "myjackstands" and like them, excellent stand!
Not a bad video, but no way in hell would I get under a rig with that supporting it. Just look @ 430 side mounted on that unibody frame rail ! Um..no .
