Luv the ending brotha, reminds me of something I would do with my baby boy... 👍
I love how you include your kids! I'd bet as grow they'll share your love of cars and build great memories with you.
I don't used to leave comments on youtube but... man, I loved how you ended up this video. Keep playing with your kid, at the end we are all kids with bigger toys. One of the advantage as a kid is we are all creative with huge imagination. Great video Tom!
why is everyone's garage on youtube cleaner than mine
Same reason my house is always cleaner when I have a girl coming over. ;-)
Because those are really shops that they rent just so they can do their video shooting
Oh man...that guitar ramping up and fading out was totally awesome!
Wow what a dream garage. I do auto mechanical work on the side in my 1 and a half size garage, and for many many years I have made a lot of money. I love your garage. Thanks for sharing....Canada
I am all in favor of an advertisement video. Tom busts his butt making these cool videos, he deserves to be rewarded... Great vid Tom !
MetalTeamster Thank you for saying that, I just like doing these from time to time. I mentioned this below, but I've done five of these review type videos out of the 51 turbo garage videos that I've posted, so once in awhile they're fun.
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
Your boy is lucky to have such a great dad.
Love the video at the end. Made me laugh, and my 6 and 7 year old grandson's ! Love the jack too, need to get me one.
im in the UK ive not seen these for sale over here and would like to see them over here these are a very salable itm over in the UK i would like to see how they lift a range rover and if they do well. the 4x4 clubs i go to would buy them a much needed item for us off road people thanks for the filming on my wish list
But in the beginning you said you were tired of being sore from the floor and you went back to it? Seems cool tho nonetheless
He mentioned the main reason for these was for portability so for quick work at the track or on the go when needed because your lift is stuck in your garage
Watch the video again. In the beginning he shows the big blue car hoist that he has in his garage. This video is a review of the portable hoist.
I admire a creative idea like yours. I especially like the end part of the video with your little UPS boy. Your a great video maker...
This is an incredible piece of equipment! I hope I can get one someday! Thanks!
I think I'll stick with my 6 ton Mohawk lift. Trying to work on some of the lifted trucks I play with the Quick jack just wouldn't reach. Love the UPS skit!
Thanks for reviewing these. I did not know there was an option like this. Even though I can get a decent lift about the same price, I would have to change my garage door rails and other stuff just to install it. I do wish it could go a little higher though. It would be great if I could get my engine out from below as the engine/trans combo is quite heavy for my car.
cms-gt4 You're welcome sir! I agree that it would be nice if it went higher, but it would likely have to be much beefier with larger components all around. I wouldn't be surprised if Ranger expanded this product line eventually.
cms-gt4 There are likely other products out there that I'm not aware of, but a few companies make mid-rise lifts that work in low ceiling garages and offer a (mostly) clear floor. Northern Tool is one site that has a few different vendors: www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_automotive+automotive-lifts
Just bought the heavier 7000 pound version. Here in Canada winter/summer tire changeovers are a must. And nowadays wheel storage charges are outrageous. I do 4 family vehicles so this thing pays for itself in one year.
Oh nice, I wanted to get a lift for my cars but my garage height is like 10 feet, so a full-fledged lift would not be feasible, this looks like a great alternative, thanks for bringing to light, Tom!
lol "very important minivan maintenance" I'll need to remember that one!
Omfg that ending was hilarious ...!!
My dad picked up one of these. Just did a brake job on his aston martin. Great bit of kit. I really hope it lasts.
I like this for two reasons. One is the portability. It didn't look like he struggled at all with moving it. Second, unlike others the center is open so you could do a transmission if need be.
"Theres a dog in your engine"
"Whaaaaaaat!?"
Cutest ever! Great vid Tom! This is something I need to get soon
Looking at the design of the lift. It looks like you would place them together (side by side) so you won't be driving over the hoses. Then drive over the lifts and the with the handles on the lifts are use to pull them towards you to be put under the rails of the vehicle. This would avoid from the lines being driven over.
Agreed. Or don't connect the hoses until you have parked the car. They are quick disconnect.
My favorite part was when you "spent a few relaxing moments with the instructions"!!! LOL
Oh wait a minute, I didn't watch the video until the end before writing my last comment. The repair on the Tiny UPS man's car took the cake. :)
I would have never knew about this unless I went to the track and luckily seen it!! Thanks Tom! hope to see more videos like always :D...
DShizDawg You're welcome man and I'm glad you found it informative. Got lots of cool stuff coming soon!
Here's my question:
Can the jacks be disconnected from the pump and hold their pressure?
It looks like the lines would get in the way of a creeper rolling around under there.
I'm not sure but the locks do hold the lift in the up position. Give bendpak a call, they could answer that question in a second.
It should. This quick connector model work like a check valve when disconnected. Some quick connectors are designed ''open end'' so the circuit remains open when disconnected. A good example of this one is air hoses used in tyres shop used to inflate tyres.
Yes, but you need to push the down button o cell in the lock position to empty the lines
No, but when locked in place with the locking arms, you can disconnect the hoses.
@@enterBJ40 well if it should or not, the manual says you can't use it like that. It says only rely on the locking arms and only then can you disconnect the hoses when under load.
ok, that Quickjack looks way cool. And thanks for the after show! That was cute.
A lighthearted DIY, I want one!
I'd still use some jack stands
I just installed a 5 tonne 2-poster lift. I had one of these dinky lifts for years. Whilst it's good for oil changes and a few brake and tyre things.. It's just too hard to do anything else.
Engine swaps are easy now :)
I find ramps to be a hell of a lot quicker to use for oil changes! :/
You are truly a great mechanic!
great video Tom. Bet its the first time ever a car has even been lifted in that garage of yours!
at $1500, I'll stick to jack stands...besides its only my fiancé and my car that I work on lol
+James Valenti and for not a hell of a lot more than that you can get a used proper car lift.
Why would you want a regular lift dominating your garage 24/7 when you only need it occasionally? I only have a two car garage, and a standard lift would take up half of it whether there was a car on that side or not. That sucks!
Some people just don't get the idea. This is for small garages. Perfect for people who like to work on cars at home. Not everyone has a huge garage capable of supporting an immense jack stand.
And it's portable.
I have fallen asleep under my fiance's car, too. When I work on her brake lines, I find it soothing and pleasant...almost hypnotic. I love tinkering with them even though she and her dad have both warned me to stay away from them.
Thanks for the video it is sure nice to have one but I can't afford it especially for my truck, that one sells for $2k. I am happy with my floor jack but I can dream about it at least. That was pretty cool with your little UPS man I am sure he loved it too! Thanks again!
Good video, I had wondered about these jacks now I know, thanks Tom.
Hate when dogs get in my intake manifold.
hopefully this is made in USA. just for quality safety reasons.
Also, those quick connects, I'd switch them so you have male/female on each end of the pairs so they cannot be hooked up backwards or cross the flows. They make quick connects with stops on both male and female connectors so they don't drain and only lose 2 or 3 drops of fluid when disconnecting. Makes it much easier to keep the connectors clean, just hook them into themselves, no way dirt or anything getting into them if you do that.
I LOVE IT!!! I am building anew garage and this is so coooooool!!!! PS.....Nice jeep.....and I want that UPS driver to deliver my packages!!!
Thought this was a great idea until I saw the price...You have got to be nuts!! The 3500lb unit on Amazon was $1000. Sorry but I need a kiss before being f*cked like that.
Yeahhhh I´m quite sure you don´t know how much does that tiny little motor and hydro pump costs... Half of the cost of this thing is probably going there. Granted is not 1K but not 350-450 that does not even cover the whole hydro setup.
Go and build it cheaper if you think it can be done. Otherwise shut your piehole, stupid.
Oh, I'm sorry I stole your precious time that you could have used to insult other people. Mea culpa. And come up with a better insult then sending me to my lawnmower which I do not own. It was kinda funny the first time but got old real quick.
How about you fucking learn to repair your car ?
I bet you can't even change a tire.....
That was a great video! Love the pinky out while drinking the coffee 3 stooges style lol your also a great dad! This is a great product definitely going to consider
OH HELL YA! THAT IS WHAT I NEED THANKS TOM!
The geometric design doesn't look safe. It needs a truss structure to lock it into place. I would not trust getting under that lift without additional support.
Also as others have mentioned, the hydraulic lines should NOT BE DRIVEN OVER. Don't be lazy, place the car and then place the jacks. Or get creative and longer hydraulic lines and hang the lines from the ceiling.
Safety First.
I don't think your supposed to run over the hoses........ if so that's a huge flaw as far as I'm concerned...
HUGE flaw. Run over those fittings a few times and you have big problems. This lift is a flimsy POS. I wouldn't lift my kids peddle car with it.
Good luck! You'll go far man!
Great video, now that it's a couple of years later, do you have any pros/cons updates to this? I'm seriously considering one of these for myself. I was looking at the Atlas Kwik Bay, but it seems like storage would be an issue for me. This seems like a perfect and more portable solution.
Thing does not look safe at all looks like the car sits on bolts
6:38 lmao
At the beginning go the video you talk about your Commercial Grade lift and "the best part of it is that end the end of the day you are not sore from working on the cold, hard garage floor." Well, with this "Bend PAC"lift that you are promoting in your video, that is exactly what you will be doing, working on a cold, hard garage floor.. No thanks.
Well he does also state in the video that if you don't have the sort of garage space, and or the sort of money. That this is a cheaper, smaller and more portable solution.
But the 2 post lifts are coming down in price, not to mention they are making them for lower ceilings. I can get one for around 1800 bucks but I have to install it at that price.
I LIke to have lift, but I've heard some horror stories of them coming down.
+Roger B. I've heard that planes can fall out of the sky. Best not go in one of them either.. And Lifts.. Lifts have broken in the past. And Cars.. I've heard alot of horror stories about cars.. No cars either...
Install it correctly and not think "How cheap can I install this?" then you will get sturdy quality results.
+Colin Richardson Yeah, but planes normally don't fall out of the sky, so better not take things out of context.
You heard a few horror stories about a few lifts.. Obviously not the norm otherwise they would not be sold.
thats why you always support it with 4 jack stand for safety precaution since people dont usually care about how much a lift can lift a car and will use it on car that weight more then the recommended weight.
You have 2 nice DSM's ! You don't see many VR-4's these days!
I noticed that the cylinders have a small tank?? connected to the other end from the end you're hooking up to the pump.. It looks like it's got a valve stem on it. If it's what I think it is, that's brilliant. Other end doesn't have fluid, it has air and as you lift car or whatever, that air is forced into the small tank, pressurizing it, then that air helps lower the jack so you don't have to stand on it or anything to make it go all the way down. When you first get it, just put a bit of air, like 10psi to "prime" it to lock it in the "down" position. Pretty cool.
too much project binky lol
binky edition has optional gussets and brackets..... long lead time on the brackets though!
Shut up and take my money!
Wow, putting this on every gift list possible.
Great video and great acting from the UPS guy
Awesome video Tom! Like always! I have a detailing shop and I have been looking for a lift like this. All the traditional lifts like this are one piece and bulky! I will definately order this and let them know they got the sale from your video!
Matthew Ong Thank you for the kind support Matthew! Good luck and I hope you get tons of use out of it!
Great idea, but by the time you unload it at worksites, you could be more ahead in work by using floor jack and support stands
It's been a while nice to hear from you again tom
imdowncow011 Thanks man! I did post a Miata video recently in case you didn't see that.
Have you used this set up on your ISF? I have an ISF too and always have a very fun time trying to lift it up with standard conventional stands. The ISF has weird lifting points due to the tub under the car..
Well, now I know what's going on my wishlist. I hate getting my vehicles up on stands with a floor jack, this is the way to go.
Came for the lift review, stayed for the adorable father/son content.
Jack and Stands best thing ever!!!!!
Great product and great video!
I agree having a lift is a lifesaver for your body and back.
I wonder if this would also be good for servicing the zero turn mower with their odd wheelbase? Cleaning the deck, sharpening blades, ect. Might be worth it if it can also do that, might eliminate the need for the stand up mower jack
Great video Tom!!!....I think I might have to treat myself!!
Joe Caraluzzo Thanks Joe, I appreciate that and hope you find one lifting up your Christmas tree this year. :-D
Great video! Thanks!
Looks useful, and the UPS guy scene funny too.
Thats cool product. Love the little UPS guy. u must be a petty cool dad.
Heck yeah!!!! I need this!!
I liked the UPS ending oh yes you did not sign for package :-) Do they make motor bike kit? That would be oh so sweet.
You've got a Mitsubishi VR4? Damn that's freaking awesome
I noticed that you stepped on the hoses of the jack by the wheels. isn't that bad for the hoses that might break?
love the big ups guy..
Thanks for posting this, Tom! It's exactly what I need! (suffering from low garage ceiling)
This is the Business! ! 👌
Very Cool. I think I saw quick disconnects. Do you need to bleed the lines after uncoupling/recoupling ? Will teflon sealing tape work with ATF?
I have a 5000 pounder. The contactor that controls the switch failed after the tenth or eleventh lift. It is cheap in build and design. The hoses covering isn't very durable and some of the engineering for the power unit leaves alot to be desired. It is easy to use though if you overlook its foibles.
Dear turbo tom santa, I want one for Christmas! I have been extra good this year so there is no need to check that list of yours!
Awesome channel 👍🏻
When I open the valve to bleed it at the 1st lock position , won't the frame move up and down a little bit? or it will stay in the locking position and won't move at all?
I liked the tiny UPS guy. Best part
That garage is bad ass.
Your kid is adorable. Great job as always.
Looks cool, it only needs a cover for the down button that says "make sure to remove the safety bar before lowering the jack" otherwise the user might break it if he forgets to remove it beforehand
With the safety locks engaged and jack stands.as a back up you should be fine. This could be a good lift for brakes especially since you can remove the wheels where ramps the tires are resting on the ramp.
good thing, that had my interest
what keeps them from swaying to the left or right ?
that is my concern because i do not have a professionally leveled concrete floor.
i have the ground .
looks awesome tho.
very cute with the u.p.s.'s jeep help . good thing you knew how to fix it . lol
At the beginning he said he hated but then
Still be working on the cold, hard garage floor.
you right about that..
If you watch the video again you’ll see he has the the big blue vehicle hoist already. This is a portable car hoist. He was review testing this...it’s not his only car hoist.
Please stop running over those hoses!
@@ronaldburgess2884 I know right. It gives me an uneasy feeling when I see that.
