Those hate comments. PLEASE. Sian obviously does not have ur so-called "insecurities" because of donggook's pranks. He's young but he understands enough that his dad loves him and that he can trust him ultimately. And it is very obvious from sian's behaviour that he trust his dad. Children with those kind of problems DO NOT behave like this. They will be withdrawn and avoid interaction. Please dont assume things and ruin the fun. It may seem a bit too much for viewers but that's just because the programme was edited that way (because it's more interesting) instead of showing just normal daily interactions.

MsDreamGirl098 uhhhhh... Children his age calls everyone appa or omma. Remember the time he called Dongwook Omma? Does not mean that his mom pulls pranks on him? Of course not. He just calls people that because that's the titles he knows. Another example, he used to call his older sisters Onna instead of Nonna. On a personal level, I used to call my aunt and grandmother 'Mama' and my Uncles and grandfather 'Papa' because I don't know what to call them. I even called one of my uncle 'Popoy' which means great grandfather in my language because I heard that title when I was visiting a family with their great grandfather still alive. In other words, kids repeats what they know. There's no hidden malice behind that.

Right? Donggook's pranks are playful. Of course the babies are going to cry because theyre babies! Their young and innocent. He's raised 5 kids and the oldest two turned out to be great. These "kids" in the comment section need to stop criticizing his parenting skills lmao.
When I was about his age I was always pranked by my parents and I came out fine. I got a little upset but then I just laughed. It only made me have a good sense of humour 💖

To all butt hurt people,
Personally I dont think Donggook is traumatizing or over pranking sian or the kids. Its completely normal for parents especially dads to poke fun or tease their kids. They told me my dad used to do this a lot to me but it was fun cause it's just how they show their love and bond with kids. I know lots of people would disagree with me but look, donggook did this so many times but it doesnt make sian less close to his dad.
Infact I feel these two will be the best of buddies . You can just see sian how he adores his father coz he knows those pranks are just pranks .

i used to think donggook was too mischievous with the kids, coz sian was crying in almost every episode i saw lol. but he still actually forms a special bond with them despite the pranks. i saw in an episode he also explained it was his way of toughening up Sian because he's the only boy among the kids. ☺
Donggok could be a prankster but he's not pranking sian like 24/7. Donggok teaches his children more about respect, being humble and gaining confidence! Look how sian is now. He understand and appreciate things a lot and such a brave boy.

To all those who think Dongguk goes too far with pranking Sian, or think Sian will grow up with fears or insecurities, let me just tell you that, that child will grow up perfectly healthy and have a perfectly fine relationship with his father. My father did the same thing to me and to all of my siblings as well from the time we could talk, and we all turned out healthy, happy and with a good relationship with our father.

Family vacations are so much fun. Especially when you're kids. You'd be like wearing swim suits under normal clothes so as soon as you reach the sea you just jump in the water.

Donggok's pranks is nothing to how my dad did to me and my siblings. Each of us experienced of being thrown in a lake that is at least 16 feet deep without life jacket or any safety thing on our body, just to teach us how to swim and to get "acquinted with water" (as my dad says) Mind you, I was a 5 year old girl when I was first LITERALLY thrown by my dad in the lake, without warning. and he continued to do it whenver my mom is not around, and really, after being thrown repeatedly for separate days like that, I got used to it and surprsingly taught myself how to swim. But, that doesnt make my dad horrible. In fact, he was the best playmate I had and my siblings when we were kids, and also my very first teacher of academics, cooking, how to properly wash clothes by hand, how to make basic repairs of furniture, etc.
Although Donggok may seem extreme, I thnk he's doing so to toughen up his children and besides, the children doesnt show to be affected negatively. Even Song Il-kook (father of Daehan Minguk Manse) is sometimes tough with his children when playing, and yet, its the same, no negative watsoever results from it.
