Ex JW (30 years) and few years elder here. Putting the mate under sexual stress in order to make the other commit adultery is a HUGE problem among JWs.
My son met his "sweety" (a blond bombshell) at a local convention, and they got married by autumn. She was fresh out of high school. They barely knew each other. They're divorced now because they were not compatible. Had they allowed more time getting to know each other before rushing into marriage, they likely would have realized they were not compatible. But, my son couldn't keep his hands off her, and marriage was their way "out" of his temptations. Unhealthy JW rules made repression/suppression of sexual desires more difficult.
Hey Justin, love this video so much. My first marriage crashed and collapsed completely because we were both encouraged into the marriage because the elders wanted us to baptize together. Little did I know that my "wife" was a misfit after our marriage. It was my awful experience in the deplorably culty organisation before I left decades ago
Since finding many ex jw’s on UA-cam, I believe that to call yourselves “apostates” is wrong. According to the Bible it explains clearly what a real apostate is. Someone who turns away from the true God, rebelling against him…not an organization who claims to worship him.. On the other hand, the organization has turned away from the true God, having gone against everything Jehovah has guided them to do. They are no different from the Pharisees and Sadducees Jesus condemned. They’ve set themselves up in the place of Jesus and Jehovah. Jesus is hardly ever mentioned anymore in their WT studies.
Thank you for doing this. Even though I am a believer in Christ (never been a JW), I still lived with my ex fiancé for a period of time. It wasn’t until he was living in my house that he showed his true colors and it was HELL. Had he not lived with me, I would have married that physically and emotionally abusive a-hole and it would have been an even bigger nightmare trying to escape. Had to sell my house and move to a different city because he started stalking me and refused to take “no” for an answer.
@@exjwdiaries I dodged a bu11et on that one for sure. I don’t care what anyone tells me. You can never really know someone fully until you share the same house with them.
@@pearlytiger564 The advice they would give about not having sex before marriage and not living together was bad advice. I wouldn’t give that advice to my children and knew it was just a set up for failure how could it be backed by a divine all knowing being. I saw so many get married so fast because they had sex or wanted to have sex for just a year later they are separated and filing for divorce. Glad to see you didn’t follow that failed way of thinking and avoided being stuck to someone who was abusive.
@@kimberlyfarris1280 which is why I think my parents never discouraged it but didn’t encourage it either. They know it’s true. I see both sides of it with risk of pregnancy, disease, etc, but it doesn’t negate that we don’t truly see someone for who they are until we live with them.
Great work Justin! My EX husband married me bc he was trying to avoid being drafted into the military. It didn’t work. He ended up having to go to court & being placed on 10 years probation. We were married for 11 years. He despised me the whole time, verbally & emotionally abusing me. I finally woke up and let the religion and him!
The elders had the audacity to ask me if I masterbate during the judicial!! You’re so right about them not respecting boundaries, this organization makes me sick to stomach…. As always great video broski
My wife's family has a JW history. The pressure to court and marry in a short period of time is so true. So many relationships amongst her JW family have a history of abusive partners, and marrying without knowing who they are marrying. Their courtships were choreographed by the family. The pressure to marry quickly was intense.
I am a hot 72 year old lesbian sister. I was about to get married to a handsome young brother when I was 17. But I realized I was more attracted to his older sister. We pioneered together for years. No one in the congregation expected us. They all thought we were on bible studies. I miss those days. She eventually left me and got married. I could go on about other sisters but that's for another day.
Nicely done and very true. Brings to mind this song on Spotify, I Don’t Have to Explain Myself to Nobody, by Coax Marie. Looking back it seems little thought was given to being compatible in the ways that really matter and contribute to a mutually beneficial marriage, as it was assumed that everyone’s main goal should be kingdom interests. Reality: Being sexually attracted to someone doesn’t make everything else magically fall into place.
Most JW born in get married early in life..teen marriage are hard to last for long time. JW young ones get married so can have sex. Side note..Serene Williams, tennis star & new JW and worldly husband now divorced. Wonder if the contrasting religions caused this split
Imagine a God acknowledging what He created will FALL “if be tempted” (also by sexual desire) and had let the first couple multiply😅If a Creator TRULY desired HAPPINESS He could’ve tried that 🍎 test to many couple and chosen the best one! Also, why didn’t a God know if only Adam and Eve will multiply it meant their children within had to have sexual relationship, like what Cain and his sister did😅then gives a Law later this is a No No😅Imagine God’s moral standard actually CHANGED! This was the REALITY in the book stories I was believing as JW😅
Why would SOURCE give U desire and than FORCE U to repress yourself. Why don't animals have to marry? Cats go into heat and multiple male cats will impregnate and it is considered normal.

Thank you! I’ve heard this from multiple elders.

Many, many stories just like this. Marriage becomes about lust not love
Yayyy 🎉 it’s Justin! So excited to hear this
Thank you! I’m sure many can relate.

Thank you! Unfortunately situations like yours are all too common.
Thanx Justin! U handled a very tough subject in a very nice way. I hope it reaches the young people who need help coping.
That’s exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you!
Just to say that what you say here are not apostate lies but are TRUE. I’m from middle Europe.
Wow very interesting how these issues impact the organization world wide!

Great commentary, Justin. I love how well thought out your videos are, and how you unpack everything in detail. With much love, from Canada.
I appreciate that! Much love

Oh sheesh! I’m so glad you were able to get out of that before it went too far!

It’s sad how it’s usually women who get the short end when these rush marriages go bad. I’m glad you were able to get away to safety.

Exactly!! No healthy boundaries! There’s certain questions no adult should be asking another adult. Looking forward to your visit bro!
Another one knocked out of the ball park by you. ❤
Thank you!
Thank you bro

It’s a toxic trap. They really need to allow people to take their time
Well, done, Justin.
Thank you!
Great video! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!!
Well thought out Justin and a lot of great points!
Thank you!
Break it down cause you are telling the truth. Good topic. Appreciate you.
This was very very good!! Thanks for all you do !!🎈💖
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
This is SOOOO TRUE! #AnotherOne!
Thank you 🙏
Justin another great video. My opinion is "releasing steam" might be the way NOT to get into a bad relationship for a JW.
Exactly! Gotta think with the right head as they say 😂

Yeah you gotta wonder how many of these couples are severely mismatched.

EXACTLY !! 😒 🙎♀️
Now I hear "pornography" from exjws and UA-cam ads from evangelical groups
My wife sure would have liked to know I had ASD before marriage.
A lot of people find out they have it later in life. This is why mental health awareness shouldn’t be ignored.
Ain't it a scripture that says the marriage bed is undefiled?
How sparrows and eagles deal with cheating.

An excellent talk on the fault lines of Jehovah's Witnesses and sex drive / morality.
PS: I love the motif on your cap.
Kangaroo!! Boxing Kangaroo??
Thank you!!
You are a real Pharisee
Much love to you ❤️
