Amazing video. This was basically my first time experience dealing with the same issue. Wind, rain, and fog covering Mt. Fuji. One day I’ll get “the shot” but I’m glad it worked out!
I love how perfect the timing worked out. The moment you decided to track down your mic, the kind Japanese man brought it to you! Good thing you didn't miss him lol. Everything about the background music is perfect!
I have been in Japan since 2008, but this place still amazes me, and when I get to see wonderful experiences like this from new visitors to Japan, it just makes me smile. I have lost several things while being here, and have been able to recover them most of the time. Glad it worked out for you too!
Excellent video you two! I love the thrill and drama. I say it was all success and really highlights what actually goes on in the life of our camera adventures.
It was very nice meeting you at the pagoda last November. Luck was on our sides that the next day the weather was way better!!! Best of luck on your next travels, Copter from Thailand.
A great story on your Japan, Mt. Fuji quest. I can only imagine the feeling of walking up the stairs can be an adventure of its own. The perseverance and patience presents its reward with its exquisite view. Wishing you both safe travels.
Jason and Vivienne, I am loving your Travel Gone Vong episodes and your vlogs in general. The storytelling, humor, video edits and footage makes it a really enjoyable and entertaining viewing experience and different to the usual 'travel review' vlogs out there. Well done and looking forward to more.
Seeing Fuji on a clear day will depend on the individual's luck but getting Fuji on a clear day with either cherry blossoms or peak red leaves will take a divine intervention 😂
This is giving me flashbacks to my stay in Osaka. We booked the whole month of April for sakura season across Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara. The first week was amazing. The second week was so windy that we spent 3 of the 4 weeks with no sakura. At least the ground was pink.
Thank you for the beautiful shots of Mt. Fuji from Fuji-Yoshida/Kawaguchiko. I currently live in Yamanashi Prefecture, and getting a good shot of the mountain is really challenging due to unpredictable weather and ever-growing crowds. So glad that your prayers to the FujiFilm gods were heard!! Hope you come back again for cherry blossom season!
@@JasonVong Mt. Fuji is also beautiful at sunset when the mountain turns red in color, so hopefully you'll be able to check them out next time. (Aka-Fuji during the summer months, Beni-Fuji during the winter months, and Diamond Fuji when the sun sets just behind the peak of the mountain year-around).
Awesome video, I love the commentary and the way you told the story. The ultra wide footage from the new Sony 11mm F1.8 looks spot on and sharp. A great little lens, I have the same one.
You should really thank and appreciate Vivian's persistence to follow you around and be willing to go up those stairs more than once. Great job for both of you. Congrats!
I like to shoot grimier urban stuff, some backgrounds of you walking through the neighborhood were my "oh yeah, that would be a nice shot", overcast weather is welcome too 😆
I left my Sony A7R with Voigtlander lens on the train, had to turn back 3 stations and was able to be reunited with it after losing it for 2 hrs. Then the following day I lost my train pass and was able to find it at the station 👍
Mount Fuji is considered Japan’s symbol. Not only because it’s the highest mountain in Japan, but also because of its distinctive beautiful feature. It was inscribed on the World Heritage list in 2013.
@Jason Vong quick question if you have time...when u do your vlogs do u have your camera constantly recording or try to catch moments separately....because I can imagine how much footage it would be if u have to go threw hours of video to make a video.
@@chickenandricecrew9867 I roll the whole time on the GoPro but record moments on the big cameras. Yes it is a nightmare to deal with all these footage. 🥲🥲
Great video! Interestingly the landscape photogs I follow hate blue skies and like a bit of mist, cloud and rain, so next season dramatic thunder and lightening behind mt Sony or was that mt Nikon ?? 🤣
14:14 can you please tell me where you got that filter holder flip up kind of thing? 😍 This is such a game changer for people trying to film and take pictures with only one camera!
