My heart breaks for this man. Tragedy strikes and then his daughter descended into madness and is spreading their pain and misery far and wide. I’m thinking of you today gene and hope you get some comfort and healing as well as everyone else involved.

I thought they just called it congenital, which means it could've happened spontaneously during pregnancy or been caused by some kind of health event that happened during pregnancy, not necessarily genetic. The girls not even seeing what she's doing to her poor father he lost his wife and instead of grieving together shes scamming people on the internet causing him to have to publicly embarrass himself and apologise on her behalf your mum passing away is no excuse to exploit people.
I am very conflicted about her emotional and mental state. It is obvious she has some severe issues, caused by trauma but I alsi think she has some learning disabilities, so I am jot sure if she even understand what she has done to her father and all those couples and how serious, dangerous and harmful her actions were to all people involved.
I feel sorry for her. She needs help and I hope Dr.Phill will be able to provide some proffesional therapy for her

antonela bakavic she understands. I have learning disabilities and I can psycho analyze people a little too well but I’m just bad at math and writing. She’s intelligent and knows exactly what she’s doing. Learning disability doesn’t always mean complete mental retardation.

@Xo Fob She could be involved in any amount of things (eg animal welfare, activities for disadvantaged kids, feeding homeless people etc...) She'd learn that doing good and real connections and laughs make her truly feel good. Much better than scamming vulnerable childless couples. The fact that she walked off showed she was really uncomfortable being called out for her actions. She knew what she was doing. It took 8years of dedication, manipulation, organisation and deception. She's intelligent, she knew exactly how to emotionally manipulate all those couples. At the moment, she's dangerous. The first thing I'd do is cut off her internet access and devices as she can't be trusted.

It’s not shame! It’s called being lost and not knowing what to do to help his child. His child is a special needs child. That’s hard enough as it is! And not only has she been diagnosed with one illness but several! That makes it 100X harder! She clearly needs help and treatment. If she’s not getting the treatment she really needs then it would explain her actions and behavior. It’s actually very sad for everyone involved.
Your conjurance of shame implies that the father has core beliefs that HE is defective and this internalized shame is then available to reflect externally on the "failures" or "defects" in the people around him (i.e. his daughter). This is not the impression I get at all from just this short clip, he seems very insightful and open about painful emotions and is devoted and compassionate in his relationship with his daughter, and is able to extend that compassion to others that have been caught in the orbit of her hurtful/negative behaviors. Speaking about painful aspects of (x) =/= shame about (x)

I felt the same way. I was in "get her" mode earlier. Now, I see the pain of father and the hardships the father and daughter have gone through. It doesn't excuse what she has done, but it gives so much more insight to her own struggles as well. They all need help and I hope they get it.

As someone who was adopted and sufferers from some mental health issues this whole episode tugs at my heart. I feel for Gabby because feeling so alone while having some mental issues is really hard and scary. I know that feeling.
I definitely feel for these couples who can’t have children that desperately want them as well. My adoptive parents felt that way. This whole situation is just really bad emotionally. I hope that Gabby can get the help she needs

I lost my father three days before I turned 12 and even though I didn't grieve in the best way (I was a kid who just felt like I lost a part of me) I used my Dad's legacy as a way to push myself to be successful. I knew at 12 I never wanted to add more pain to my mother's life so I made sure I was a great kid and a great student. I wanted to make my mother and father proud. Stop using loss as an excuse to be a terrible person.

I HAVE congestive heart failure. I was born with a congenital heart defect, heart mumor, and pulmonary disfunction. You don't see me sabotaging other people's character and emotions because of what I can't have. People really need to get some help.

in 2014 when my daughter was born, a lady called the hospital i delivered at and said she and her husband were on their way to pick UP MY BABY as they had adopted her. the nurse and i were both clueless, the front desk put the woman through to my room and right away she said i wasnt the person she'd been talking to , after some talking, we figured out she and her husband had been scammed by someone using photos i posted to social media.
i did some digging and found out that another couple had been scammed as well as 2 more couples in 2012 when my son was born.
the lady that called the hospital where i had my daughter was very upset and had her attorney contact me begging to adopt my child, when i said no, the lady went from nice to demanding, her attorney finally told her there was nothing that could be done as i was a victim too.
i know now that this was gabby who used my photos, the 2nd couple from 2012 sent me photos of the girl who stole my photos.
the very 1st couple knew something was fishy so they reverse searched the photos they were sent which led them to my real social media profile, apparently they tried to reach out but i never got that message for whatever reason.
gabby needs serious, long term help, possibly confinement. gabby had a lady i didnt know ready to file for custody of my child because gabby had used my photos and had this lady believing she had adopted a baby. it was very scary because they had the location of the hospital i was at plus other info, a nurse stayed with me 24/7 until i was sent home.
Even after looking at her acts, I still feel very unsympathetic.
She’s an autistic young woman she’s on the spectrum. She’s didn’t understand the depth of her actions. Mentally she’s very young. Being unsympathetic to her would be like being unsympathetic to a confused angry little girl.

My heart breaks for this story, for all involved. I struggle with mental health as well and am the same age as this girl but I am not nearly as ill as her and I cannot fathom how terrible she must feel day to day. Dr. Phil is a godsend for her and everyone in this situation.

When your life expectancy is shortened, you need to make the most out of the time that you have and make as many memories as possible with the ones you love, not use it as an excuse to torture people. I know she has issues but that isn't an excuse to do something horrible to people.

Ugh this woman that ruined these couples life's should be in a mental hospital for 6 years. I was told i couldn't have kids. Everytime i tried i would miscarry, then stilborn. Three years later (after my stilborn daughter) i got pregnant and i was so high risk i spent hours at the obgyn everyday. Thank good everything went well, I'm one of those lucky women, i never imagined i would have a child but i got extremely lucky.
You can tell this man blames himself alot and just doesn't know what to do our help his own daughter. I truly feel for him.
I’m 24 now with many mental health issues including bpd, bipolar depression, major depressive disorder and a terrible anxiety disorder....I also was diagnosed with terminal cancer at 22. My life expectancy isn’t but a few years more and I’m not out destroying people’s lives and breaking their hearts.
The father is an enabler. This girl should be charged not babied. I have a shortened life expectancy too and I wouldn't do this *hit. Her father is the problem.

These people have to understand that this man has maxed out and Gabby also doesn’t know how to handle herself. Truth is we’re not talking about a sadistic family who intentionally hurts people and who’s completely sane, we’re talking about a broken family, a special needs girl who desperately needs more help than a mental hospital and a father who needs some hope.
Who would be telling this girl that seems to have mental health issues that she cannot have children? Also she said she was told at 15 or 16. Why would this even come up at this age? This is crazy.
