@RuntotheMovies. Ladies, I might have mentioned or requested this before, but what are the chances of you ever reacting to 'the mating habits of the earthbound human?' Despite the name it is not an adult movie, is actually a brilliant comedy on dating from a different perspective. Unfortunately this is the only trailer I can still find that makes sense. ua-cam.com/video/q3s9OFuEvhI/v-deo.html

    Fun Fact for you ladies:
The actor who did the scene parodying the "Chest Burster" scene in "Alien" was John Hurt, the actor whose character was the victim of the chest Burster in "Alien", thus, the reason why he'd spoke the line, "Oh, No, Not Again"

Great Reaction....... "Putting on the Ritz," "People Fall in Love Everyday"
George Lucas and Mel Brooks are Great Firends..... When Mel Told George about his movie idea, George gave Mel full access to ILM for the special Effects, The only Condiditions were "No Merchandise (No Copetition for Star Wars) and the lead could not look like Han Solo (So Mel Drssed him as Indiana Jones).....
Dot Matrix was an early type of printer for home computers, She is voiced by comedian Joan Rivers.....
Vespa is a classic european Scooter,
Prince Valium, Valium is a drug that makes ya sleepy, he is styled after the old Comic Strip "Prince Valiant" set in medevil times....
The Radar Guy is Michael Winslow who is best known as Larvell Jones from the Police Academy Movies.... and Yes, He makes all those sounds......
"Let's take a 5 minute break, Smoke 'em if ya got em"....... The spaceballs do not appear on screen for 5 minutes........
Mel Brooks like to play multiple roles in his movies...
Dark Helmet playing with the dolls was totally unscripted.... They just gave Rick the dolls and let him Improv/FreeStyle........
"May the Swartz be with you" was the slogan of Mel Brooks' Lawyer who was named Schwartz......
John Hurt actually reprized his role for the Aien diner scene....

Dark Helmet is played Rick Moranis. Rick Moranis has a long career in entertainment. Then 1997, Rick took a hiatus from acting to raising his children after his wife died in 1991. In 1997, Rick became full time father. Then Rick is slowly returning to acting with a few selected roles. Rick reprised his Dark Helmet to voice the villain on the sitcom, The Goldbergs in 2018. Besides Spaceballs, Rick starred in Honey, I shrunk the kids and its sequel, Honey, I blew up the kid. In 2020, Rick signed on for 3rd sequel in Shrink (Blew Up) series for "Shrunk"

One of my all time favourite movies!
Rick Moranis ended up costing Mel Brooks "a lot" of money, since the crew (including Brooks) couldn't help but laugh during his scenes, most notably when he first appears on screen and has breathing problems.
George Lucas lended the services of his company ILM to shoot some scenes. The escape pod dropping out was actually a (once) deleted scene from A New Hope. He agreed to let Brooks make the movie on the condition that he couldn't make merchandise, hence the running gag throughout the movie. And he didn't want Lone Star to dress like Han, so Brooks chose to dress him like Indiana Jones.
Rick Moranis improvised the entire scene where he plays with his dolls, he was sick and had a fever that day and still came up with one of the best scenes.
The original title was Planet Moron.
Brooks had a bad reaction to the Yogurt make up and got a bad rash around his eyes.
The voice Dark Helmet has when his... dark helmet visor is down is inspired by David Prowse, the physical actor for Darth Vader in the original trilogy, and how he sounded with the mask on set. You can find footage of it.

The radar operator at 11:05 is none other than Michael Winslow. He’s an actor, comedian, and beatboxer known as “The Man of 10,000 Sound Effects” for his ability to make realistic sounds using just his voice. He is best remembered for his role as Officer Larvell Jones in the Police Academy films.
The space trucker at 40:18 who has an Alien burst from his chest is actually John Hurt. He played Kane in Alien who was implanted by the face-hugger with an alien embryo. He’s literally doing a comedic spoof of the famous chestburster scene from Alien.

Oh, this one's perfect. You guys knocked it out of the park with the reaction and between Tori's dirty little mind and Toy's quick reactions to the callbacks, it was just perfect. An excellent job.
Also, the entire Mel Brooks filmography is worth checking out, and before I forget..

"They've gone to plaid" always makes me laugh, and I'm not sure why. Also, Yogurt's little group ("Dink, dink") are singing a march from a movie called The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957).

It’s been mentioned that Spaceballs 2 is in the works, and on of the ending scenes in History of The World Part I (Jews in Space) will be expanded on.
Also Mel Brooks played both the Governor Scroob and Yogurt.
He actually could not sell merchandise because of contractual agreements with Lucas Films and Star Wars.
Mel Brooks has made many movies and alsoo was a writer for the original Get Smart series. For his other movies I recommend in order: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Men in Tights, History of the World Part I.

You guys are probably too young to remember this, but in 1987, when I was 9 years old, ABC had a TV show called "Max Hedroom", which was an adaption of a British TV show, with a "computerized news anchor". He would always glitch and repeat things and stutter....in the Pizza the Hut scene, the robotic assistant and the guy who directs the call to that was a reference to Max Hedroom. 🙂
Lots of good things happened in 1987....the release of the IBM PS/2 line, IBM's first PC to use the new 80386, the first PC programs that made use of CD-ROM, such as Microsoft Bookshelf (it was text only!) and encyclopedias on the Mac that had graphics, and also the liquid nitrogen superconductor (way warmer than liquid helium ones), three Friday the 13ths.....and, my personal favorite event of 1987, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was released! 🙂

Loved your reaction to one of my childhood favourites! Especially your shocked look to both cameras!
The merchandise you saw throughout the story was bit of mild ribbing at George Lucas. He gave Mel Brooks permission to make this parody of "Star Wars", and even allowed him to borrow the facilities at ILM for the special effects. However, one of the conditions for Lucas doing so was that Brooks create and market no "Spaceballs" merch -- he didn't want competition or confusion with his own line of merchandise. So as an inside joke, Brooks filled the movie with merch instead!
"People fall in love every day" -- that would be a great film to watch with you. I also highly recommend "Now get in your mouse and go home" (Uncle Buck).
As for future Mel Brooks movies, I simply must request "Blazing Saddles".

The scene where Dark Helmet was playing with the action figures was 100% ad-libbed by Rick Moranis. You really can't go wrong with any Mel Brooks movie - Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights are his better-known films, but The 12 Chairs, High Anxiety (a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock movies), and Life Stinks are also pretty good.

In Greek mythology there’s someone who eats themselves to death (Erysichthon of Thessaly - I just checked). I think he chopped down a special tree, the rightful owner cursed him with an insatiable appetite and he eventually ran out of things to eat (I didn’t check that but I think it’s right(ish)).

Thank you, Toy, for introducing Tori to this comedy masterpiece! Have loved this movie for years and this was such a fun - and naughty - reaction to it from the both of you 😈 (Tori's "There she blows!" then her face when she realised what she said for example lol). I also love the reaction to the dancing alien - that whole homage to Alien is one of my favourite parts along with Lone Starr's showdown with Dark Helmet which is hilarious 🤣

Fun Facts: Although there are many jokes about merchandise, Spaceballs didn't actually have any. Apparently George Lucas asked Mel not to make any, which led to the merchandise jokes/gags within the film.
George also asked Mel not to have a character dressed like Han Solo, so Lone Starr is dressed like Indiana Jones instead.
Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), which was owned by Lucas, did the special effects for the film.
The Millennium Falcon (or a ship that looks just like it) is parked outside the space diner.

22:23 This is a gag. When Mel Brooks wrote Spaceballs he knew he would be sailing pretty close to infringing on Star Wars copyright. So he rang George Lucas and asked him if it was ok. They came to an agreement, part of which is Spaceballs couldnt produce any merchandise from the film
