I think one thing to note is that cetaceans probably happened because they’re ungulates. Their young can move shortly after birth. Carnivorans like weasels have fairly helpless young upon birth. But sea otters do spend almost their entire lives in the ocean and keep their babies safe on rocks or kelp beds. So I’m looking forward to seeing what you do to get fully aquatic otters
Amazing Texturing i can see, and i really cannot wait for what otters became and into what those lizards with already forming fins on the tail for greater water displacment will turn into, and what that relatively small fish will become.
Also after watching the video it's nice to see tat my idea about the patreon end was used. and it's really intresting that Flukers kept their front paws as i imagine that it also helps them if they get onto land. also i really cannot wait what will become in the future of everyone of these animals but especially of Sailtails and shark salmons. Also i wonder if we will get to see a potential otter that decided to focus on land as seeing a Tiger niche land Otter would be terryfying, and since otters from what i know were the biggest to be introduced they would have the biggest head start for that. Also it would be really nice to have a max potential size over left corner where there is a human to scale with the animal as for me that would be nice in case some animals grow to be too big or small to really be visible accurately to the human. Like i thought that over the animal would be max lenght and under it max height and under that max weight, and under the the animal the regular lenght, height and weight as that could put some animals more into perspective how they would be compared to our modern animals. Either way great video.
@@user-ie4ly2wp7j Thank you! For the book, I actually have some illustrations planned for just that! Between field guide pages describing individual species, I plan to have bigger illustrations done in a more painterly style of the species in their environment and interacting with other species :)

@@TheChimbler Thank you! Honestly my best tip for starting a seed world, especially your first, is try to keep it simple and concise in the beginning. With Mustelon, I kept the planet similar to Earth in size and climate mostly because my knowledge on how different kinds of planets and stars operate isn't very strong, but you're free to do whatever you like as long as you thoroughly research. Be sure to research everything from habitats, to the animals and plants you want to choose, and really consider how they could evolve in a new environment with no competition. Think about what your goals are for the project. What kinds of species and body plans do you want to arise, and how will extinction events caused by climate or volcanic activity affect them and what new species will come about as a result? Understanding ecology and evolution is important for this. As far as what animals to choose, really just pick whichever animals you're passionate about. Try to keep it simple though. I took a bit of a risk by having 12 founding species for Mustelon, but you can make it work if you plan carefully. Projects like Serina only have one or two major lifeforms to start with, which means greater chance for radiating diversity down the line. Limitation is the key to creativity.
