Installation of a Ranch Hand brand brush guard on an F150 PowerBoost.
10 out of 10 and a must buy for this USA made product. Right here in Shiner Texas.
All the parts were right. All the holes drilled properly. Everything bagged and labelled.
The hardest part was the nut plate is loose in the frame so you have to be extra careful during installation that you don't loose that rail. That would be a pain.
Boy howdy, does it make my F150 look nice - and it will protect my vehicle from the rough and tumble of my Texas ranch.

How long did it take to do? Looked a lot simpler than I expected

This was in the realm of DIY. I spent about 40 minutes on it total. I did some right things, like making sure the hidden nuts didn't slip away, and I had a fork truck to get the brush guard just right.
But seriously, don't lose those blind nuts. That will make for a bad day. I only unloosened them 1 by 1, and then put a bolt in them immediately.

Maybe an 1/8 inch. My trucks were ordered with tow package so they are stiff.
I do notice that it handles better. Smoothed out the ride.

Aligning the bolts to be able to keep the tow loops is a real pain, besides that it goes on fairly easy and looks Great

I agree. I'm not so sure I could have done this as a one man job with the forks on my tractors to adjust it around. That is what allowed me to get it installed without too much struggle. But does this make a vehicle look awesome.

I have never used those tow hooks with all the Fords I have owned. I am using mine for trotline weights

Recently just bought myself a 2022 F-150 XL, looking forward to sprucing up my vehicle with minor changes... Im curious to know how much a guard like this weighs and if it would effect mileage in any noticeable way as I use the vehicle as my daily driver

It is heavy. Let's say 120 lbs or so. But I found my truck handled better with the little bit of forward weight. Also, people respect my vehicle more. I got less people cutting me off with rabbit starts and rolling stops. No change in mileage at all. It makes for a better daily driver.

do you have the adaptive cruise control or Other front sensors did it mess with?

    • @1000YearHomes
      @1000YearHomes  5 місяців тому

You have to buy the brush guard that is made for those sensors. So, it didn't mess with my sensors as I had the correct brush guard.

The real question is who has a tractor 🚜 for rent I know it’s heavy 😅

I consider my tractor a 'business partner'. 😀
