Never used an air frier to cook seitan. Cool technique. Everything looks really great.

    Looks really awesome.
Question: i see you make a special cooking liquid to boil your seitan. I wonder how much that liquid actually do. Please make a video where you test the difference. Same "dough" of seitan. Cut into two and one part will boil in just (salted unsalted?!?) water and the other in the spiced water.
Nice video as always. Thanks for charing.

I don't actually salt the water most times. I wonder this as well tbh. Probably not worth wasting ingredients for the simmer!

I'm surprised you could boil it without slightly pan-frying the sides to keep it expanding and thereby getting the texture too fluffy.

@@PlantBasedBistro When I boil seitan dough just by itself it gets really spongy and soft, not a texture I enjoy. I either make it into a ball and wrap it really tightly in cheesecloth so it can't expand, or, if more like a burger patty like you made, I pan fry it on both sides before boiling to create a crust so it can't expand that much.

Well.. you don't boil it. Around 160ish F is what you want. Boiling makes it bready.

Looks good. I'd add jalapenos to my sandwich. No pickles, sub jalapenos.

I followed the link on Amazon and it stated it was vegetarian -- checked the label and didn't see any dairy or egg so assuming it's ok.

The one we use is definitely vegan. The one on aAmazon should be too.
