Could you do a video on another lost animated film called Beebylon. I’ve been doing a search for the film so if you want to ask any questions feel free to ask

@@ModwalletOFFICIAL I saw your post on the LMW Forums. Have you been able to contact anyone besides Bjorn Ringholm?

@@AllThingsLost Yep, including the main two film students and three possible candidates for producers.
Something you should know is that I kinda sorta got my IP banned from the Forums due to a lesser extent of tomfoolery on a Dr. T Boom Beach parody account. It was either that, or accidently sending a link to another forums site to someone who expressed distaste towards said Dr. T account.
Fortunately, the ban did not carry over to the Wiki itself, so search updates may be documented over on Beebylon's page there.

I feel that North Korea could have a lot of lost media that we don't know about. Thinking about it, given its isolationist status, there could be projects that either were shown to a limited audience or never got off the ground at all that we simply do not know about. We're lucky that we have so much knowledge about this film at all

    • @J0SHUAKANE

    • @Jhud69

North Korea is isolationist yes but they're not afraid to show off what they're proud of as part of propaganda, you can find English subbed (or even dubbed) North Korean animated films online fairly easily.
As a fun fact, you can book a trip to North Korea (just Pyongyang really) fairly easily depending on where you're from and it's not even overly usafe as long as you follow the rules, they allow this because they want to spread propaganda that they're not actually that bad.

Another piece of lesser-known Asian lost media that you might be interested in covering is 'Nezha: Transformers', a collaborative project of Allspark Animation and China Central Television (CCTV). It was a Chinese animated crossover series between the 'Transformers Cyberverse' and the 2003 'The Legend of Nezha' animated series, which was based on the ancient myth of Nezha, the Chinese boy god of protection. . The show revolved around Nezha allying with the Autobots against the Decepticons and an evil demoness who could also take the form of a giant robot. Nezha too would also gain a robotic form. It consisted of fifty-two eleven-minute episodes It was supposed to release in 2020, but was delayed by the pandemic. Aside from one trailer, there's been nothing else. I'd really like to see someone cover it and maybe it could finally be unearthed. It seems like the sort of of thing that deserves to be seen.

That was cool that Nelson Shin responded to you. (Sadly, I think his work on Star Wars that you mentioned was removed in the "Special Edition".) Just guessing here, but it's possible there's some legal entanglement preventing them from releasing it.
Regarding the animation looking "weird", AKOM doesn't produce the highest quality animation. They are contracted because they are cheaper than other studios.
They did indeed do a significant portion of the third season of The Transformers, and they look awful. The animation is so bad in some instances that it renders the episode incomprehensible. A drastic drop in quality from the previous two seasons which were mostly animated by Japan's Toei Animation.
The producers of Batman: The Animated Series eventually refused to use AKOM due to the low quality of their animation and the problems they encountered.
I believe the Mondo TV bootleg of Disney's Lion King (itself a knock-off of Tezuka's Jungle Emperor Leo (Kimba the White Lion)) was actually CALLED "The Lion King" in some territories, adding further confusion.

    • @SlapstickGenius23
      @SlapstickGenius23 9 місяців тому +4

But jungle emperor Leo, especially its manga source material, has a much different plot (or at least a variety of plots), leading to Leo himself having two cubs with his mate Lyre and then dying of a heart related sickness on a mountain. Pretty depressing for newbies but not for seasoned veterans I guess.

I think it’s funny you say “would eventually become a Republic” for South Korea when that’s skipping decades of them _both_ being dictatorships.
As for efforts to make it into a single unified country, things probably would have worked out if they were left to their own devices and the local committees hadn’t been either completely disregarded (or actively destroyed IE the Jeju Uprising) by American occupation or manipulated under Soviet occupation.

Not that there aren't severe problems with how the country is run, but I'd rather see the supposed TV show about trimming your hair to meet NK code than a kids' cartoon movie that happened to not be released, just to see if it's actually real and not made up by state-controlled US media.

I've also heard that many South Korean cartoons were knock-offs of Japanese anime which were done due to a ban on Japanese imports due to the war crimes the Japanese committed against the Koreans in WWII. Though I also heard that some anime were shown in South Korea, but they edited some scenes and removed the credits to make it seemed like they were made in South Korea

And it didn't stop with just their history with Japan, they also blatantly ripped off American properties like Wonder Woman and ET as well. But those bootlegged mech films tended to have caricatures of North Korean dictators as villains. Or at least one did and the cheapo company that edited them together to make more movies just used that footage over and over.

14:18 Definitely not. North Korea 🇰🇵 recently said that it considers South Korea 🇰🇷 to be its main adversary, and that reunification is no longer possible. Meaning that Pyongyang has pretty much abandoned the idea of reunification, and no longer sees South Korea 🇰🇷 as a piece of lost territory or as fellow brethren under a government they don't like, and instead see South Korea 🇰🇷 as just a straight up enemy like they do the United States 🇺🇸 and Japan 🇯🇵. All those "peace talks" in 2017-2018 never really amounted to anything, were just kind of meaningless. North Korea 🇰🇵 just went back to its old ways, keep on testing nuclear weapons ☢, and intimidating South Korea 🇰🇷 and Japan 🇯🇵.
