I just did this! There’s a way to not get it on your skin! You don’t have to put your nail right in the middle of the polish puddle. I did it at an extreme angle and the very edge of the polish puddle, so no gel on my skin or underneath the nail 🎉 I might make a short showing how because describing it through text sounds confusing haha
Yep - you could. It would help. But it’s literally up under my nail and super hard to get liquid latex under there and even harder to get the latex out from under there.
I love using this method. I wear longer nails than you show in this video so getting anything on my skin is a non-issue. I think the angle the nail is placed into the polish makes a huge difference. I absolutely LOVE this technique.
I saw this with marbled polish and my mind was blown! I can only imagine the amazing color tips that can be done with acrylic paints and the upcoming holidays!
Thank you for filming this and trying the different options and I’m glad to see it didn’t damage the stamper . I have quite a few stampers so I’m going to have to give this a try. I’m envisioning all different color combinations ❤️
I love using good ol acrylic paint for most of my nail art too! Unlike gel, it’s water based and won’t harm your skin. I can create ombré effects so much easier with acrylic than when I try working with gel. I just love acrylic paint. I’m so glad you used it for this TikTok trend! 😁👍🤩
I use this technique and only get a tiny bit of polish on my skin. Your pushing in too hard and you need to start pushing your nail in on the stamper at the spot where the polish starts, it works great
Thank you Marla for trying this and letting us know which trick is best to use! I'm gonna try to maybe only paint the top of my stamper so it doesn't get under my nails, along with liquid latex for the sidewalls🤞☺️
You are brilliant! As an artist, I have acrylics in so many colors. I’m definitely trying this today. Gonna marble the edges. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤️
I had the same results, I am so glad you posted this video, I thought it was just me that had bad results. The results were better with longer nails, but it was still all over the underneath of the nail free edge.
I love this idea! I’ve seen the stamper technique everywhere lately, but not using acrylic paint. I agree that cleaning up with acetone is not good for your skin and nails. This is brilliant!💕 I have seen that your nail can puncture the stamper though, so you might want to have a stamper dedicated to French nails.
I love wearing French but couldn't do it on myself...till now! This worked! I followed along with you and voila! I did my own beautiful French! Thanks a million Marla!
Another issue to consider is that acrylic paint is not meant to touch skin and can cause chemical burns etc. especially if left on long enough to sit and dry. So, like anything, if you are prone to skin reactions acrylic paint isn't the way to go either. Just use liquid latex around the edges or if you're allergic use a thin layer of white school glue then peel off when dry.
Thank you, I just bought a stamper because I wanted to do French tip but didn’t have the special nail polish. I do have acrylic though so I’m excited to try.
I don't know if someone has already commented this, but in the original video she has her nail parallel to the stamper at first, and slides it forward into the polish before pushing her nail down into it
WOW!! That acrylic paint! I tried this on a swatch stick last week with gel. Was not a fan. I will be doing this on my next mani! Oh wait! I was going to do your marble with the chrome veins you did the other day!! NAIL DILEMMAS!! Thanks for another real life “does it work?” video. 🥰
I am so glad you did this video! I saw this hack on tiktok. I forgot the name of the bottle, I tried silicone bottle top, no not it. Then I retyped French nail hack and there you were! Thanks for doing this demo.
Oml you are the only one i know who talked about gel allergy. Weird thing, i had developed it last year. Just last week i decided to do a skin patch to see if i still have it and nothing happened. After i used it on my nails as well and I’m surprisingly okay (touch wood). But absolutely love the idea of acrylic paint

I tried this technique today using the same paint you used. I used CND vinylux top coat. I can't wait to see how durable the products are together. Either way, the technique is brilliantly easy. Clean up is a breeze... soap and water.. easy peasy.

You can wipe off the nailpolish on the side with nailpolish remover, and if ur patient u can just wait for it to dry on ur skin and peel it off. This is an alternative if u don’t have liquid latex!
Thanks for the demo! I’m so excited to try! Question, I’ve never used acrylic paint on my nails, how do you remove from your nails when you are ready to change manis? Does it come off with acetone?
Acrylic paint comes off with water, although you will need to remove your top coat with acetone. That’s the beauty of doing nail art with acrylic paint! You can easily wash off any mistakes with water without damaging your traditional polish beneath!
This is really a great idea and I liked how even the acrylic paint looks on the nail.. i was never able to get a solid edge like that with polish. However I don’t know if it’s me but the tips started to peel off within a couple of hours after I finished even though I applied 2 layers of top coat and dried for over a minute each (light for gel polish). Does that happen to you as well? Is there any tips you can give to avoid peeling?
I was waiting to see a tutorial on this! Great job at reviewing the different options🥰 Did you use gel top coat or regular polish top coat? I would love to see this done with different colours of acrylic, I assume it would work just as well… 🤍
I used gel top in this video BUT I did it again (not filmed) where I encapsulated it with clear dip, activated, and dip top so you can use whatever top you want! They all work well!
This was so helpful! I was going to use white gel but going with acrylic paint instead. I can't wait to try it myself. Wondering though how long the acrylic paint lasted without capping the free edge with your gel top coat.
i'm going to need to try this! i'm curious what you use to cleanup the gel polish from your skin...any recommendations? whenever i get gel polish on my skin, i end up using water but it never goes away :/
For shorter nails, maybe scrape your nail into the polish, to clear a path as you push in to have less mess under, or at least to try to avoid getting it under your free edge? I love the look and idea, but it would people with brittle nails, or really long nails can't really do that unless they had a much softer silicone item, or stamp.
Wow, this is so beautiful and satisfying!! thank you for testing this method for us (: Also, can you please share how did you clean the stamper after the polish? Because I know some products might damage it..
Back in the day all nail art work and airbrush was done with acrylic paint. All I would get is my French manicure. Looks great 👍 are those rubbers stampers on Amazon or Some where easy to find?
Ok the suggestion I had has already been said so I guess I’m going to go find some acrylic paint and a soft stamper thx for the hack. Also good to know you can dip a top coat tfs going to try the multicolor acrylic paints and get the stamper you used on Amazon thx 🙏🏾 wish me luck
Amazing! I was actually trying to figure this out last night and wake up to all the answers! Thank you so much! Off to buy acrylic paint and a jelly stamper!❤️❤️❤️
Would you say it would be better to do a French nail service on clients using this acrylic paint? Or would some people have allergies to it? Also how long would you wait for the acrylic paint to dry before you can add gel top coat?
I’m not a nail tech nor am I a chemist.. but personally, I’d feel safer using acrylic paint on others as opposed to gel Polish which is known to cause significant allergies. I waited about 10 minutes but it dries down in about 5 depending on the thickness. Make sure to cap the edges for a longer lasting mani

I love the look and idea, but it would people with brittle nails, or really long nails can't really do that unless they had a much softer silicone item, or stamp.
Wow, this is so beautiful and satisfying!! thank you for testing this method for us (:
Also, can you please share how did you clean the stamper after the polish? Because I know some products might damage it..
Yes! Soap and water. Zero damage!
Back in the day all nail art work and airbrush was done with acrylic paint. All I would get is my French manicure. Looks great 👍 are those rubbers stampers on Amazon or Some where easy to find?
I saw the links in the description box. Thanks. Lovely nails as always.
Wow!! That turned out so gorgeous!!!!😍😍😍
Amazing! I was actually trying to figure this out last night and wake up to all the answers! Thank you so much! Off to buy acrylic paint and a jelly stamper!❤️❤️❤️
Lol you’re welcome, darlin!! 🥰
Where do you buy a jelly stamper from ?
@@tamaraa9846 Marla has a store front on Amazon and I just got one from there!!!
Does it ruin the stamper? I'm worried about poking holes in it🤔 looks awesome?
Also any acrylic paint u recommend? Ty?
Mine was perfectly fine! No stamper was harmed! I like the apple barrel matte acrylic paint. That’s my go-to
@@MarlaKris thanks so much!!
Brilliant! Thanks for hacking the hack! Off to get some white acrylic paint!
👍🤩😍OMG this is fantastic. Thank you. 💝
Hi I am in NZ Where do you buy Acrylic Nail Polish and which brand? I love doing the French manicures with the jelly stamp!! Love your video 😀
Yessssss! I have been waiting for you to do this video! I totally want to try this with some really pretty metallic teal paint that I have. This may be my next mani 🤗
Hello! I like u saw this when looking at social media and had to have it. So to Amazon I went! Lol! I have not tried mine yet but have had it a couple weeks. (Had no time, was in process of selling house and getting it ready.) But I am ready to do it! I got it mainly for the stencil part. I want to stamp them that way. Do u have a video on that?? Ty! 😁
This is AMAZING!!! Can’t wait to give it a try!! Thanks for the tip!!! Made my day!
I’m telling you!! You’re welcome, darlin! 💙
