    I just did this! There’s a way to not get it on your skin! You don’t have to put your nail right in the middle of the polish puddle. I did it at an extreme angle and the very edge of the polish puddle, so no gel on my skin or underneath the nail 🎉
    I might make a short showing how because describing it through text sounds confusing haha

    Just a thought but you could put liquid latex around your nail so all you have to do is pull it off. But they look beautiful

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  3 роки тому +70

      Yep - you could. It would help. But it’s literally up under my nail and super hard to get liquid latex under there and even harder to get the latex out from under there.

    I love using this method. I wear longer nails than you show in this video so getting anything on my skin is a non-issue. I think the angle the nail is placed into the polish makes a huge difference. I absolutely LOVE this technique.

    I love using good ol acrylic paint for most of my nail art too! Unlike gel, it’s water based and won’t harm your skin. I can create ombré effects so much easier with acrylic than when I try working with gel. I just love acrylic paint. I’m so glad you used it for this TikTok trend! 😁👍🤩

    I love this idea! I’ve seen the stamper technique everywhere lately, but not using acrylic paint. I agree that cleaning up with acetone is not good for your skin and nails. This is brilliant!💕 I have seen that your nail can puncture the stamper though, so you might want to have a stamper dedicated to French nails.

    Another issue to consider is that acrylic paint is not meant to touch skin and can cause chemical burns etc. especially if left on long enough to sit and dry. So, like anything, if you are prone to skin reactions acrylic paint isn't the way to go either. Just use liquid latex around the edges or if you're allergic use a thin layer of white school glue then peel off when dry.

    I was so excited to try this. I have tried every other French method with no luck. My first hand was beautiful. I used gel polish and gel top coat. When working on my second hand, hand number one just peeled right off. I could remove all the white with my finger nail. So bummed out. Any suggestions with why I might have had an incompatibility with the gel products and the acrylic paint? I didn't think anything could get away from a gel topcoat since God knows we spend enough time trying to soak and grind the stuff off. Wonder if regular nail enamel would work better but it always chips so easily. Your thoughts are appreciated.

    I have the stuff that you can put all around your on your fingernail that is latex based that you can pull off when your done. It would work great for this!!!

      It would work mostly lol it does get all up under the nails tho. So some minor scrubbing out is required for nails of my length at least

    This is really a great idea and I liked how even the acrylic paint looks on the nail.. i was never able to get a solid edge like that with polish. However I don’t know if it’s me but the tips started to peel off within a couple of hours after I finished even though I applied 2 layers of top coat and dried for over a minute each (light for gel polish). Does that happen to you as well? Is there any tips you can give to avoid peeling?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  Рік тому

      Absolutely! So after you do your French and it dries completely, use a gel base first. Then gel top. And make sure to cap the edge well with both ❤️

    This looks so easy. If you use dip liquids, at what point do you activate before applying the top coat?

    This is so cool!! Question: can you use acrylic paint to stamp?

      I’ve tried with stamping plates and it didn’t work well, sadly.

    I was waiting to see a tutorial on this! Great job at reviewing the different options🥰
    Did you use gel top coat or regular polish top coat?
    I would love to see this done with different colours of acrylic, I assume it would work just as well…

      I used gel top in this video BUT I did it again (not filmed) where I encapsulated it with clear dip, activated, and dip top so you can use whatever top you want! They all work well!

    Thanks for the demo! I’m so excited to try! Question, I’ve never used acrylic paint on my nails, how do you remove from your nails when you are ready to change manis? Does it come off with acetone?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  3 роки тому +2

      Yep! You can use acetone of file it off! Super easy to remove!

    • @deliriousrobinnails300
      @deliriousrobinnails300 3 роки тому +4

      Acrylic paint comes off with water, although you will need to remove your top coat with acetone. That’s the beauty of doing nail art with acrylic paint! You can easily wash off any mistakes with water without damaging your traditional polish beneath!
