This whole thing resonates with me for one reason, Eric. I was a drug addict and alcoholic in Minnesota until 1986, which is when I cleaned up. One of the counselors that I clicked with said it's a good idea to leave the place you used in, because it's chock full of the drinking and drugging triggers, which is something I know you probably understand well. I moved to NYC in 1986, and although it's had its own share of big challenges, I no longer drank and could focus on getting healthier via therapy.

Man, the memories we have in that town. The trees we climbed, the cemetery and muddy ponds and creek beds. The pacific northwest called me real hard and im so glad i did. Regardless of where ya end up we need to catch up one of these days. Good luck bro!

Hey Eric you are a good person . Dont let anyone tell you different. By the way I looked up the violent offender registration bill for Missouri. Last action was Feb 21 2024 and as of May 17 2024 it was dead. So I guess it didnt pass

Well, you really did talk like we were sitting across from you and here on my side,
everything became so quiet in the room as I was listening in shock and sadness for the extent of abuse you went through. You are definitely making the right decision.

Ya know something. I visited Austin Texas last year and loved it. It's a huge music town and as far as politics go.... They call it a blue city in a red state and it's the strangest thing because the people you think are conservative are actually more liberal and vice versa. Pretty cool really.
    Florida is always great.
I have watched this channel for a while now. You seem happier now than I have ever seen you.
I have watched that happiness grow and I'm all for keeping it up. Makes me happy for you.

Yeah I can understand why you would want to move away from the memories. I live in western NYS. There seems to be some opportunity in the skilled trades up here. Of course there are the winters. Best of luck to you in sorting out the move.

Also, i work for myself out here. I charge 25 an hour for basic jobs and up to 50 an hour for specialized jobs i.e. airplane work, electrical, or anything over 20ft high. I am swamped with word of mouth referring and i dont say no often to work lol. Its poppin out here. Currently working on a refer trailer 53ft conversion, if ya end up this way itll be better than your car lol. If ya help on the property rent can be reduced. I moved out here to make the money, save up and buy a chunk of land. Got our schoolie about 10% done so at least we are making progress. Once we get the wifes business going we should speed up a little towards our goal.

You would be perfect in Nashville if you're open minded. But I don't think the weather is better pollen is awful. But the pay is high. But also is housing.

This was a heavy video. I can see why leaving is a good idea. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of it and I hope that these next steps go smoothly and the future will be a lot brighter.

dang man, sorry to hear about the rough childhood. i hope you'll get past it and bring about change for the new generation... also F kansas reg laws, that's very fulfilling of purpose of fresh start for those who have served their time and completed their "debt to society".... texas might be an option for you, booming economy and lots to do, but pretty right wing & deathly hot (literally people are dying from the heat here). good luck.

you realize you're trying to undergo a giant move in the midst of the worst US economy in decades && the highest costs (and rising) in US history? (2nd or 3rd worse standard of living as well)

I'm sure he understands it's like me i wouldn't mind moving out of here after 35 years of living in Western Washington Pacific Northwest i was born and raised here but at this point in the game like you were saying due to the high costs of living and not counting moving costs alone just to get to that other state and this freaking state is very expensive but most of my family is here plus i got a elderly mother health wise she needs my help and im the only one here that she has to help her so i guess in some circumstances i feel it's for a reason.
