- The Florida State Seminoles defeated in-state rival Florida, 45-38 to finish the regular season 9-3 and on a 5-game winning streak. Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis threw for 270 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Seminoles to the win. Trey Benson rushed for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns for FSU and caught 2 passes for 51 yards. Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson threw for 198 yards and 3 touchdowns and freshman running back Trevor Etienne rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown. Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall caught 5 passes for 148 and 2 touchdowns.
One hell of a game. This what rivalry is all about. Hat's off to both teams.

The athleticism is just incredible on both sides. Such intensity on both sides. Travis was the difference in the game. He is so elusive and can throw on the run.
As a gator fan that’s watched him in multiple games not just this one he’s super impressive. Got good speed and quickness with a pretty good arm as well. Not on the Manziel (college)/Kyler Murray level but pretty close and that’s VERY high praise in my book.
As a Gator fan whose family is split 50/50 fans of both teams, this rivalry game is a special one. The Noles finally got us this year, but this was such a fun game to watch regardless.

Travis can throw some wobbly floaters and then some bullets . But he’s quite active . He’s a More Nifty runner than Richardson, the QB of Florida, who’s more solid and bigger.

I love FSU. So glad they won. I used to never watch college football, only the NFL. Slowly over the years I began to gravitate more and more to college and away from the NFL to the point where I hardly ever watch the NFL anymore. Only college. I love the history, tradition and rivalries. The fan bases are so rabid. The season goes by to fast.🏈

Mr. Jordan is to be commended for his observation abilities, his throwing arm, his eyes, his legs and accompanying joints; my only "worry" is about his is his general build and how he'd hold up under professional football physics. FSU has had some spindly QBs in recent years and they were always getting crumpled, nicked, and crunched. My counsel would be for him to stay at FSU, get his degree, vie for the Heisman, get FSU the ACC Championship Trophy, beat Florida again next year, and vie for the national crown. Entertaining game marred by atrocious officiating on the last Fla drive. They threw three flags -- all bad calls -- and failed to throw two flags when they should have. They batted 100%, getting every call wrong.
PS. I'm not complaining about the outcome. I had no dog in the fight. If anything, I was rooting for FSU, and Travis outplayed Richardson, so in some sense, it was a just result. It just leaves a bad taste to see such bad and inconsistent officiating.
Gators always blaming the refs when they lose. Been that way since the 90's
@@jerryanderson7257 As i wrote in the PS, I'm not a Gator nor a Seminole fan. I root for a different ACC team, so I was happy with this result.
Most fans blame refs, especially in football and in basketball. Some of the time, they have good reason to blame them. Other times, they think they've been screwed when they've actually gotten more than their share of the bad calls. It's human nature to lose one's objectivity when your team is playing.
My sense is that the officiating in basketball has always been poor and inconsistent, and that the officiating in football has gotten worse. Some of the RTP, late hit and targeting calls and illegal blocking calls are absolutely ridiculous, and the OPI and DPI calls are beyond inconsistent. It's gotten to the point where every time there's a big play, you wonder whether they're going to throw another flag. It becomes harder to watch and enjoy because you can't even celebrate a great play. When there's no flag, it might go to the replay booth. it kills some of the spontanaity and excitement.

Having a consistent refereeing game is beyond his thought process. Considering the past 3 years of Florida beating them, I'm fine with the loss. Its the calls WHICH DO PLAY A FACTOR in these games. But,,,,Florida hasn't been a great team since Urban Meyer...so nothing new!
And to think, I'd been so disappointed with FSU football the past few years, I haven't watched a live game in almost seven years, but win against Miami and Florida? That's all I could wish for. I suppose I'll tune into the Cheezit

The smaller speedsters seem to be more susceptible to that defensive punch out of the ball by defense. I just saw that a lot in UCLA game. Then here FSU’s speedster’s skinny little arms couldn’t hold on to the ball either. This is an intense game. But not like UCLA v. USC in L.A., CA, where they fight, especially neighborhood folks who knife and shoot each other. Worse than soccerEuropean hooligans in L.A.

Yes and can be clearly seen at 9:16 on replay. Seems to have happened about the 18 yard line, so I think with the penalty should have been 1st & goal at around the 9. Drive ended in missed FG, very good chance of a TD instead if the FM is called. He almost ripped his head off! But no call!

It’s not in this video, but the analyst octupled down on being wrong on the PI on 4th down. They had already let one go on third down. The truck even paused it for him and he stopped talking mid-sentence for a second. Then they missed the face mask (I did too, initially) to seal the game

before Fla's 4th TD, where PI was called in the end zone, the pitiful ACC refs missed that the play clock was on zero when the ball was snapped. Glad FSU won, but receivers still drop way too many catchable passes, linebackers don't know how to plug holes on short yardage runs, and DBs play receivers' faces instead of the ball (last 2 issues are coaching related). Poor tackling also. But as I said, very glad FSU held on and won the game.

I would rather lose to Miami than the Gators, but I think that Florida played good on offense considering their injuries. I think both teams showed up and played hard for a great game. In the middle of the game I had told my son that win or lose this was turning out to be a great and memorable game.
This game, on prime time TV before a national audience, will help both teams and I think they will both improve the next year. I don't think we will ever be at the point of a long term dynasty of the past due to the transfer portal, kids leaving early for NFL as well as coach and assistant coaching turnover to other teams and NFL added to the mix. I do think that BOTH UF and FSU will be strong football teams and higher in the power rankings and that makes both teams perform better. Being a traditionalist, I do like the Gators being the last regular game of the season even if either or both are in their respective conference championship game. Some UF fans don't, but hey UF keeps us on the schedule at that time period. And to be honest it is better than most bowl games.
