When it come to the evasion armor problem that's not really on me that's a balancing problem in the game right now so unless grinding gear games fix the imbalance between life and energy Shield there's not really much I personally can do about that

My biggest complaint as a casual weekend player is there is no way we have the required orbs to experiment and craft. I was worried that all the tuber would change their builds as they hit end game . I don’t have time for one character let alone another. I only have 5 exalts finally hitting maps last night exhausted and my gear isn’t even maxed . The game is so layered it be impossible for a normal guy to figure out a truly maxed character. Might as well play the lotto. I think I’m pretty decent at gaming and would like to be doing endgame stuff but when the task is so overwhelming it doesn’t feel good. I like to problem solve but needing the keys to do it
I definitely understand where you're coming from and I really hate making videos like this. I guess the fact that the game is new and the fact that there's still a lot of things being discovered is a bit unfortunate but somewhat expected sadly. Hope I didn't disappoint you my man
You keep saying 'for this build'. That's good. I think the gemling can rule alot of areas others can't reach. Grenades? Awesome. Lightning xbow? Awesome. Lightning monk? Awesome. I bet you can make most things awesome with the gemling somehow, but I agree. Explosive build is much better on witch Hunter for the simple fact that you stack alot of area magnitude, and that very magnitude will also make culling strikes and the AOE explosion even better.
idk man, i'm pretty tanky with 60% armor, 74% evasion, and 2.5k max hp, also i skilled the max. res per 4 color socket ascendancy, so i'm currently at 79% fire+lightning and 77%cold res, my explosive shot damage is more than double of your tooltip dmg, i agree that the 2 supp gem ascendancy is not worth it for this build compared to the ranger lightning arrow build explosive shot does waaay to few damage to bosses, but i'm having fun with it on maps

Im only level 55 and haven’t focused on energy shield at all. Is that something I should start building up?

I went left towards beef and it gave me great defense. I’m not as far as you though so idk how it will hold up in late game

I like gemlimg but the ascendancy skills need buffs. They are all sort of underwhelming.
Agreed I thought it would be a lot better than what it is.
There is as hell of you build right it the only path in the game that lets you use the same support skill or different skills
Your build is wrong to start with. And just swap to the non cross bow build that one shoot everything with one button
Your build with gemling is just wrong.
