The campaign can be long but here are some tips: Start on Hard or the one above hard. You get a little less time the harder you go so the missions are quicker. If you do challenging, some missions are an hour. 1 day equals one minute of game time. If you have a mission where you get 60 days to win, that's a guide of how long it'll take. You can beat half the missions in less time and you don't have to wait till the last wave. Nest of the Harpy is an example. You get 60 days but I always beat it by the 40th day. Skip recording the missions where you have the single outpost to defend. You'll know them as they are the floating heads blocking access to new areas. There is one, early on where there are 20K of the slowest infected and if you just wait for them to get to you, it takes 20 minutes. I always get my army chasing on that one to lessen the time. Hero missions are usually 20-30 mins but that's me having played the campaign at least 10 times. There are going to be two missions that your hero will be weak on. Regardless of which hero you choose. The fastest way to win is with upgraded soldiers. They murder everything. Especially when you can get Academy of Immortals ( a monument) which instantly makes all soldiers vets. Some of the monuments are very, very handy. Up to you which ones. I figured you could chop off 25 videos from your last campaign. My last campaign, if I was recording would have been 35 vids with the above adjustments, roughly. Good luck.
Damn that finale was close. A view key things you might want to keep rustfree: More housing as people and gold are your main ressources. Anything else could be bought at the market. Leave some key paths, so you units can move quick. Your Titans couldn't move at some stages. Flat walls/defense are great early on as you can cover a lot of space with view ressources. Lategame you want some V/U shapes, or even some funnels so you can focus as much firepower as possible. Any unit/tower that can not hit, and more or less any wall that doesn't get hit is wasted.
He left all those houses to be taken over. Didn't build up his palace defense which is all he really needed to do, and left half or more of his army trapped on outer defenses.. this was chaos.
Really enjoyed this series! Would love to see you check out Age of Darkness if you haven't already, you'd have a blast with it!! Basically a more modern version of TAB, still in active development, and nearing 1.0 release :-)
If you play the campaign, please feel free to time lapse through the hero missions where you have to go through the locations with your one character and slowly kill the zombies over about an hour. Those missions might be fun to play for some but, imo, they are generally boring to watch. By contrast, this was very entertaining and got me to re-install and play the game again.
yes. the final wave is what we came here for. i probably have only beaten this game like 3 times in my life lol. the others - my companies either collapes early or failed to defend in the final wave
Spontaneous. He didn't know it was final but that westside and southside was painful to watch. But exciting in the end! Scorched earth might have been a tactic after your buildings were defeated.
I forgot how it doesn't matter how many people we lost, all that matters is the command center resisting 😅😆🤣 a win is a win, even if we lost like 2500 people to the hordes
18:27 *Spoilers* Honestly, Odd's lack of foreknowledge of when the final wave would hit makes this moment feel so much more impactful and cinematic. Like the city planners are arguing about wood and defenses, the soldiers are asleep or on leave at a bar somewhere, most of the town is asleep. Then all of a sudden the radar man starts freaking out and people are scrambling to get ready, and in the absolute chaos people are getting turned around and haphazard defenses are being put up.
Another campaign would be great. It should be on brutal or nightmare difficulty (although apocalypse would be awesome) with all of the losses posted. The solo missions might be a bit boring since they all play out the same way. Maybe just post those in a montage fashion with the highlights, if any.
In retrospect, you had some horseshoe terrain that may have worked well as a _sink_ trap. Throwing in walls and shock towers in them should be incredibly distracting and wasteful to the waves. These creations have the combined benefit of a condensed kill zone, and wasting numerical resources on useless corridors. Of course, infrastructure resources are limited, so the terrain has to be practically perfect.
Instead of pushing out so faaaar. Wouldn't it be better to just focus resources around building thicker walls and towers around just your main Castle? You retreat to there when needed and all your concentrated armies could just blast away at the hordes. Gosh what a waste of massive resources this seems. His main palace was already surrounded by impossible terrain too making it even better to build a kickass defense around it. He's also going to trap many of his strong army to be slaughtered pushing outward so far.
Ya'll asking for a campaign playthrough of this game are crazy. TAB's campaign is unbearably boring and tedious, in my humble opinion. But if it's what the masses want then I can't blame Odd for going that direction. I'll just keep waiting patiently for the next XCOM 2 campaign.
Well done. I was folding laundry shouting DESTROY YOUR FRICKEN HOUSES!!! 😂
Yeah that might have helped!
LOL
You won't ever cease to amuse me when you repeat your line when a character says "what" or "wah" lol!!
@@METALFREAK03 I was going to say exactly the same thing haha
Let’s see a campaign 🎉
I was waiting for that Ralph Wiggum "I'm in danger" moment and this episode delivered in spades.
Bro, you couldn't have cut that much closer! What a dramatic finish! That was great fun, Odd, and I fully support doing another campaign.
I’m impressed! After 6 years, very well done
Definitely a campaign. Thanks for all the amazing videos.
Loved this and can't wait for more.
I really like your content, you got me into They are Billions, but i would like to see you do a survival map without pausing.

Great advice!
I say, we want to See everything!!!
I cannot believe how close this game was. Really enjoyed this run man!
this was way too funny. I think odd has a knack for making it to the finish line with 1% remaining, just like frostpunk. But a win's a win baby!

Wow, what an exciting ending. Good job!
Talk about a close call!
Hell yea, campaign. Can't wait!!!
this channel has helped me through some shit so thanks dude
Hopefully the shit is behind you now.
Well done. Id like to see the campaign and more of these large map levels. great video, you only just made it!
Helluva an ending. Can't wait for the Campain. Let's get those views up all!!
That. Was. Awesome.
He left all those houses to be taken over. Didn't build up his palace defense which is all he really needed to do, and left half or more of his army trapped on outer defenses.. this was chaos.
I thrive in chaos!
Yes sir campaign run!!!!🤙
alright fine, you convinced me. I'll download the game and play it again
good stuff man
I guess taking the mayor with the building barriers was a good idea after all...
I was against that mayor too, but it did work out didn't it
Yay for campaign!!
CAMPAIGN TIME BABYYYY

This series was a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind seeing more. 😁
... Fiiiiiiiine, you win, I reinstalled the game.
Phew! That was SWEATY :)
I had a whole comment written but-
...essentially, please do bite off more than you can chew.
I love these Odd. I want a campagn. It should be good.

I originally subscribed because you were playing this game, I'll admit to dropping off when you pivoted. I do enjoy your playing of this game
Hello Walter
Your emoiional state is like a yoyo! LOL
I was going to call your Defenses "Haphazard" but "WHACK" is a much better description... :)
Spontaneous.
He didn't know it was final but that westside and southside was painful to watch. But exciting in the end! Scorched earth might have been a tactic after your buildings were defeated.
Well that was close and cool
I forgot how it doesn't matter how many people we lost, all that matters is the command center resisting 😅😆🤣 a win is a win, even if we lost like 2500 people to the hordes
A new campaign would be cool! 😎
Better than my attempt to get back into the game. Didn't make it to the final wave at all. 😅
Nice crisis management!
The moity taiten is heaee

I love this game but so often at the end of a game I feel like it's sucked out my soul for hours and hours of my life. I feel completely empty.
Campaign!!!
Hey odd, you should check out the game Against the Storm. Its a rogue-like city builder with an existential threat like TAB
Another campaign would be great. It should be on brutal or nightmare difficulty (although apocalypse would be awesome) with all of the losses posted. The solo missions might be a bit boring since they all play out the same way. Maybe just post those in a montage fashion with the highlights, if any.

just 999972862 more to go until they were a billion...
Either campaign or more challenge maps pls. :)
Well, the final wave was in their billions (not literally).
GG, lots of hickups but you eventually pulled through.
I'm here for a campaign
try doing a 900% survival map

I’m not sure if anyone has asked yet but please can you play the campaign 😊
I would just do maps until august then do a full campaign.
I'm so.bummed that this is it. We NEED a campaign ODD! Appease the masses!
Still no wasp love :(
I am surprised as they are easy to en masse and defend tight areas, obviously executors are better though.

Not pretty, but you made it.
The thing I do not like about this channel is how loud the music always is.
