Thank you so much for this lovely history of Mitchum line where I lived for many years,
Excellent, thank you for sharing.
I worked in the Thrale hotel in 1978 the owners then were Two brothers named Campbell Also Mrs Oliver who was related to the Campbells I worked on the reception desk and it was very popular with travelling salesmen .Also the Wurzels stayed ther during that year .
Great video. I’ve lived in Streatham for 20 years and this is so informative and well put together. Great effort. Thanks

very good. interesting.
Thank you so much for this video, which I have just viewed with great enjoyment. I have lived in Australia for almost 50 years but was born in 1950 in Westcote Road (opposite ‘The Thrale ‘ pub as it was always known to us and upon the corner of which still stands the existing empty site where the bomb hit in World War II) and lived there for 20 years or more. My continuous family history in the street goes back to the 1800s so it’s very interesting to see the area through the eyes of my family as they would have seen in those days. One brother still lives there in fact, so the history continues. I do have one question though-there were several mentions of the Thrale Hall hotel being a hotel up until the 1960s, but unless I’m mistaken it was still a going concern when I had my wedding night there in 1973! Many thanks again and please keep up the good work!
I also lived in Westcote Road from 1971 up to 2008 when I also moved to Australia!
I would love to know something about Leigham Vale where I lived as a child.
