ASMR Whisper | Wandering in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Join me for a relaxing whispered wander in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion! Just like the Morrowind wander I put out last week, this video has been requested countless times over the years, and I felt it was finally time! We begin our stroll in the dappled shade of the Great Forest before travelling westward along the Red Road, where we catch dazzling views of White-Gold Tower and the Imperial City, and then down to the sparkling shores of Lake Rumare. As the sun sets, we wend our way to Weye and find a cozy corner at the Wawnet Inn to while away the night.
ASMR triggers include whispering and relaxing sounds like footsteps, sighing breezes, birdsong, lapping water, and crackling fire. I recommend listening with headphones for the best experience!

---- WHAT IS ASMR? ----
My videos are designed to trigger a relaxing feeling known as ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). ASMR is a particular sensation that some people experience when they hear quiet sounds like whispering and soft speaking, or watch certain actions like slow hand motions. ASMR is often described as a pleasant tingling on the head and neck, accompanied by a feeling of deep calm and mild euphoria. Many people watch ASMR videos to relax and combat anxiety, stress, or insomnia. To learn more about ASMR, check out asmruniversity....

Mod list coming soon! There are a lot of them, and I'm in the process of compiling it. Thanks for your patience!
This is my quarantined vacation destination!
I hope you enjoy your soothing trip to the idyllic land of Cyrodiil 😊
How do you end up getting better?! Oblivion is so peaceful it actually makes me go lay down after a session. It's probably the only Elder Scrolls game where I find actual peace and tranquility, just imagining the adventures this fantasy world can give me. Another great choice! Keep up the good work!
I really appreciate the kind words, thank you!! I agree, the dappled forests and tranquil meadows of Cyrodiil are so idyllic. The wind rustling the leaves in the trees...
@@theASMRnerd It's honestly still brilliant to just wander to this day. The Heart of Tamriel is certainly that, its beating beautiful heart full of life. It's simply breathtaking. And not at all what I expected when you enter a game called "Oblivion" and start off in a prison!
I love the Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion it was my childhood I used to play it on the Xbox 360 I had some good times with that game
Amen. ♥️♥️
Me too i loved killing everyone on the city and stealing all their stuff sneakily
AH memories 😌
Ive been going down memory lane recently by listening to the oblivion soundtrack while painting miniatures! It's become a new hobby of mine during quarantine and I really enjoy it. Jeremy soule makes it even better. This video is the icing on the cake to end the day! :)
I always enjoyed TES IV’s colors, whether it’s the green forests or the blood-red oblivion stages. No matter how much I tweak Skyrim, I can just never get its colors to “pop” like Oblivion’s do.
A lot of people complain about that but I agree with you, I like it, it gives oblivion some personality
Exactly. Oblivion has a bit more shine to it in the lighting effects that makes oblivion stand out in a good way.
ENB and a couple of flora mods make Skyrim very colorful without being over-saturated. Vanilla Oblivion has way too much bloom so I mod that out.
Tbf there’s only certain areas where there actually is color. Skyrim is very gray lol.
Man, this music brings back some serious nostalgia. Can't wait for wandering in skyblivion
When does it release?
@@experimentalghoul3540
Developers showed in trailer that release date is in 2025... So yeah, not anytime soon
The elder scrolls games are so wholesome. Oblivion and Skyrim will always have a special place in my heart.
My goodness. This is where it all started for me. My first taste of the elder scrolls....Oblivion. I’ve been hooked ever since. THANK YOU!!!! Be safe Nick.
Oblivion is relaxing so long as you don't see anyone's face - instant nightmares.
Yes, I was relieved when he chose not to engage the barkeep in conversation.
It's still better than Morrowind
*Fargoth PTSD intensifies*
Its not even bad.. its nostalgic
Thank you so much, Nick. Needed this a lot. Be safe
I hope it helps whisk you away from whatever troubles you to somewhere beautiful and soothing. Thanks for the well wishes, the same to you :)
This game is the definition of childhood for me. The background music is just beautiful. So much nostalgia
It’s always a welcome return when the ASMR Nerd is around!
I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this!!!! It made me want to dig out all my ESO games!!!
Ah I liked the Oblivion map :D
I love just finding your comments on different videos I watch because I mostly watch asmr gaming. It’s really cool to see a content creator being a fan too!! Love your stuff a lot man gotta get them tactical tingles

'stop! you've violated the law. Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence.'
god i would watch about a billion of these, this is so soothing and lovely
Never expected this but I'm glad! Props to you on modding the hell out of Oblivion. I know from personal experience that it was no easy task to get it just right. 💕
Putting this on in the background while I study for finals. Your game looks so lovely. Thanks!
Definitely excited to see this one. A wonderful game with flaws that have it unforgettable moments
Agreed! It did some amazing things for its time, and a lot of it still holds up. Not perfect, but a classic nonetheless.
Many thanks for these videos friend , i actually recently downloaded oblivion and morrowind [played oblivion maaany years ago as a kid and never got the chance to try out morrowind] and was planning on getting into them soon so on top of being super relaxing this series has also been genuinely informative!
Thanks for your kind comment! Glad you're finding the videos informative as well as relaxing :D. I hope you enjoy diving into those games when you eventually do!
Beautiful as always
I remember picking this game because the box art looked cool to me as a kid. No expectations. Such a revelation! Great video
Gloriously relaxing! I love this game! Thank you, Mr. Nerd!
"Please, Mr. Nerd was my father, call me TheASMR."
Perfect Timing!
Hope you're keeping well!
I still need to play Oblivion.......
Glad it arrived at the right time for you! I'm keeping quite well, thanks; hoping the same for you! Oblivion definitely a feels a bit dated these days without mods, but I think it's still well worth playing. It's modern enough that it's easy to pick up and play.
Yes. My favorite game, warts and all. So glad you did this, and hopefully there will be more.
Thank you alot. I always loved your wandering in skyrim videos. And you spoiled us with these. Means alot man. You are my favorite asmrtist and. Probally make the best asmr content in my opinion. And sorry for the long comment
I love how he keeps on trying not to laugh. Reminds me of playing this game at 2am with friends and trying not to wake up the whole house with laughter.
Cryodiil is just lovely this time of year!
All the pop-in reminds me how old this game really is and its crazy how much it blew my mind when I first saw it.
haven't pkayed this since I was a kid, this video gave me those nostalgic feels.
This is wonderful!Would love another when you have time! As a huge ES fan, but someone who hasn't played oblivion, I really enjoyed This!
God, you make me feel so relaxed in your vids that I actually become more stressed when I ear people talking normally right after. +1 sub
Amazing! Oblivion is probably my third favorite ES game. These mods look spectacular.
If I could, would you?
Man...I started laughing at 13:50 and am now wide awake again. Damn it lol
I was just looking this up last week, asmrnerd reading my mind over here, needed some oblivion atmosphere asmr in my life 😍🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you for the magically tour, Nerd. I like the music too!
Please do more of these!!! They help me sleep so much
So thats what grass lookslike. Had to remind myself.
This and the Morrowind video have made me so happy. Hoping for #1 to be added to the titles of each in the future. :)
I miss Oblivion. Time to go digging for disks! Thanks for the lovely content. :)
This game is def on my top 10 list of all time
😍 Only got this game like 2 months ago but I think it's safe to say that this is my absolute favourite TES game 😁 so glad there's an ASMR video for it haha. Looking forward to the Anvil wander in the future!
You should wonder round some of the Halo multiplayer maps. They're so peaceful and there is a bit to explore in the game and in the lore. Especially in Halo 3.
Love your vids and will always watch.
Yes! That would be so peaceful and nostalgic. Halo 2, 3 and reach have this awesome vibe to them. But I'm not sure theASMRnerd knows much about halos lore to make the video interesting enough. He could look it up quickly enough.
@@124hobbiesgaming4 Yeah. Do you play halo? lets take this to the DMs
@@bovineaviation2771 Hell yeah bro! Am I crazy or is this 2007 now?
I've heard of halo before but Ive never gotten into it. I remember playing it with my childhood best friend a long time ago and I have fond memories of it. It would be cool to learn halos lore.
@@mcliam2805 I have 2 UA-cam playlists about halos lore if you want. One is recommended order and one is chronological which is much more detailed.
Good god, this was tingly right up until 4:40 when that invisible person just walks straight on up to the camera!
Ive been waiting YEARS for this
Now a wandering in the shivering isles would be nice😉😌👌
Love how a guard was just dead in the middle of the road but no one batted an eye lol
Nice and relaxing. I even experienced a few tingles from the crunching sound 'neath your feet.
Wow I haven't played TESIV for a while since Xbox 360 and looking at it like this is crazy. Back in 2006 I would've thought this impossible.
The king is back!
Why does this have one dislike??? Did somebody fall asleep and accidentally smack the dislike button with their nose?
The dislikes are from people who couldn't fall asleep because enemies were nearby.
Nah it's from a Morrowind Elitist
@@kaibrunk5658 muh dice roll combat
You are carrying too much to be able to sleep
@@Oxygen97 I too prefer my voice dialogue to be recorded in a high school bathroom stall
Can we see a wandering through an oblivion gate video? I feel like the Daedra and hellfire will really add to the relaxation factor a whole bunch.
This is really strange, I'm seeing loads of people comment about things in this game that I thought I was a bit unique in thinking about. This game made me appreciate nature somehow, the colours in this game were somehow really psychedelic, bright and tranquil. Whether the music, mystery and more complex mechanics complimented this, but the enemies were also quite ghostly, interesting and was exciting to come across new ruins.
Oblivion is my favourite video game of all time. I must have thousands upon thousands of hours put into it by now. I still go back and play it once or twice a year. I just started playing Skyrim (tried it before but couldn't get into it) and I'm enjoying it but it's nowhere near as good as Oblivion.
Just do it, the entire Oblivion wander series, I dare ya.
Holy Heck! Your game is so beautiful and smooth!
Thank you!! I honestly can't take too much credit, my brother assembled most of the modlist and I mostly stole it from him haha. And while it may be beautiful, I've found it's pretty unstable in actual gameplay. I have no idea what the problem is, but there are more random crashes than I'd like. So I guess it's back to square one 😅
would love to see your modlist
I'm actually in the process of overhauling it! The one in the video proved to be a bit unstable. New modlist performs better and doesn't crash! You can expect a new Oblivion vid in the next few weeks, with modlist.
@@theASMRnerd ah sick thanks
Love these videos
Possible fallout wandering video?
Literally any content is amazing though
Keep it up
Possibly! People asked for Morrowind and Oblivion wanders for literally years and years, so a Fallout 4 wander could always happen :)
Any vast open world would be greatly appreciated
What we're the mods, Did you ever manage to compile the list?
Bro finally I have been trying to find this forever
A suggestion: as a long time viewer, a great idea might be one lucky winner gets to do a video with you through a multiplayer game, or a machinima of sorts with one of the Elder Scrolls game, or any game for that matter. Like a role play, or story told through ASMR. Just a thought.
The graphics look SO much better than the original 😭 I never realized how absolutely archaic the graphics were until I bought the game again recently
Finally got to the best of the ES games. So glad.
hey Nick! I know you don't know me but I've been subscribed for over a year now as of today! I haven't been able to watch your videos because I don't have wifi, but I just want to wish the chat & yourself a wonderful day and hope you're staying safe :)
btw, all your videos are 11/10!
Thank you so much for your comment, and for your support! I'm sorry you don't get to watch more of my videos, but I hope those that you do watch bring you relaxation and comfort :). I'm staying safe and healthy, thanks; I hope you are too!
@@theASMRnerd Victoria B.C. is a nice place to live isn't it. I grew up there myself
Just wonderful. ♥️😭
Eso flashbacks in cyrodiil that a Dragonknight jumps out of nowhere and ults me xD
Loving these!
I adored oblivion
29:00 A true Oblivion moment...
This was lovely as ever ❤❤
All fun and games until you hear “your money, or your life”
The hero of Kvatch was a potato.
"You're smarter than you look."
YESSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLY!
As unique as Oblivion was for its utilisation of a hellish world for much of the story, I would’ve preferred it to make greater use of Cyrodil. The setting in this game - much like Kingdom Come Deliverance - strongly resembles the region of England that I grew up in, which adds to the wonderment of its design.
I'm SHOCKED none of them asked you about the high elves
**wipes tear** My dear beloved Cyrodiil, how I've missed thee
Hope you get to visit the Shivering Isles, perhaps on stream? :3 Oblivion Sheogorath is best Sheogorath
Skyrim.
This game looks way better than I remember is this some kind of graphics enhancer mod or something?
"Yes, we heard that already".
Listen, Nick, she just wanted to make SURE you'd heard it.
YEEES!!!!
Oh nick you spoil us❤️
This put me right to sleep lmao
Can we please have that mod list Nick?? I've been trying for a while but can't seem to make it look anywhere near as good as this sadly :'(
Have you heard of the high nerds?
Hey asmr nerd! I love your content and I was wondering if you could do a exploring pantheon video?
THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME !
Are you playing this through the Skyrim engine? How does this look so HD! LOL
Imagine a world without texture pop ins
More Oblivion videos please!!
I always laugh during 16:38 lol
RIP nameless Imperial guard 😔
You should play the hunter call of the wild (asmr)! Super relaxing game
I was expecting a bear because everytime I enter the woods in oblivion a bear just attacks me for no reason
Yasssss
Stop right there subliminal slumber!
Body’s still warm; looks like there’s a sleeper about.
Is oblivion in cyrodil? Or Tamriel
You should wander the imperial city.
Great video. Lots of nostalgia and tingles. But I’d be more engaged if you spoke in non-sequiturs like all the NPCs.
just bought this game on steam for 4 dollars :)
First
Well done! ☼CERTIFIED FIRST!☼

I actually liked oblivion more than skyrim. It felt more grand in every way.
Skyrim felt dead and lifeless and empty cause it kinda was. And I really dont like games with ONLY a frozen type environment. It's incredibly draining to look at all the time imo. Theres only so many ways you can make a barren snow covered land scape look like.
I felt like the general world design and a lot of the quests and nearly all the RPG mechanics were such a huge downgrade. The only thing they really improved was the basic gameplay aspect.
Skyrim is very much like fallout 4 in that way. Trash all the RPG elements, skimp on all the stories and dialogue trees and choices, but improve the action gameplay side. But not enough to make the basic gameplay any good at all.
Bethesda simply cannot make good gameplay and make their games feel modern pretty much ever. Their tech and general gameplay is always like an entire generation behind. Fallout 4 is still has the worst graphics, in the top 5 buggiest, and with the worst triple a fps mechanics this entire generation hands down.
