Calypso was making a braided bracelet, and by the time the episode’s over, she’s completed the bracelet. And it’s also a hidden meaning to the entirety of the episode, with connecting the students together in a way that completes the circle. ^^
Calypso is one of my favorite episodes of the whole series. I love the flow from group to group and how calmly she can motivate her students. Not only that, she's one of the best characters in the whole show with such a lovely voice.
Indy is an Afghan Hound. Her family does have a hippie feel to them, but their breed is also known for having a lot of digestive issues. The whole ‘no wheat, dairy, sugar or preservatives’ is very true for how frustrating it can be to feed them
Fun Fact! The music for The Claw is an 8-bit remix of Pachbel's Canon in D major. The show uses a lot of revamped classical music, like Mozart, some tracks from the opera Carmen, and Jupiter from Holst's planet suite. I imagine it saves them time and money since they don't always have to compose from scratch and classical stuff is all public domain. It also introduces kids to new styles of music
Ahhh! I knew it sounded familiar! Canon is a song I heard in so many different sources over the years, especially an anime with lots of classical music, but I couldn’t put my finger on the song when I heard it in Bluey. I knew I’d heard it but missed where I had.
Fun musical fact of the week. In the episode Calypso, all thenstudents are represented by their own instrumental families. (Brass, acoustics, wood winds,.ect) When Calypso gets all the sudents to play together, the music all comes together too. Also Calypso's V.A. is Meg Washington, an Australian musical artist. The song she sings was made up while she was voice acting. They did remake this as a full song in the second album. You will hear one other song by the V.A. that u sill just have to anticipate when it will happen:)
I also love the way Calypso subtly encourages her students to be collaborative in their play! She lets them decide for themselves, but gives them a nudge in the right direction. And her voice is so sweet and gentle!
Bluey is such a nice slice of life show :D I really like how you also pay so much attention to the music! Also, that dog playing the song in the "Market" episode is actully inspired by the composer for the show! I think his voice is even dubed by him :D Anyways, another fantasic video as always :)
Shame the scene of the horse pooped and then the girls ran off screaming, which is the uncensored scene, on Disney the scene was completely removed. A good example of the Bluey censorship, Mikey.
I know I brought up the original versions if Bluey last video before this and brought up ABC iView the best way to watch the original episodes with no cut or censoring, (that is not some shady watch cartoons free site) unsure if he was not able to get it working for whatever reason, or these were recorded already and didn't check it out yet
The music in Bluey is really great and if you want to listen to it, they have it on Spotify. But there are songs on there from episodes you haven’t watched yet, so no spoilers.
And yes, I've already commented a couple times, but I must also mention. Yes, your right, the composer has a LOT of fun making the music. He writes the music with each episode, giving it a theme, and mixing it along to fit the episode. Infact, the musician in Markets is voiced by the main composer (Joff Bush). There are also albums made for this show that obviously have a lot more focus in the music of the episodes. There is a more complete version of the Claw theme in the album, as well as Market's and many other previous episodes you saw. Since you make such a heavy focus on the music, I would LOVE to see ur reactions to the albums as well.
19:41 Poffertjes are little Dutch pancakes, usually served with powdered sugar and butter. 20:23 That dog is voiced by the guy who does the music for the show, Joff Bush. 21:17 This demonstrates the economic principle of the velocity of money -- the number of times a single unit of currency is passed around within a set period.
I don’t know if it was intentional, but the doctor episode was a perfect way to explain triage to a child - why some people wait longer than others in the ER
Idk if you're on TikTok, but the composer sometimes shows up on the Bluey page and talks about the process and how much they enjoy working on this show. It's worth checking out!
At the poffertjes stand, that flag is for the Netherlands. Poffertjes are like small, light and soft pancakes. Usually served with butter and powdered sugar, but a lot of places offer a variety of toppings like nutella or fresh fruit.
That’s the actual colour of an Australian $5 bill. We have blue 10s, red 20s, yellow 50s and green 100s. The colours make it easy to instantly identify what bill you have, with the palette apparently chosen for a ‘youthful’ appearance.
It’s a really cute detail, but Afghan hounds (which is the breed Indie and her mum are) have really sensitive tummy’s so their lifestyle choice funnily reflects that

Calypso is literally one of the best teachers
Yeah she's like everything I want to be in my aim for a career as a primary school teacher.
Calypso was making a braided bracelet, and by the time the episode’s over, she’s completed the bracelet.
And it’s also a hidden meaning to the entirety of the episode, with connecting the students together in a way that completes the circle. ^^

you hear I love your reactions

Oooooh ok! That’s a super cool detail

LOVE how much attention you pay to the music and sound design. I can tell I'm gonna love what you have to say about later episodes
Two of my favorite things to pay attention to in any show or movie
These are so nice, I'm never not happy to see a bluey reaction episode
Me too unless it’s a very emotional Bluey episode.
I love how much people love seeing reactions for this show. I get it. It’s such a nice palette cleanser from a lot of other shows
Joff Bush & David Barber are genius when it comes to matching the score to the script. It just gets better and better
I also love the way Calypso subtly encourages her students to be collaborative in their play! She lets them decide for themselves, but gives them a nudge in the right direction. And her voice is so sweet and gentle!
Everything in that Calypso episode, just like the bracelet she made in the end, was in full circle, my friend! 😊

@@M644theawesome The only exception being Exercise which Ludo themselves removed the first min of that EP due to people called it "fat shaming."
20:15 It’s worth noting that the little Pug’s name is “Buddy”.
“Magic claw has no children, his life is free and easy.” Hahaha, Bandit cracks me up!😂
yeah. but he yapped over it and missed the beauty...
The music in Bluey is really great and if you want to listen to it, they have it on Spotify. But there are songs on there from episodes you haven’t watched yet, so no spoilers.
Yeah I normally don’t like to hear songs before seeing them utilized on a show or movie. I can be patient haha

bluey! hooray!

I think we all youths deserve a Calypso in their educational journey

See I love that idea. Especially in regards to being able to distinguish between each bill
It’s a really cute detail, but Afghan hounds (which is the breed Indie and her mum are) have really sensitive tummy’s so their lifestyle choice funnily reflects that
Hooray!🎉
Not me wishing I had a teacher as patient yet guiding as Calypso
