Beautiful stream and fish. Many of your places I recognize, as I am older and have fished these states for a lot of years. I don't recognize this one, because it looks like 15 others that I have fished. 🙃 I respect that you don't advertise the names or locations. Thank you for that. These small remote streams are treasures to be enjoyed when you stumble onto them.
Another great video Drew. Your a real conservationist and teacher as to how you release and return these amazing fish back into their habitat . Your fishing habits are very gentle on our eco system.
"...just a small stream, kind of in the middle of nowhere" you said - and right then I knew that you know what you're doing and you'll pretty much always find fish.😊 Tight lines Sir, you're a proper angler.🎣
Don't sleep on the whitefish! They are a native species, they fight hard and they are a sign of a healthy fishery. Many a slow day has been saved by cooperative whiteys! I call them freshwater bonefish. Great videos, I love following along on your trips out west. I hope to run in to you out there someday.

@@LooknFishy Don't you ever get bored with checking all the boxes and catching so many trout? Yeah I didn't think so. Thanks for another great video and stay safe out there.
My experience in Montana is that you really ned to fish from a drifting boat when going through someone's ranch. The local fishing guides are very valuable when it comes to knowing where to put a boat into a steam and exactly where to take it out several miles down stream. You will notice that just about any back road crossing a stream will have the bridge barbed wired to prevent people with an attitude from entering a stream by climbing down the embankment.

Awesome little stream there! I had a similar instance with fish rising like crazy and it turned out to be a run full of whitefish haha! It was still fun catching them at least.
@@LooknFishy haha that’s cool you got them on the dry! I was using a big hopper and I don’t think they could have eaten it with their small mouth. Either that or they just wanted my dropper more haha
If this was Montana, and he started fishing in FS land, all he needed to do was stay between the high water line, and he would be legal; but that's presuming it was in MT.
Great video. Do you know what kind of shrubs those were hanging over the bank? I am always curious what kind of flora is associated with the healthiest streams/ecosystems. I fish mainly on the east coast, and Hemlocks are usually a good sign for the native brookies.
Awesome Drew!! All on drys that’s the best especially on a 3WT!!! Love it man!!! Do you get lonely out there?? I like fishing alone but it’s nice to share with a buddy to, and your in crazy dangerous remote places!!
It's always nice to fish with a buddy but not an option for me. I have friends I bass fish with but not many in south Arkansas who fly fish. So solo is it for me right now!

Great videos! Love watching and learning from your series. Forgive me as I'm sure you've addressed this before but what rod brand/model and reel brand/model are you using in your 7.5 3wt setup?
Man ...we are so lucky down in New Zealand ... if I hooked a 2 pounder I'd be disappointed. With covid and no visiting anglers there must be some very naive fish out there.
This is a great video and super awesome little stream! Have you ever considered a zero or 1 weight rod for smaller streams like this? I ask, as I am thinking about it myself....
Definitely I actually brought a 2 wt but never got it out. Mostly bc on first trips where I don't know what I'll find I like having the 3wt (a few streams in ID coming up that look tiny but had some big cutthroat and I used my 4wt!). If/when I return and know the stream I'd probably take the 2wt here!
Hi Drew. Thanks for another great series. I've been following you for several years now, and they all have been great! I have a logistics question. When you travel 2.5 - 3 hours in on a dirt road, do you carry extra gas with you? Not sure my Jeep Wrangler could make it in and out for that amount of time. Thanks!
I do. I carry 5g Jerry can with me. But I'll say 2 to 3 hrs might only be 50 to 100 miles bc of the roads. But knowing I have an extra 100 miles is nice!
