  • In part 10 of the truck bed camping road trip, I've found another super remote stream to fish and camp on. This area is incredibly scenic, and the brook trout were out in force! Another spot I feel fortunate to have seen during my 9-week truck bed camping trip!
    I started my 9 week road trip on July 31, 2022, and spent roughly 3 weeks in WY, ID and MT. Check out all the videos from this trip in the playlist linked below:

    Once a year we all deserve a day like that .. dozens of fun small fish slashing at our leftover and neglected flies.

    Another awesome video Drew! What a fantastic mountain stream. Your content is so much better than many of the others fly fishing channels out there. I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers. Come on folks, hit that button!

    “I’ve got nowhere to be, for a couple of months”. I wonder how many of your viewers wish they could say the same thing at some time in their lives? I know I wish I could!!

    Wonderful scenery. Have you thought about putting up a base camp and hike in 2 or 3 miles. You go to streams and lakes not many people go.

      I have and do every so often. Not as much now bc I've found it's easier to find a new spot everyday and not return to a basecamp after fishing...plus if I like a stream I'm not tied to an area. But I've definitely left my tarp up at times...there's a few vids from last year's Idaho trip where I set up a basecamp and fished the area wo moving.

    Beautiful location! Always amazes me to see how many western streams are dominated by brook trout. Not sure if it's been asked and answered - What do you do for a living, i'm jealous? - LOL

      Thank u. I had a video up once that talked about it. Long story short, my family and I made a life changing decision in 2007 to chase experiences rather than possessions. So we relocated and changed how we lived...I left my job as an accountant and my wife took a chance on me staying home with our kids. It's taken years to get to what you see now on my channel but I wouldn't change a thing.

    I am curious about how you feel with the nice new Tacoma...putting the racing stripes on the truck makes me wince...I just roll up the windows, turn up the music and blast through it....if you're not willing to scratch the truck you're just not going to get to those spots.

      My truck is a tool! If it stays shinny it didn't do any work!

    Thanks for sharing, because life has higher priorities for me right now and I’m living vicariously through your footage of my future retirement goals! Also, I was thinking about getting some sort of camera to document my future adventures. What do you recommend after using a camera for so long now and how’s the battery life?

    • @LooknFishy
      @LooknFishy  2 роки тому +2

      I really like my gopro. It's a grab and go camera which is perfect for me since it doesn't distract from the fishing. I just push the button and record then hit it to stop. Turning it off and on quickly to not waste battery or space on SD cards. I carry 8 batteries but usually get thru a full day with 6...recording at 4k. Definitely happy with it for a no-nonsense, rugged POV style camera to capture my trips.

      Definitely, I have a spot plb. I send a message to my wife every few days so she knows everything is OK while I'm off the grid.

    If everyone drove through streams there would not be any trout. Kinda lost my respect for your love of nature. We can't have it both ways in this age.

      If you drive forest service roads you're gonna have to cross some streams occasionally...especially if you're 2 hrs down it...not turning around. Keep in mind I didnt cross it to make a commercial or just for the video. Not the same as driving up a stream for fun or out 4 wheeling for adventure. This is a forest service road if they want to build a bridge they can but until then we are forced to cross streams as needed.

    Adventure seekers have ruined so many beautiful areas by driving where roads should not exist. Such a shame.
