The "modernity" of a UI is the least important thing about an anti-malware program. I for one do not give a hoot if it looks modern, but lets the system get infected. I would rather have a really old, clunky 1990s UI with very solid protection if those were my options.
A UI is how the AV informs you that it is operation correctly and if any actions are needed, and allows you to bypass if needed. Hi. Nice video. Re the ransomware portion.. I think it is a flawed test. I don't think you are meant to disable real time protection.. This is not a usual case and should only be done when actually wanting a virus or malware to execute. There are multiple threat vectors and so multiple layers of protection. HIPS alone is not meant to prevent all actions of the malware, especially if you are disabling real time file system protection, which is the main protection against running ransomware.
I love those kind of videos and they are by far my favourites on your channel! Yet i noticed you preferably test the big names on the market (Windows defender, Kaspersky, ESET, etc) I'd like to see some smaller brands beeing tested occasionally if possible!

I ran the eset online scanner the other day because my norton had greyed out the "disable auto protect" functionality, not knowing why it is greyed out. While i noticed when starting up windows it is not greyed out and i could disable auto protect if i wanted but when windows is fully loaded the norton "disable auto protect" button was greyed out. So i noticed adobe installed a acrobat sync function thinking thats the issue because ive never had this problem. Ran eset online scanner and while scanning it suddenly closed but it does not in any way shows malware because i used another scanner aswell. So i think its the adobe acrobat sync exe file which ive also disabled in its startup but weirdly enough it still started
so i ran another ESET online scan and a trend micro housecall scan today to be sure but as i thought no infected files or malware. supposadly it has to do something with either its MSI gaming app which is discontinued or the Acrobat Collaboration Synchronizer 24.2 AdobeCollabSync.exe which has been a pain in the ass by most people ive looked up, still my norton grey's out the option to disable "auto-protect" turning on silent mode and turning off silent mode did not work as someone mentioned that it could work
Quite shocked and disappointed that ESET couldn’t detect a ransomware. I’ve been using ESET since forever and I won’t be renewing my license for all devices.
Check the comments on what other users have said. Supposably it is because the Livegrid was disabled so ransomware detection wasn't enabled because of that.
Wouldn't it be better if we try n amount of malware from different categories across different anti-malware solutions one by one so, let's say defender caught x/n where eset x-1/n and so on.
you need to know how to use it. The malware is something that it wasn't designed for so you have to lose a USB port or two to run a drive security. I have 4 Flash drives and two other main drive. 1 ssd and a 2nd HDD. I have a flash drive per each elevation in the drives department. I have one 3.0 flash drive, one 3.1 flash drive, one 3.2 gen 1 flash drive and one 3.2 gen 2 flash drive. The only drive I don't have covered is 2.0 for a many number of obvious reasons.
For some reason, it stopped my windows update and update of other applications installed such as Visual Studio, SSMS, etc. after uninstalling, I was able to install all the updates right away.

Why i don't see anyone doing Webroot AV? Can you do one of those?
This is a great indepth test, a bit disappointing that ESET couldn't perform better but would love to see the latest Kaspersky Free and how it stands up with the new threats
Hey TPSC where do you get these samples? where would i be able to download black matter ransomware? i have a VM all set up but just dont know where to download these files.
Bitdefender is so buggy and heavy but I have yet to find something with as good as protection. My renewal is coming up hopefully by then. I really like Kaspersky in the past, but I find their mobile solution far behind their desktop and do not really feel that protected on mobile like I do with BD. I have a very fast pc so BD being heavy is not a big deal, would be nice to get rid of it though.
Are you still using Bitdefender?
@@blaaxz Yes, unfortunately we can no longer get Kaspersky so I am stuck with it. Those have been the only two that I have personally tried and had good experiences with.
@@A42yearoldARAB I'm not sure if Bitdefender or ESET is better.
I've been using eset since the early 2010's
Interesting...🤔 Thank you for the information!
Edit: Is there a way for two different Anti-malware software to operate at the same OS without interference?
Great job as always ♥️
I'm about to replace Sophos with ESET for my home office setup. Sophos is just such a system hog and I'm tired of it. ESET is reported to be one of the lowest system usage AV available while also still being a great AV.
Great video! I have been using Eset for years. Could you do a test for the latest F-secure as well?
Can you run the same test with malwarebytes and kaspersky?
eset is said "e-set" not "eee-see-eee-tee", but other than that, awesome content brother
G Data?
I ran the eset online scanner the other day because my norton had greyed out the "disable auto protect" functionality, not knowing why it is greyed out. While i noticed when starting up windows it is not greyed out and i could disable auto protect if i wanted but when windows is fully loaded the norton "disable auto protect" button was greyed out. So i noticed adobe installed a acrobat sync function thinking thats the issue because ive never had this problem. Ran eset online scanner and while scanning it suddenly closed but it does not in any way shows malware because i used another scanner aswell. So i think its the adobe acrobat sync exe file which ive also disabled in its startup but weirdly enough it still started
so i ran another ESET online scan and a trend micro housecall scan today to be sure but as i thought no infected files or malware. supposadly it has to do something with either its MSI gaming app which is discontinued or the Acrobat Collaboration Synchronizer 24.2 AdobeCollabSync.exe which has been a pain in the ass by most people ive looked up, still my norton grey's out the option to disable "auto-protect" turning on silent mode and turning off silent mode did not work as someone mentioned that it could work
Avast and Avg will perform better then the other av's.
Interesting that it showed several From the Depths as running processes as this is a PC game that I used to play.
Wish you could do same test bt=ut with other top AV like Bitdefender and Windows Defender
security tests !! at last !!!
Please test/review Blackfog :)
There will be a G-Data updated test?
Awesome Thank you for Sharing 💯✴
Great video, please test surfshark antivirus
Test Trend Micro maximum Security against ransomwares.
what can go wrong final last word's has movies never teach you anything JK love your channel love what you do
Kaspersky next please!
Hello i was curious if you can do a review on Clam AV idk if you already did a review on Clam AV but i would Love to see your thoughts on it
Cannot find "ESET Internet Security" on ESET's site. Is this the Essential, Premium, or Ultimate?
Will the tests mentioned be available this year?
Quite shocked and disappointed that ESET couldn’t detect a ransomware. I’ve been using ESET since forever and I won’t be renewing my license for all devices.
Check the comments on what other users have said. Supposably it is because the Livegrid was disabled so ransomware detection wasn't enabled because of that.
Eset has to add their LiveGuard feature to Internet Security. Maybe it would had fared better.
Can you test the ransom protection of Acronis home protect with your new tools?
boy you're really pumping the security reviews out huh (sarcasm)
Could you also test Bitdefender free again ?
For some reason, it stopped my windows update and update of other applications installed such as Visual Studio, SSMS, etc. after uninstalling, I was able to install all the updates right away.
could you review the performance differencee between AV? which one is the fastest or slowest?
Can you run this same exact test with Bitdefender Internet Security? I love their software and have been a loyal customer for a long time and would love to see your input on it with this test!
im am more interested for your malware test files! where can i download that? i want to test it too for my environment :)
Please do the same in depth test of other Antivirus lile Kaspersky or Bitdefender
@ThePCSecurity Channel is this better then Norton 360 for gamers? i notice it at least uses less memory.
Avast soon?
So is Eset better than Bitdefender and Kaspersky in malware protection if against 2000 malware it got 98% something detection rate, when Bitdefender and Kaspersky got 96% something? Or we should take into account that the samples could be different enough to make a difference?
Can you do malware & ransomware test on latest Windows Security please...
Man, if you ever have to deal with 2k malwares, things would be tough. :-)))
Can you please test Trend Micro for me
Thanks
Can you test business endpoint?
Please, Norton 360 test...
