If you don’t have multimedia, you could change the grey image and play button image that the HTML file refers to. Can make it completely custom by playing with the project folder.
That was true with Adobe Captivate 11 or earlier but the grey background and small black and grey play button are created using JavaScript with Captivate 12.

What happens if you add a Project Start Cover Image? Will that let you specify the image under the start button like you can in 11?
To see the *Cover Image* you must turn off *Autoplay* if your first slide doesn't have audio.
