He’s definitely not a “historically” leaning character but he draws heavily from the myth of a berserker. I’d love it if lawbro and armored characters in general got more HA where it makes sense but zerk’s is very on point and fitting. His health pool keeps him from tanking (what I’d expect from lawbringer) because he’s pretty weak outside of a couple good trades.

People always think berserkers were just these big, strong guys who were good in a battle, when in reality, they were basically just crazed drug addicts who got so high they thought they had become animals. So basically, he has hyper armor because he’s just so damn high that he isn’t affected by getting hit once he gets going

Raider had armor in the For Honor early testings before the official release and Warden had different armor too as well as the armor from the recent heroskin (which those sets look better). The vikings could use more chainmail and leather sets. Jorm needs some heavy armor as well considering they're a heavy class, and some SHOES. Ubisoft so far is giving the shortest stick to the vikings as far as variations go. I love the knight sets we got twice, but vikings deserve better too.

I think more chainmail, lamellar, padded, and other Vikings armors with traditional clothings would like very nice also with some fur for warmth and leather mainly for weather protection and so on. It would look amazing and they can still add a touch of For Honor onto it too. Imagine Raider and Warlord with a cape for example. Glorious.

My hate for Highlander as a Rep 30 Highlander main is the lack of Gaelic! Part of me wishes he'd come as an Outlander so he'd speak it, currently his only "Gaelic" voice line (Gaelic in quotes because it's anglicized) is "Dunmaghlas!" (From Gaelic "Dùn Mac Glais", "Fortress of the Sons of Glas"), the war cry of Clan MacGillivray who one of the writers is from. Sidenote, I've seen a lot of people saying "Dunmaghlas!" means "Touch not this cat" or something, it doesn't. That's Clan MacGillivray's motto, mottos and war cries are different. My supposed clan's battle cry is "Loch Slòigh!" (Name of a loch in the territory that means something like "Loch of the Host" / "Loch of the People"), but the motto is "This I'll Defend". The motto in Gaelic would be something like "Dìonaidh Mi Seo." Because I, obviously, didn't know Gaelic yet, and hadn't seen his quotes, I thought he did and thought when I started learning I'd be able to understand what he was saying. Nope lol. My friend that's learning Norwegian would have a better time understanding him than me

Great video. Much like you, I'm the least enthusiastic about the vikings out of all the factions, and now I kinda want to itemise my thoughts. Raider: I more or less agree with everything you said, with two minor differences. One, I kinda learned to accept the shirtless look, and I think he leans into the more fantasy-esque berzerker archetype a lot better than the character actually called Berzerker. The second is a general issue I have with the Vikings. I feel many characters have a really bad playstyle overlap issue, where usually one is notably better than the other. In the case of the better ones, they also tend to be utter bullshit. In this case, Raider is Completely dwarfed by Berzerker, with the same copious amounts of HA, almost on-tap unblockable, and light soft feints. The difference is, that Berk can pick directions for his lights, meaning reading the move and intent correctly still forces a light directional guess, and unlike with raider, his unblockable is not insanely light interrupt prone. Warlord: Yep, sure is the best looking Viking, no arguments there, well maybe for Varangian. My issue with him is similar to yours, and I'll try to elaborate. One, is that even in a vacuum, he's insanely clunky. His externals, and lane clear are shit, he has really weird tracking/movement on his attacks, where I often find he starts shifting backwards without my input during attacks, and he doesn't have any sophisticated pressure tools. You said it's all just the slow bash-light, or regular enchanced lightspam with him... but what if the enemy can react to lights? You are stuck fishing for a singlular move. Taking him out of the vacuum, he's made completely obsolete by either Varangian, or Jorm, depending on what you would value the most about Warlord. If you like the enanced light pressure, with ample hyper armour, Jorm has that, his damage is no worse, he has loads of extra tools, and the tools they share are better on Jorm (bash-light continues chain pressure, zone can chain extend with armour, so the opponent can't just knuckle up and wait for you turn to end at your chain finisher). Varangian is even more Warlord adjacent, but she trades the hyper armour, for just generally being a lot more modern and up to date, with greatly enchanced defencive tools to make HA unimportant, and actual externals. Berk: I like just about nothing about this character, not gonna lie. I think he fails the visual followthrough of his core concept, his weapon set, while interesting on paper, is there to facilitate a fetid moveset, and the character's mannerisms completely lack that oomph that would not make them dead average among the other vikings in-game. In a more historicist setting, he'd feel wild and crazy, but not in FH's viking roster. Also, most of his players are huge fannies, so there's that. Valk: Only Viking I don't feel vaguely dirty playing, I feel she can be played in a functional, but not aggravating way. Most online Valks will not play like that, but hey, what the hell. I'm fine with never seeing her face, and I think more characters should have reamined faceless. My aesthetic issues with Valk are her crooked neck, and the same problem PK has, with a bunch of very specific metallic colours on helms that can't be matched, or complemented with any other clothing option on the character. Highlander: Perhaps third best looking Viking as far as I'm concerned, but he's such a cheap tosser. I occasionally pulled him out for a round or two, but I dropped him like a rock upon his rerwork, because everything already annoying about him was made better and safer. He has a really nice sounding voice tho. Shaman: I really like how she actually has the mannerisms that would befit her designation. I agree with your aesthetic gripes, and I also hate her gameplay. It feels like they looked at PK, decided to make bleed not confirm on a heavy, and buffed the shit out of literally everything else to "compensate". Cheap ass character whose mains make their most impactful play on the character select screen. Jorm: I actually like the voice. It has character to it, but yet again, fuck this character's gameplay. Also, I feel like Jorm is one of the best examples of why I don't like how chest pieces dictate everything besides the head and arms. Some Jorm gear could look decently put together, but then those always end up being barefoot, while all the cooler kicks get put on bare chested variants. I'd love if there was a way to decouple lower and upper body customisation, but I know it's a pipe dream. Varangian: I agree with everything you said, but would like to add something. I think the character has excellent stylistic direction, and she'd be the queen of fashion of her faction, if her options weren't so limited.

Also about Valkyrie, she honestly feels like one of the most fairest Hero to play alongside Kensei. She doesn't have anything really busted in her kit yet she's not too underpowered, her kit isn't complex like one of a Shaolin but also isn't as bare bone as Warlord. She's got a gimmick like most Heroes, aka the sweep, but it's not like old Jorm or Sohei where her whole kit is based on that one gimmick and the other attacks are trash. I think the only thing that should change about Valkyrie is her heavy finisher to be an undodgeable because it just feels wrong for an enemy to dodge right through that wide finisher even though you made a right read by knowing they would try to dodge because they were expecting a sweep.
What I like about the vikings: They are vikings!
What I don't like: The fashion.

Then when I reveal this was not really meant to be critical but instead tongue and cheek and humorous, you change your stance, admitting you KNEW it was humorous in the first place. Cool. You also say that comedy is subjective. Fine. You don't have to like it. You can find it unfunny. But about 250 other people found it enjoyable...so can't have been that bad if it has a 96% like rate (and 98% on the previous video too).
And then you point out the hilarious point: that I did the same thing in the first video (making tongue and cheek jokes rather than real critique), meaning you watched BOTH videos expecting a different outcome...I think there's a saying about doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a different outcome. I can't remember how it goes...INSANE right?
I think I have a solution though: Take a step back. Smile to yourself. Realize that, at the end of the day, my goal is to entertain and have a good time, and not be a serious critic about the gameplay, since that's not my speciality, and move on. It's a very easy thing to do, and I highly recommend it. In fact, I'll do that right now. Have a great day.

I told you I enjoyed the video some parts were cringe and I also explained that It's not that I wish it was super serious but more just wish you had been more consistent with all the characters. I mean you said it's a video with a bit of humor sure but in the videos you actually give valid criticism with out a joke so the video just was mainly confusing. I enjoyed the first video and it was kinda the reason why I watched the viking video, I commend you on the mostly positive ratio because the video was pretty solid that doesn't mean I can't say anything negative about it at all . I added the little sad face emoji and it was taken like I spit on your face or something. I'm sure it's not crazy for me to say that I didn't like a joke you threw out there 3 times ha

Also about Valkyrie, she honestly feels like one of the most fairest Hero to play alongside Kensei. She doesn't have anything really busted in her kit yet she's not too underpowered, her kit isn't complex like one of a Shaolin but also isn't as bare bone as Warlord. She's got a gimmick like most Heroes, aka the sweep, but it's not like old Jorm or Sohei where her whole kit is based on that one gimmick and the other attacks are trash. I think the only thing that should change about Valkyrie is her heavy finisher to be an undodgeable because it just feels wrong for an enemy to dodge right through that wide finisher even though you made a right read by knowing they would try to dodge because they were expecting a sweep.
